Chapter 21 – The Connecting Butterfly between Father and Son
The morning is an enjoyable time to do activities; after a big festive party, many people are still asleep because they were too excited to dance last night.
The Elves prepare the guests' needs, and some even prepare water for the nobles who bathe.
The servants were busy discussing yesterday's events while cleaning the garden and the house. Darren is still in the tower and hasn't come to sleep in his room. Remembering the conversation with Jase, he is also worried that he is still wearing his party clothes, busy looking for piles of literacy hidden there.
After Duke Leon arrived to escort essential people, the Mana Controls were busy discussing crucial matters in one of Moore's secret rooms so that their conversation wouldn't leak out.
"Didn't the gods send you an edict, O Saintess?" someone who always carried a sword almost hit the table in anger.
"Enough, Duke Erica, you've asked him that many times," Duke Owen said with emotion.
"I'm worried, miss something; I just wanted to make sure," he replied.
"Right, this is a severe problem," said another.
"They've experienced nothing like this for the Mana Sealing process, except for our first Grandfather," he said again.
"God has not sent His word to us. Maybe this will be a good trip for the future. But..." Saintess replied.
"But we still have to be vigilant and prepare ourselves if something bad happens in the future," he continued.
"Duke Leon, how do you feel about this? Is there no similar information or symptoms?" asked Duke Stuart.
The person in question sighed as he looked at the books on the table. Much he picked up in the library through teleportation magic.
A very sticky black smoke in the palace's basement appeared; it crept silently from the floor into the cracks of the walls; the people there did not notice this suspicious object.
The exit spread to the outside area and arrived past the Rhodes residents who were busy doing their activities in the morning.
The lumps that came out profusely spread quickly to all corners of the country protected by Moore's Magic Mana and were eroding.
[Klaak…Ctak] The dome seemed to be sucked in by black smoke as the sky grew darker.
"Hey, look, it's going to rain." shouted a swordsman who had just pulled out a box of apples.
"Seriously, I just brought a hoe to go to the garden," grumbled another.
Duke Leon felt the protector strangely disturbed by his feelings; he darted out of the meeting room and then disappeared using his magic, leaving his co-workers just like that.
Seeing the movement of his attitude, everyone there took action, following him not long after they finally felt it too. The future successors also shudder; a significant and terrible thing is trying to destroy the kingdom.
Duke Leon stood in front of the mansion, tilting his head upwards, the magic dome losing its existence to be replaced by a black mass.
"Where did the smoke come from?" he put on a worried face.
His colleagues who had just arrived also saw the phenomenon; people went out to see why the sky was so dark. There were also stopped their work only to turn their eyes up through the windows of the servants in the Moore residence, looking restless and frightened.
A wind of fear spread throughout the empire, piercing past Duke Leon and the others, making them shudder.
"Run! Hide the guests and evacuate everyone from here!" came a loud voice from Duke Owen.
The landowner ran towards the other Mana Controllers, patting each shoulder and enveloping them using his magic like Altair's magic circle. Immediately all the Mana Controls dispersed, leaving Duke Leon still looking up at the dark sky.
While looking out the window to work, Saintess went to the king's palace and felt Saintess walking in haste. He tried to shudder.
"Sorry for our impudence, King Benedict; something dangerous is going on," he said, bowing his head, trying to hide his worried face.
"We know what's going on; before that happens, give orders to evacuate the people of the Rhodes kingdom," added the Saintess, his eyes swiftly blazing with reassurance to those in front of him.
King Benedict looked at him, looking very calm yet, overcome with the feeling of worry trying to protect many people's lives.
"Okay," he answered confidently.
After receiving orders and blessings from King Benedict to save the people, the Saintess gave orders to all the soldiers in the palace to evacuate the people around the capital.
Everyone gathered in front of the large courtyard; they looked so confused by the sudden action that a cry echoed there.
"What is this?" asked a citizen who looked around and walked towards a palace soldier; he was seen holding armor, ready to strike a fist.
"What happened?" asked a woman holding her infant child.
People shuddered; the inside felt sick of getting out of the san that the entrance couldn't be managed anymore. The knights had difficulty bringing order to those who insisted on their own opinion.
"This is an evacuation order from the Saintess," replied King Benedict, having just emerged from the balcony where he had sat during Darren's coming-of-age ceremony last night, looking at his bewildered subjects.
"Everyone will immediately head to the dungeons for evacuation!" shouted a loud voice; hearing the number one crucial person say such a thing, they finally fell silent. It's like a flock of sheep being led into a stable.
Finally, the knights could march. People understood why they were now being evacuated; the sky was as dark as night, making fear overflow and starting to crowd the room.
The royal family walked first at the front, escorted by many soldiers, the Saintess leading the way to the dungeon; they tried their best to control the people who were jostling in.
While moving people to hide, they found a path in front of the room emitting black smoke that was the source of it; he quickly conveyed what he saw through Duke Leon's magic.
"There is no place for us to evacuate here!" he said, which was heard by his comrades; they listened to his voice, the noise of the people behind, and the noise there. It means the order to save all the people of Rhodes has come down.
Knights from all the Mana Control families raced on their horses to pick up challenging people to evacuate, each located quite far from the other.
Jase, Dareen, Van, Ronan, and Hale wanted to see Duke Leon looking at each other; the situation this time was awful for their residents. He used a liaison to bring them together with him. He used his fingers to eject the Mana butterfly and fly into the high sky.
"Look around you and see, are there any butterflies like this?" he commanded.
They obeyed his orders to look around and look for the intended.
Ronan shouted, "There!"
Everyone turned their gazes towards the designated direction; their presence with Duke Leon was quite far away in the tower, whereas currently, they were in front of the mansion.
