The day had ended so fast and Sheryl hated that, even though she was looking forward to watching Jordan swim she knew she had to face Gal again with her fury.
Humble Hearts School was a nice school that ensured its students followed their dreams and take their gifts and talents seriously, it was known for its brilliant shows to its excellent swimming team. The school performed well on its co-curricular has it did its curricular studies.
Sheryl had looked at the school not to learn about it, the school could perform as it fit for all she could care. She had looked at it to make sure every student was who they said they were, the school had wolves as well as humans. Call her paranoid but she didn't want to take any chance for history to repeat itself.
Can you blame her for that?
She knew Gal stayed with the Oceans Pack, a pack where every werewolf was a lone wolf.
It was a house for any werewolf, the lost or the ones running away from something, or hiding like Gal Ryder and her brother. The important thing was for you to stay peaceful with others, and mind your own business.
No one knew who Gal was, no one knew she was supposed to have her pack. She arrived there and settle like any pack member without showing any signs of being royal, she was like that. She didn't want to bring any attention to her.
Sheryl remembered how alpha Mia Ryder used to be just as humble. As they grew up, alpha Mia didn't have any problems associating with any wolf. She was everyone's favorite and that's what made her the perfect alpha for their parents.
As a leader knew why she had to remain humble, it made the pack love and respected her even more
Sheryl said hi to other coaches and went to sit on one of the benches, she loved sitting far away from them, the last thing she wanted was anyone starting to talk to her about her pack members or their family.
Since the Humble Heart School consisted of both humans and the werewolves, of course, the human didn't know, Sheryl didn't want to get attached to anyone. It was like she was a bad person only that she wanted to remain focused on why she was there.
She had a mission.
Only one purpose; to get Gal and Jordan Ryder out of that town and back to where the Ryder Pack was.
They were about five swimming coaches because Jordan's swimming team comprised of kids between the age of thirteen to fifteen years. They required care; the school didn't want any kid drowning in the swimming pool.
Jordan had already arrived and changed into his tiny little cute swimming costume, he looked so happy. He was talking with his teammates and looked at Timothy smiling, Timothy had no swimming costume he was there to watch Jordan swim. Jordan was busy showing his teammates the swimming style he was going to show them today, he was elaborating to them on how to swim as he did the previous which made him win.
Sheryl knew what she was going to do next was going to bite her back but she did it anyway. She went to where Jordan's team was and call Jordan.
Gal had warned her against speaking to her brother, Sheryl knew Gal didn't want the kid to start questioning her on who the woman was, but she had to. And after they were done talking maybe she could ask Jordan not to tell his sister, it wasn't a bad idea.
Jordan came and stood next to his coach ready to answer any questions concerning swimming, and he was shocked after the woman asked her how he was doing with a caring look.
"I am doing fine coach Sheryl." He answered, he didn't think too much into it and thought maybe the coach was asking everyone on the team how they were.
Sheryl had begun with that question to make the boy less alert about what she was going to ask him. She even wanted to tell him she was his godmother and not just "coach Sheryl." But that wasn't how it worked; Gal would kill her.
"So how is your sister, is she okay? Are you guys doing well?" She asked.
Hesitantly, Jordan looked at Timothy, and Timothy walked to where they stood. He greeted Sheryl and leaned on Jordan, and as if that gave Jordan energy he answered the woman only one word, "Good."
Sheryl nodded; she didn't know if she was supposed to continue now that Timothy was standing there. She wanted their talk to be as private as possible.
"That is good, that is good," Sheryl said, trying to think of something to tell Timothy to do so as she would remain alone with Jordan. Timothy smiled at her, and the woman smiled back. Maybe she wasn't supposed to, maybe scare the boy with a hard look.
A perfect thought came into her mind and she asked the boy to go to the coaches' office and bring a book from the top of her desk. She wasn't sure if there was a book, but didn't care. Timothy left.
"So, you love swimming? Why was your sister telling you to stop swimming?" Sheryl inquired from Jordan. She wanted to know if the boy knew the reason why her sister was so adamant about him stopping swimming.
Jordan was staring at the coach curiously, the talk wasn't supposed to be about Gal, and before he could ask Sheryl why she was asking about her sister the lead coach called all the swimmers. Jordan asked Sheryl if she could leave, he wasn't going to miss hearing what the lead coach wanted to tell them, and before he could leave Sheryl asked her not to tell Gal.
Sheryl wanted to pinch herself, remembering the fact that whenever you tell someone not to tell they were going to tell. Timothy came back with a book which wasn't even hers, Sheryl took it and thanked him.
The coach finished talking to them and ask them to practice and reminded them to be cautious while swimming, the practice began with Jordan teaching others how to freestyle and after that, they practiced some showing off how good they were at swimming.
Sheryl stood there, at the exact position Jordan had left her standing, wishing she could shout, "That is my godson." But she wouldn't, Jordan only knew her as "the coach" and already she had asked her about his sister which meant the boy was going to ask his questions.
The practice ended and Jordan went to change and meet with Timothy at the door.
Every kid left chatting with their friends happy, but not Sheryl. She was disappointed.
Gal Ryder hadn't shown up, two days in a row.
She walked outside and followed Jordan; Sheryl watched him going into a woman's car, it was Timothy's mother and she knew that Gal wasn't going to show up completely.
She wanted to run to the car and ask if she could take Jordan home as if that wouldn't have been any creepier.
All she wanted was to know what was going on, why had Gal not shown up to pick Jordan up two days in a row, she wanted to know if something was wrong so she could offer some help even if she knew Gal wouldn't agree, she would force.
She wished she could know more, whether Jordan was prepared for his first turn.
But above all, it was only wishing, and after watching the car driving away she turned back and headed to the office.
