"Did I just use magic?" I mused, my face was all scrunched with surprise.
"Ehhemm.." I gazed upon the hand that I stretched forward and clenched it and released it at intervals. I readied my mind and put on a poised demeanor.
I pushed my two hands forward this time around and focused my intention, I strongly visualized a miniature whirlwind at the feet of the creature, and to my surprise, the gusts of wind I created earlier formed up again.
" Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" I couldn't remain calm any longer, the reindeer-like tall creature was still afloat, this time it paid heed to my action and looked straight at me.
' Don't tell me that's he's mad' I thought, it face at that moment looked like it had morphed into that of an angry grandpa and it scared me.
" Hmmm... getting you down," I said to it, I obviously didn't know how to achieve that, I had put my hands away and it was still afloat like Santa's own magical flying reindeers.
" Yahhh" I shouted and confidently thrusted my right arm like I knew what I was doing.
" Well that's anticlimactic," Germaine said, the dude was behind me and I was sure he had seen me focusing to use that spell.
" Ohhh..... Germaine, good morning" I said to him.
" Good Morning, what do we have here?"
" You know, perhaps one of those kid magicians played a prank on it, and being an animal lover, I couldn't leave it hanging in the air miserably, it was basically made a prisoner," I said nervously and took a mild glance at the creature. The darn thing was looking back like it knew that I was lying.
' This thing isn't sapient right!' I panicked internally, and now sweat beads were starting to form on my morning face.
" Right!" Germaine said, he had obviously seen through me.
" Since when could you use magic?" he asked.
" Well, since five minutes ago" he looked at me, seemingly being doubtful.
" I'm saying the truth, I saw the poor thing gnawing some leaves and I just wanted to fondle it and then this happened"
" Was that all?" Germaine asked
"The spell wore out under two seconds, I didn't mean to conjure it up though, believe me! So out of curiosity, I thought of recreating the feeling but in a much deeper state and this happened"
" Ohhh!" Germaine looked surprised now, he walked towards the creature, roundabout it, and tried feeling the gust of wind but it grazed him.
" Ouch," he cried with a bit of blood dripping off his fingers.
" I'm fine," he said when he saw me approaching to check on him making me stop.
" Why don't you try the same thing again, this time around, focus your mind on making it disappear" Germaine proposed.
That was quite a good idea, why didn't I think of that? If all I needed was to focus to create then I should be able to do the same to uncreate. Germaine was certainly a genius.
Having gotten the idea, I closed my eyes again and went into a state of concentration, there, I visualized the creature getting back on its feet again and the wind dissipating.
" It worked!" Germaine shouted and I opened my eyes to check, he was right the creature was on its feet.
It made a disgruntled sound voicing that it was annoyed and went back into the forest.
" Arghhhh" I let out a deep sigh. I then looked at Germaine who was staring back at me.
'He must have questions' I thought.
' So just thinking really deep makes you do wonders, I wish I was that talented" he said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
" It's a bit more than that and I just found out today, don't go questioning me about it"
" We can't inquire the Chief about it so our only hope is Zephyr, who knows if she'll visit before we go on the journey," Germaine said.
" I'll try communicating with the Chief, seeing me demonstrate magic might make him understand and he should understand a bit of sign language," I told Germaine looking all confident.
" We were going to learn about this sooner or later, I'm just an early bloomer, okay and I should inform the guys about it too," I said and started walking towards my apartment.
" Sure," Germaine said from the distance looking a bit odd.
Almost an hour later, the sky had been brighter with light seeping into my room through the windows. I was in meditation the entire time when the clip-clop sounds from outside roused me and broke me off my state of concentration.
Outside, a few centaurs were out and walking towards the large school in front of me, they were all young, around those that took the test type of young.
I took some steps away from my doorway and I met Belle and Sasha, they were outside chatting on a branch of a medium height tree right beside their hut.
" Good Morning!" I said to them
" Good Morning Mustapha" they chorused.
I wanted to talk more but they seemed busy with each other so I left them, I thought of hitting the doors of the others and waking them up if they hadn't but I later decided I shouldn't.
On a stroll around the place, I suddenly stopped and I found myself right at the Chief's hut, and unexpectedly, the door came opened with Styri right at his door.
Upon seeing his brawny tall body, I smiled wryly since I was anxious whereas he was indifferent and just walked past me.
I resumed my stroll and ended up outside the village, I took good notice of landmarks to make sure I don't get lost.
" A large mushroom with slithery bugs all over, a gnawed tall tree with bright red fruits, another tree surrounded by vines.
I suddenly stopped, a glance to my right and my left and I noticed no one was nearby.
After this morning's unwanted magic incident, the strange energy I do feel when I meditated became clearer and that assured me of something.
" I should be able to replicate this morning's spell easier now" and as I said that, I raised my right hand forward with my eyes closed, the silence and the cool grassy breeze eased my mind a lot more.
" Wind!!" I shouted and a gust of wind formed right in front of the open space.
