Darren walked down the hall. He had not slept for several days. King Benedict and the Mana controllers were still discussing yesterday's matter standing behind the window, looking out at the clearing where Mary was weeping as he rushed down. The man smiled bitterly.
He was the only family that belonged to complement each other and often always troubled him. Immediately stopping the daydream, he didn't want to do a wasted and slumped job, pulling out all the books, hoping he had missed something.
Leaf after sheet, book after book has been read and written. Yesterday's action during the extermination was unexpected. It could be due to luck. After finding a few things, Darren rushed to clean up some books that were brought to return them to their previous position.
To help solve the problem this time, he must first find his father. He is still in the royal room. Darren ran towards the stables. The knight's gaze was reluctant to disturb, and Darren walked to look for mounts to ride with panting breath. The knights' horses were busy taking care of their own. He didn't care what happened to them, even though Darren had a big hand in saving the people of Rhodes. After all, they also didn't see firsthand how heroic action was in killing the creatures that brought out the monsters.
Darren looked to all sides, saw no horses to use, and walked towards the gate, no one blocking him out. Focusing Mana on his feet, jumping from tree to tree, hoping he could enter the palace safely.
The capital Rhodes looked back to normal as if nothing had happened. Dareen was standing on one of the branches of a nearby tree. Looking around the building, there could be a ban on entry by the palace guards. He circled the palace, looking for an opening to sneak.
"Well, now find my father and tell me where he is," he said after snooping.
While scattering the same butterfly the last time he used it, he searched and found it waiting a second. There were so many places guarded and blocked by magic Mana that no one intruder dared to pry into the activities of the people who inhabited them.
While jumping over a tree, he glimpsed his father's Mana flying in a clearing. However, he was not there. They just fly around the place.
"There must be a key to getting in around here," Dareen said as he looked around the field, his hands busy fumbling around.
It didn't take long to stick it out in the air. It felt warm and cold, stinging like a small electric current when touched on the fingertips. Darren teleported Mana that way.
Creeping upwards in a giant dome pattern, Duke Leon sensed the magic in the middle of his conversation with the Mana Controllers.
"Wait…" Duke Leon said while gesturing to them.
All lead and immediately fell silent, waiting for orders.
"What is it, Duke Leon?" King Benedict asked him.
"Forgive me, king, for stopping this conversation so suddenly," he replied.
Darren, whose essential side still couldn't find a gap, was suddenly surprised by the loss of Mana and replaced by the appearance of crucial people gathering in front of his eyes.
He found his father and the Mana Controls discussing with their king and wanted to rush inside, but Duke Leon forbade it by giving a signal and could only hear their conversation, unnoticed by the people there.
He did not understand why his father forbade him to join there, even though he was carrying something significant this time.
"After yesterday's incident, that dragon came from its grave under the palace," said Duke Leon.
A floating screen beside him shaped like a scroll stretched wide in the middle showed the palace's dungeons.
The man wearing his magician's clothes depicted a reenactment of how it appeared when Saintess and the people were evacuated down there with cute chibi-shaped images. Dareen could only stare at her father's unique drawing and wanted to laugh.
"The taste is unique. Luckily the visualization is good," said Darren in his heart.
They were focusing and paying serious attention to Duke Leon's explanation.
"Maybe if I made gingerbread, it would sell well," he said, speechless.
Darren followed the explanation inside.
"How does he know how to kill the dragon?" Duke Erica asked everyone.
Darren felt he was being talked about and felt uncomfortable.
"He learned a lot in the library during the sentencing process. He's been in trouble with Moore's rule. So maybe he found something there," replied Duke Leon in a confident tone.
'Hey, I thought it would be just the two of us,' The young man said, a little annoyed.
"Has he also studied forbidden arts?" asked King Benedict with a suspicious look.
Annoyance enveloped him because the knowledge he gained had no relation to what was being discussed now.
"I guarantee no, Your Majesty." Duke Leon replied as he bowed his head in a sign of respect.
Hearing the answer that was so convincing made the atmosphere, which was a little tense at first, feel loose.
"I've also done research using the Bedros family's hard stone, and it's had a bad effect on him." He walks carrying a wooden town to which the power of his family is attached.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't bring him here because he was afraid it would have a bad impact if he left the Moore residence, so I can only describe the results of my experiment through this picture." Then it shows some simulations as previously presented.
Again, Duke Leon showed another chibi image in front of everyone in the middle of a severe conversation-making. Darren tries hard not to laugh.
The meeting took a long time for him, who was in a state of waiting and could only listen to the conversation of those who conveyed their respective hypotheses. However, some things made the young man feel he was not in line with his thinking, and some were missing from what they were saying.
Not long after that, an inscription appeared in front of Dareen.
"Meet me in the passageway of the palace dungeon." Receiving the message made the golden-haired man happy.
He hurried away from where he stood and came to the king's palace. After arriving at the castle, Darren saw many knights guarding every corner of the room and had to deal with the royal guards.
Remembering his father's message that he wanted to talk about something made him even more excited. Without thinking about what happened next, he steadies himself forward, walking calmly and alertly.
"Ehem..." the sound of snoring just passed. They didn't show what was researching his arrival and just let the young man give.
"I think there will be resistance from the guards here. Huh.."
The ladies-in-waiting and several important nobles looked at him. They started muttering while their faces were not shown.
"What do you need here?" said one of the nobles. He was wearing a knight's armor.
"I was sent to the lower chambers of the palace by the high-ranking mage, Duke Leon," Darren answered confidently.
"You can't pass here. Walk the other way." While pointing his hand elsewhere.
Without saying thank you, the man left him alone.
