After walking out of the throne room ad into a much more decorated hallway compared to what he had been seeing before now aside from the first room of course. The lady of the house whose identity seems to keep on growing at every corner now.
Stopped, turning around as well as pushing Rukku against the wall all in one, while holding a dagger against his neck. The dagger seemingly came out of nowhere. Its carved silver body shone gently in the torchlight.
"You…why did you say yes! She is my precious child! I do not care if you are a scion. You can not take what you want and also do as you wish! You could have rejected the offer and tried to come to another agreement with my husband! Why? Why? Just why…." Soon enough her words ended up in sniffles and sobs rather than any actual sentences.
Rukku who had almost instantly realised he could overpower her just stayed still and silent. He really did not know what to say and in fact, although he made the decision he was still not even sure why he himself had gone against his morals so quickly and easily.
Was he changing in this world? And changing rapidly at that? Was he still really him?
Those three questions floated around inside of his head while the sounds of the sobbing women echoed further into his soul, causing it to be shaken a little and yet he also knew from looking at the man that this would be the only way that he would be easily able to get the support that he would need in this world. Numbers were just so hard to come by and waiting for people to be born naturally was just too hard. If he did not take this chance how much would he have fallen behind in the first place?
"I…I am really sorry. If… I need the people more than you know. I am struggling and I have no idea what I am really meant to do. The only idea that I have is to grow my village and get stronger as that develops aside from that I have no idea. I am not like the other scions who as far as I know were born when the bloodline first came around." Rukku almost sounded like he was pleading yet he mused to himself why should he care how he sounds? This was at least the truth which was a nice thing to say aloud for once.
The woman who was still holding the now shaking dagger against his head just nodded her own head. "Fine I do understand why you have said this but I still do not know you nor your real intentions about my precious baby. So we will meet her and then I will get to know you more. Only when I get to know you better will I let you marry her."
Rukku could only really, "That is fine with me." The dagger still being at his neck stopped him from nodding his head too much.
The lady after hearing his reply removed the dagger that she had held there the entire time. "Come on then, let us go and meet her." Walking off, she began to lead Rukku further into the house. Every corner they took seemingly made the building more and more homely, especially in comparison to how cold it had felt before.
Eventually, she stopped next to a normal-sized door. The door did not have any real decoration aside from a small carving just above the handle. The carving looked like it was scratched on by a child. It depicts a singular dragon.
For some reason Rukku smiled at this, it reminded him of his own childhood when everything was nice and fun. When everyone would smile and laugh before it all went wrong.
The women gently knocked on the door to be greeted by a gentle voice in return. "Who is it?"
The voice for some reason sent goosebumps through his body, Rukku stunned at feeling this had to look at his hands for a moment. The lady saw all of this and did not say anything at all as she answered. "It is me, my child, there is a guest that your father would like you to meet."
There was no reply from the person inside of the room just the sound of feet tapping on the floor. Listening to them she sounded hurried as if she was hiding random pieces of clothing like when those film stars suddenly realised there was a tip when they had just brought someone home.
Then the door slowly creaked open to reveal the most beautiful lady that Rukku had ever seen. Dark black hair and hazel eyes. Coupled with an almost Arabian skin tone she looked beautiful. Rukku did not know what to say as he looked at her face. He was stunned fully. Just what was he meant to say?
"Mother, just who is this man. He has not stopped looking at me at all. I guess he will be killed or maybe his eyes should be gauged out for this blatant disrespect of our family." Rukku hearing her words finally stopped looking at her and just smiled at her words.
He wondered if she would have the response if she knew who he was and also if she knew what had been said about her and her fate. It must be agonising to be used as a barging chip. Rukku now only lets his morals truly get to him, the morals making him regret his decisions until now.
"My dear daughter. This man is Rukku, the eleventh scion of our bloodline. Your father wishes for you to marry him."
Leith was ruthless with her words, just being blunt and saying how it was.
Her daughter who had heard all of this did not say anything, Though Rukku could already see the tears building up in the corner of her eyes. This was a shock to her it seems, a bad shock at that.
