Chapter 38 - He is too noisy

He was gripping the wood and throwing a heavy blow at the fish. Splashes of water floated in the air. Darren caught a big fish with the wood.

The wood stuck in the fish's body. Darren is happily showing Jase. Jase saw what Darren was doing and gave a beatific expression to catch a fish wriggling at the end of the wood, making Jase feel inferior.

Jase sighed.

"Come on, at least I want to catch a lot of fish for dinner tonight," Jase said pitifully to the water fairy.

Once again, the water elf did not budge and continued to show her hand, pointing at Darren.

Jase felt annoyed and finally gave up. He left the water elf, and the magic circle had also disappeared when Jase walked toward Darren.

Darren kept his focus on the fish in his front. There were already two big enough fish hanging from Darren's waist. With a heavy heart, Jase rolled up his pants and shirt.

Taking wood around the river to be used as hunting spears and Jase going down into the cold water, the water touched Jase's skin for a moment and made him shiver with cold, but because of the anger in his mind, Jase couldn't forget Darren's treatment all this time, Jase quickly followed. Darren was already in the middle of the river. Darren heard his footsteps approaching and reflexively looked back.

"You want to go hunting too?" Darren asked, looking at Jase warily.

"Yes," Jase replied curtly.

"Where's the water fairy?" Darren asked curiously, who turned his attention to the water.

"I left her there," Jase replied calmly, looking at the water nymph who was busy playing with the fish.

"Shouldn't they be returned as soon as business is done?" asked Darren again, catching another fish in his front.

"I don't know, maybe later because I've been hungry since long ago," Jase replied sheepishly.

Darren burst out laughing, seeing Jase's annoyed expression, which didn't work out with Jase's water elf listening to Darren's laughing voice mocking himself, making Jase feel irritated and angry.

"Why are you laughing at me?" Jase asked in an angry, loud voice.

"You're funny. Everyone knows fairies are the most stubborn creatures. They don't enjoy being ordered around by humans," replied Darren, pleased with his correct remark.

He laughed so hard that it made Darren burst into tears in his eyes. Jase's face turned red from the embarrassment that would explode until he became even more irritated.

"Stubborn water elf, and now Darren is laughing at me," Jase roared.

"Hey, stop it. You can scare all the fish and make them run away from here," Darren said calmly, looking at Jase.

"How about you?" said Jase irritably.

"Your laughter may be heard as far as the mountain over there," Jase replied as he pointed to a mountain far from them, both standing. Darren immediately understood and put his index finger in front of his lips to signify silence.

"Do you also want to join in the fishing?" Darren asked again to make sure.

"Can't you see I've got a spear in my hand?" Jase said as he held out a wooden spear in front of him, and Darren glared because the spear's gaze was so close to his self that it made his eyes squint.

Darren removed the spear that was in his front slowly.

"Okay, now let's go hunting," said Darren.

"The sun has flown," said Darren, pointing above the sky.

Jase, who didn't want to get into a fight with Darren, soon separated the way from Darren's position to catch fish. Jase was also good at catching fish, so they both had food to eat that night.

The night had already seen the bonfire had also shone to warm the two of them. Darren's horse was still busy munching on the surrounding grass.

Darren was sitting and sharpening a stick while Jase played with the embers in his front post. The fish they caught were quite a lot, and the smell of the fish made them both hungry, but it was still not cooked. Jase lost his mind as he remembered his father's words talking to the god and turned to Darren, who was busy with his toys.

"Is he the person God and father always talked about yesterday?" Jase asked himself.

"Why hasn't the god ordered us to seal the Mana hard stone immediately?" he asked again in his heart.

Darren felt Jase was watching, which made Darren turn back to Jase.

"Is there anything you want to talk about?" Darren asked curiously and stopped his activity.

"Oh.. umm.. nothing," Jase answered quickly and turned his gaze the other way.

Envy made Jase feel uncomfortable. Jase was curled up to cover his face with his hands.

"What do you think is why we still haven't received the order from the god to seal the hard rock?" Darren asked, still busy sharpening the end of the wood again.

Jase was silent for a long time and didn't answer immediately, still lost in thought but listening to what Darren had to say.

"I don't know," Jase answered dubiously.

"Your father can talk to the gods," said Darren reassuringly.

"Dad said, 'Sometimes things are not good for us to know, so don't cross the line," Jase replied with his face still down.

Darren thought hard about what had just happened in Rhodes, looking for a way, and the cause of this terrible incident that night was quiet and lonely. The two did not speak a word, just moved according to their will.

The fish has cooked. Darren called out to Jase was still bowed and bowed his head in his hands.

"Hey, the fish is done," Darren said, waking Jase.

Jase just lifted his head, eyes reddened with drowsiness and tiredness. Darren regretted having woken since Jase was sleeping.

"I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep," Darren replied sadly.

"It's okay. You've been hungry too since earlier," said Jase, stretching his body.

They eat for dinner, and the bonfire warms the body. The night feels so long. Darren is asleep, leaning against a tree, and Jase is sleeping on the ground with a cloth.

Darren's horse had also fallen asleep earlier.
