Chapter 36 – Elves are Annoying creatures

Darren circled the river, inspecting where he would stay for a while. He ensured that no one or wild animal would chase after them while resting.

"Are you okay?" he asked, watching Jase from afar.

"Have you ever slept in the wild?" He made sure again and teased Jase as he made a place for them to sleep.

"Of course!" Jase said in an annoyed tone, suddenly shouting, rubbing his sticky mouth.

Darren just smiled at Jase was acting weird. From the beginning of the trip, he always felt that his traveling companion was tough to work with, even though Jase had quite an extraordinary ability.

Whereas he was never heard of in the socialite and noble associations, he couldn't know the ins and outs of Rhodes from the inside. Once again, Darren roamed the area and left Jase in a quandary of nausea.

"Don't be angry," Darren replied, picking up dry sticks and twigs.

"I'm asking that because you are a Saintess candidate, I might be sued by your family for letting a great candidate sleep in a forest infested with insects," he added with a serious face.

Jase was embarrassed by his hostility and thought he was making fun of him earlier. It turned out that the person beside him was concerned about the comfort of the two of them. Darren also didn't want to get into trouble with other Mana successors. After a rather humiliating deed, Jase went down the river to catch some fish to shake off the awkwardness.

He stood on the edge and then cast a spell, the magic circle right under his feet leading him to float along the stream of water. The magical object gurgling the surrounding waters gave rise to a beautiful rainbow nearby.

The sun was almost dusk. He rushed to finish it. Meanwhile, Darren was gathering dry logs for a bonfire, curious about what Jase was doing.

'Maybe he's practicing,' Darren said as he stacked them and snapped his fingers to burn the pile. Next, give a barrier as a stone, so it doesn't propagate through the forest.

After doing his job, he walked over to Jase, sweating cold all over his body.

'Has he never practiced controlling his Mana?' Seeing such a disquieting state made Darren a little worried watching him.

The Noah family's mana almost covered part of the sky, forming a vortex in the stream of water, blowing water bubbles and releasing a beautiful little creature, namely a water fairy. She floated close to Jase's face looking so exhausted that Darren felt pity.

"What are you doing?" he asked, watching Jase breathlessly.

He was surprised by Darren, who suddenly appeared beside him. He was shivering with cold because the water hit almost his clothes. With pride, he tried not to show it in front of him.

"You summoned a water fairy," said Dareen, looking at the fairy.

Her whole body is light blue and transparent. The body of a beautiful woman with red eyes makes her amazed. The translucent wings, every time they move, the water droplets appear. "It's beautiful," he said, complimenting her. The fairy immediately blushed at his words. "They (fairies) are creatures that are difficult to give orders," said Jase, followed by a steady sigh.

"Is that true?" he continued curiously.

"Whereas yesterday during my maturity ceremony, father easily controlled them all to do human tasks and jobs. They look fine," denied Jase's words which seemed to lie.

He just gave a wry smile. The young man looking at one of those stubborn creatures, didn't know his family's strength. While annoyed and wanting to hit his face, Jase tried to restrain him.

"What are you going to do with this elf?" Darren asked curiously.

"I asked him to help me catch fish in the water," Jase replied, showing off his skills and not wanting to lose to the boy. Darren had finished paying attention to his feet and headed for the mainland.

"Why not fished or speared?" he said, leaving Jase motionless.

Hearing her words, it was as if he couldn't catch a single fish for dinner, relying on the power of mystical creatures to do the job, which was very easy. But he did not want to lose his arguments and opinions.

Darren prepared to do as he said, rolled up his trousers and sleeves, and went to put his things on the horse for safekeeping, rejoining, enjoying the coolness of the water as it touched his skin. Move the middle of the stream while holding a wooden stick that has just been taken for the bonfire.

Meanwhile, Jesse is still trying to convince the little creature to help catch the fish. His nerves were almost visible on his white face.

"Could you help me catch some fish here?" he asked.

The water fairy shook her head and turned in another direction. She pointed her hand at Darren, who was busy staring at the glass-like water.

"What's with him?" Jase asked curiously.

"Are you telling me to do that?" being ordered like that.

He nodded his head, nodding in agreement.

"Please help me just this once, and I want to appear useful with my abilities as a potential successor to the Saintess," Jase said.

He didn't move an inch from there, sticking to his stance that she didn't want to help Jase anymore.

Many fish were visible along the river, flowing quite fast. Darren had easily caught several big fish tied around his waist. He seemed to enjoy what he was doing, to the point of not listening to their bickering.

A fish large enough to serve as its next target, making no noise or splashing water while holding its breath, Darren walked closer, gripped the spear tightly, and stuck it.

The fish floundered as the wood hit its body, Darren laughing with satisfaction at getting his first enormous catch. He pointed it out to Jase, who looked his way. The young man was amazed that he was speechless at the size of Darren's game.

"Come on, at least I want to catch a lot of fish to prove to him there," Jase said pitifully to the water fairy.

Once again, the fairy did not budge and pointed her hand in the same direction.

Jase finally joined Darren to help him put the fish he had caught, not getting what he wanted, even though he felt embarrassed for acting like a child who didn't want to budge.

Darren also understands this and chooses not to discuss it. He tells Jase to clean up his prey.

"What about her?" Darren asked, pointing at the water elf still hovering in the air.

"Leave it alone. It won't harm her at all. She will return to her world." Jase replied, not looking back at all.
