Everything was moving up to its climax and we really had our hopes up. A pent-up feeling of anxiety fueled up within me and despite being an atheist, I prayed. I prayed that we conquer this and move on. Who knows? perhaps God might bring up his face this time and will it be. I certainly couldn't just stand there and let anxiety eat me up.
"No No No No No!!!" I yelled as my eyes met the cracks on the circle once again, I brought my hands and scratched them against my face but not so violently that will cause significant damage.

I failed to mention earlier, that my colleagues were getting upset, afraid, and a lot nervous. They didn't want to stay in this fantasy world where frogs the size of a grown man stayed and hostile beast-men dwelled about. We all wanted to go home, back to our loved ones, and back to our jobs where we would be useful and not just the ones needing all the help.

The Fairy King and Zephyr had a visible transparent blue field in front of them that shielded them against the force. We all were blasted away lightly by an unknown force but then Zephyr came forward and told us this.
" It was the effect of the spell getting hastily blocked, I'm really sorry for that"
The clothes that we had on for about two days now received a bit of damage from the blast. My shirt had a hole at its front and tears at its back.

I faced my comrades and my eyes met their saddened faces, they wanted to cry but they held it in them. I walked toward them and hugged the first person I could reach. It was Jake, my arms were around him. Fredrick, Germaine, Belle, Sanchez, and Sasha came in for a hug as well, it was a group hug to soothe one another for we had known that we wouldn't make it back home.
I saw that the King felt strange, from what it seemed, things easily go his way and they were extremely few people that could stop him from doing what he wants. He slowly hovered towards us and had a look of surprise and shock.

We dissolved our hugs and faced him, for some reason, after he said this, I felt a weight off my chest and I couldn't help but bring a small smile in response to his statement.
" I guess your theory was true then, something is keeping us here, something very powerful"
" Of course, this is a frightening development to us but I wouldn't let that hold us down, we would rise and move forward. We wouldn't need to depend on you and we will find our way forward" I said to the Fairy King lightly.
" Evil God, you just made a few stubborn enemies" I yelled at the top of my voice releasing every pent-up emotion inside of me.
