Chapter 33 – The Noah's Library
Darren poured a small portion of his Mana into Jase's hand, the man again showed his funny behavior, but he covered up the discomfort in front of his guest. Darren's power flowed into him, and a glowing green gem signaled that the library had allowed him.
Many books are neatly arranged and clean, and a room looks comfortable to be occupied for a long time. The glass walls reflect some of the sun's rays so that the inside seems fresh and not stuffy.
Greeted by a variety of colors that are just as old. Also, the smell of paper and wood makes Darren's curiosity peak to read them all.
Above there is a bulkhead for the second floor filled with tables and chairs neatly arranged. The connecting stairs between the first floors, Darren sprinted towards the pile of books, picking up as many as possible, though some had no covers.
Jase was happy to see this. It was the first time he met someone other than himself who loved reading books.
Darren headed for a few shelves so there was no more room for him to carry them. Jase also picked up five books and then walked up the stairs to the top and sat quietly, starting to read them. Darren was still downstairs, busy with his activities, while Jase had already devoured two books.
Suddenly he was startled by the sound of a book hitting the table under its weight.
"Heyy!" he screamed.
"What are you doing?" Jase asked in surprise.
"I'm sorry, the books in your family are exciting," Darren replied with a cheerful face.
"Look! I even had to fly some books around me," he added while showing the many books in his hand, and he brought the books that floated using his magic.
"Are you seriously going to read all this?" Jase asked curiously.
"Of course, I'll read all of yours," he answered enthusiastically.
He was surprised by the words that sounded impossible.
"Oh yeah... I see all your books look almost out of place," continued Darren, who went to take a chair and sat across from Jase.
"Therefore, you must be careful with the things you borrow." The answer is indifferent.
"Because here everything is valuables." He added again.
"Yeah, I know. Luckily I've put maintenance magic on all of your books." Dareen answered happily.
"You put it on all the books here?" Jase asked for sure.
Darren just nodded his head. The young man was amazed again. After training with Mana weapons, he's applied to nurture magic to all the books in the Noah family's vast library.
It was impossible a successor possessed as much power as a Mana Bender.
Jase still couldn't believe his words. They are not far apart in age and can have an ample supply of Mana and do it all. Curiosity wanted to ask Darren about it.
'Has he finished sealing Mana? So that he can do all that?' while glancing at Darren was busy unloading his bag and belongings.
He took out all the magic writing instruments that could take notes by themselves. The furry thing moved after Mana was given to him. He quickly took down a whole book and copied it.
The sheet then emits blue flames and burns, producing a small magic scroll. Looks easy to carry.
"Are you going to record it all?" Jase asked, not taking his eyes off the magic attraction on the table.
"Yes," Darren answered quickly without turning his head,
"Do you understand what you're reading?"
Darren just nodded his head.
"To what extent?".
Darren looked up at him and stared intently for a long time. He felt that his question made Darren unhappy, spontaneously covering his face with the book.
Luckily Darren didn't take it seriously. He smiled and replied, "Would you like to hear me read the whole book?"
"No!" Jase answered quickly. The young man returned to enjoying the reading material before him as if competing to finish their reading. It didn't feel like the night had begun to look like the sun had changed with many bright stars.
The dome's roof turned into a beautiful night sky wide above. As Jase also looked up at the sky, Darren stared in amazement.
Seeing a shooting star across the sky, Darren prayed to hold his hands and closed his eyes.
Jase watched her behavior curiously as to what she was doing right now.
"What are you doing?" Jas asked. The man still lowered his face.
He was silent, then raised his head and said, "I was praying. Did you see the stars above moving over there too?" Darren asked back.
"Yes!"
"If you see a star like that, pray then the god will grant all your requests," showing a sad face, remembering his mother who was far away.
Jase listened intently to her words about praying when a star fell and such,
'Isn't praying to the gods, not to the stars?' Jase asked curiously. After Darren returned to reading the book, he didn't dare say anything about it. The night was so perfect that the full moon signaled that it was midnight. The animals could even be heard from inside.
The artificial moonlight illuminates them making it easier for them to read. Jase had fallen asleep after seeing the man fast asleep on the table. He felt sorry for his current position. It just so happened that in their place, right behind him, there was a bed that could be used to rest, seeing a very tired Jase intend to move him there.
Darren raised his body using magic and floated through the air, using only a finger.
Slowly Jase fell asleep on the bed and covered himself with the blanket. The young man returned to his reading activities. Five bookshelves have been completed, and only a few small shelves that have not been touched have swallowed a lot of parchments that have been successfully rewritten.
The books he found he had read in his library, only a few, and certain parts that were not recorded in the Moore family's library were none other than their family histories.
Darren only looked and noted the most critical parts on the red scroll with flower and dragon pattern, which was not given sealing Mana. He found something special that was secret there, that they also almost experienced the same thing as Moore's ancestors, but it didn't turn out to be fatal.
The morning was already shining. Jase had just opened his eyes and saw the sunlight from the roof shining in his eyes.
