Chapter 39 – The Gorge
"It's okay. You've been hungry too since earlier," said Jase, still stretching his body.
They eat for dinner, and the bonfire warms the body. The night feels so long. Darren is asleep, leaning against a tree, and Jase is sleeping on the ground with a cloth.
Darren's horse had also fallen asleep earlier.
The sun shone and emerged from the horizon, and Darren was ready to continue their journey again, with Jase still fast asleep and Darren fixing their horse seat to be comfortable.
Darren goes over to Jase to wake him up.
"Hey, wake up. We have to get going," Darren said, shaking Jase.
Jase opened his eyes and woke up, sitting in a sleepy position. Darren stood up and left Jase there.
"Quickly, wash your face and clean up. I still have to find food to eat on the horse later," said Darren as he walked into the forest.
