[Frederick's POV]
Under the bright radiance of the sun were those creatures, with six legs, about two meters tall, white fur and strangely resembling the common Reindeers back at home.
Many went about striding across the plains looking so happy and free, while some had their mouths close to the ground pulling greens.
" Whoa!" I exclaimed feeling so in awe of the beautiful work of nature before me.
We were just at the start of the plains right after the end of the trees.
I took a step forward and went further on, after some steps, I noticed some movements across the grasses before me, very little ones just like those of mice.
I took a halt and skim my eyes through the area.
'They are certainly small' I thought.
"What's it?" asked Sanchez with a cautious face, my sudden change must have had them worried.
" Oh, it's nothing, I just noticed something and wanted to confirm."
The grasses made sounds just like grains beating against each other and about five distortions on the grasses were made and they were heading towards us.
Others as well noticed this, they weren't too bothered though although they had their sights on them.
Suddenly, they revealed themselves. Like rats, their noses went forward, they had slim torsos about the width of fifteen centimeters, grey thick-looking fur, ratlike faces, and the most surprising thing was that they stood upright.
Well, not quite upright like us humans but it should still count as one.
I immediately checked their hands or feet perhaps if they had sharp claws just in case they chose to go aggressively.
Their claws were pretty tame and one had its mouth opened with short teeth arranged in it and with that, I deducted that they certainly weren't carnivores and the possibility of them acting up was little.
The little guys' height were just about half an average man, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to kill them if I met them back at home due to their strong resemblance to mice.
They all made strange noises in unison and dove back into the grass.
" Well.. That was entertaining!" I said aiming to break the weird silence.
" Yeah, they were certainly cute" Sanchez responded.
Sooner than expected, the thought of them dissipated from my mind and I continued treading.
" What the heck?!" I exclaimed and immediately turned my face towards the sky to view what casted a huge shadow on us.
Two large birds adorned with dark feathers flew past us far onto the plain.
They flew so fast that I couldn't notice any other features.
" I've never seen a bird so huge before," Sasha said..
" A flying one at that" I added.
We strolled around, played amongst ourselves on the ground, and tried chasing some of those Reindeer-like creatures, they were quite fast runners which really wasn't surprising upon seeing their huge legs.
After about thirty minutes of fooling around, most of us were exhausted and we gathered right at the edge just before the trees.
The cool breeze brushing on our skins, the beautiful pristine scenery before us, and the sweet smell of plants really made me feel cozy.
We sat down as a group and brought out our fruits.
It was like a picnic except for the lack of food varieties but we were happy with just that.
Sanchez spoke first.
" What are you guys most excited for?" he asked..
" What are you talking about?" Jake pondered, I however had a good idea of what he meant.
" You know, Learning magic and the tour outside this place!" he said excitedly..
" It isn't a tour, we are strictly making ourselves known to the rulers in this world, calling it a tour is simply childish" Sasha cuts in.
" I for one want to learn magic, it's our hope for protecting ourselves here and possibly getting back home, I want to dedicate all my energy towards achieving its peak!" I said confidently with my right hand tightly clenched.
" You're right, Magic takes precedence" Sanchez agreed.
" Miss Zephyr has assured us of the possibility of taking such power to ourselves, we also swore to get back to whosoever brought us here" he continued.
" We certainly need to give our best in this, I want to achieve the strength those scholars displayed that day at least. With that, I'll be able to fend for myself"
" You're being weirdly assertive all of a sudden Fredrick" Sasha said
" Haha, I guess I'm, anyway we wouldn't get stronger by basking here. Let's head back and ask questions"
