Chapter 20 - An Emergency

Rukku was a little stunned that such a large man had somehow managed to get the sneak on him. And when he thinks large, this man really was just that. The man then seeing the expression on Rukku's face just smiled a little and then he laughed loudly out in his shop.

Just like his size, the noise that his laughter made was also loud and big. It even scared some of the more unfortunate customers who had not noticed him standing there, though how one would not notice the massively tall man, no one would know.

His laughter slowly dying down again, he turned serious as he looked down at Rukku, "So I am making you this armour or not?"

This time though Rukku was actually ready to talk back, his shock was now all gone just as it had come for him.

Confidently he said, "Yes, I would like some armour as you can see I do not exactly have any to speak of."

The man just looked over at him, a couple of times, seemingly doing measurements and other such tasks all in his mind. "Well, I would say you need some medium armour but nothing too heavy so that it does not hinder your movements. Blade masters always like that, and would you like a helmet? I do recommend getting one for the obvious reasons."

Rukku just nodded his head. It would be stupid not to get a helmet even if it did ruin your vision, protecting the most vital part of your body would always be important.

The smith just smiled at that. "Well, then it seems like you have some brains as well. I will make sure you get the armour soon. In fact, I could probably have it ready for you in a few hours." The smith, loud and confident, surprised Rukku with his speedy ability, this shock just as before openly displaying on his face of Rukku.

"PLAYER NOTICE, LOYALTY HAS DROPPED LOW, REBELLION WILL OCCUR!"

The sudden system announcement stunned Rukku again, this time even more badly. What the hell is it that the system meant? Loyalty is low? How could it be low? And a rebellion? He was not even in his town!

Then Rukku quickly looked back up at the back of the smith. "Master smith. If I may be so bold, there is an emergency back at my town, meaning I will soon have to depart and return. If it is possible could I make it so that the armour will be sent to the gatehouse?"

The smith did not reply and instead just nodded his head. Rukku quickly expressed his thanks before leaving. He had to make sure everyone that he had gathered would be ready to leave a lot sooner than they all had expected to.

The merchant and the priest both heard what he had said and looked at him weirdly, they both had no idea what had suddenly changed…

"My lord…"

Quickly interrupted the priest, "There is no time, we need to leave within a few hours. Something bad is happening at home."

The merchant heard this as well and quickly then spoke up, "I can provide you with carts and horses to speed up the movement of your people. If you would let me help you, of course?"

Rukku looked at him only for a moment and just nodded his head. It did not even matter what the merchant was planning now, all that mattered was quickly being able to get back to his town as soon as it was possible for him to do so.

Then quickly he and Xhizalines the priest went back to where the small clan which he had met were living. As soon as they arrived some people were already packing but looking at all of them Rukku knew that it would not be quick enough now with the new time frame that he had been given.

Then as he looked around, his eyes quickly found that of Assala, who frowned a little as he saw him.

Rukku, seeing this sighed a little, it was like this man knew what he was going to say before he even had a chance to say anything at all.

As he got closer Assala just simply said, "We will be ready to leave in a few hours, I already received word of everything that has happened. There are a hundred and ten people in my clan who will be following you." His words, much like his wife's, were blunt and straight to the point, something of which Rukku found himself starting to like a lot.

As a few hours passed, Rukku soon found himself at the gatehouse of which he had come into the city not that long ago at all. Around him were the members of the clan who were following him out of the city back to his village and domain, and just as he had promised there were an assortment of wagons and carts around all from the merchant guild.

Rukku could only find himself stunned at how quick everyone seemed to be working in this city and game, back in the real world something on this scale would take so much longer than it had happened here. He guessed this is just what made this all different.

Though Rukku could also see a very annoyed guard captain to his side, though not the same one as he had seen earlier, this man still shared the exact same annoyed look as the one that he had met before.

"Ahem."

Hearing a polite cough behind him, Rukku slowly turned around to see a small man or maybe a boy? The person in question was carrying what looked like a heavy package.

"This is for you sir, from the master smith." The small man then handed over the package and quickly left.

Feeling the weight Rukku knew what it was already.

Quickly he found a small quiet area to unpack it.

The armour was beautiful.

There were a few parts and it appeared to be made up of a mixture of light black chainmail as well as hardened and reinforced leather plate pieces. Quickly putting it all on, Rukku found that it covered everything important. His chest, torso and upper thighs as well as upper arms and a little on his shoulders. His lower legs and arms had their own separate chin and arm guards, all in all. Rukku was just amazed at how well it had been made. The helmet though was impressive too, looking like an open faced helm, with a small nose piece.

After making sure it was on all correctly, he went out to the front of the crowd of people. They all were looking at him eagerly and with his new armour, Rukku finally felt like the leader of the group.

"Well, let us go! And quickly!"

He did not feel like saying much as all he felt was worry and urgency. He had to get back, and quickly.
