Synopsis
Waking up from a nightmare always had my heart racing, but this time I had been crying. Slowly sitting up in bed I touched two fingers to my cheek, feeling the dampness that was my tears. When I woke up like this I never remembered what it was I had been dreaming. So could I call it a nightmare or just a really bad dream?.... Sitting up slowly and letting my legs hang over the side of the bed, I inhaled deeply but that only made me sniffle. Sighing, I used my pillow to whip my face, then flipped it over. Gross "Hey." His voice was husky from sleep, and I felt a warm large hand midway up my back. I turned looking behind me and faced him, his hand was now on my side and it felt nice being so warm. "Hi sorry, go back to bed." I rubbed my face with my palm. He sat up blinking sleep from his eyes, his bright green eyes flickered to those of a brilliant gold before he blinked and they were back to his normal green, his eyebrows were pulled tight together, looking a little concerned. It no longer bothered me no scared me when I saw his eyes shift from his own to his wolfs. "Hey what's wrong?" He cleared his throat. Giving him a warm smile I scooted closed to him in bed, put my head to his chest and sighed. "Its nothing, I just woke up and had been crying.... I guess." His whole body was so warm, it felt like he was on fire, but whenever I had asked if he was too warm he always said that was just his normal temperature. He wrapped his arms around me, making me feel safe and warm. It came in handy when the nights were cold like this. "Another nightmare? Or you don't remember again?" He started to stroke my hair. I peeked up at him from under my lashes, and lifted my head slightly. "I can't remember." "Of course." His heart beat was steady, and there was a rumble in his chest as I heard him chuckle. His arms dropped from around me as his palm came up to caress my check. I leaned into his touch, stealing the warmth from it as we watched each other. His face was a couple inches from mine. I watched his lips, then back up at his eyes. He smirked, knowing what I was silently asking, as he brought his face closer to mine, only a hairs breath. His breathing was warm on my face as I closed my eyes in anticipation of the feel of his lips on mine. Wolves rarely took humans for a mate he once said, and I was lucky I was his.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

It wasn't like I was popular, or the normal skinny blonde or even brunette type, I was 5'5, and weighed 180 by the time I was sixteen. I wasn't great with school, B-C average really, and I was happy....ish.

"Alex!.... Alexandria! Alexandria Domal! Get over here!"

That voice again...Ugh. Mother. I rolled over and stretcher, What time was it? Searching blindly for my phone under the pillow I finally found it and brought it to my face. 6:30am.....6:30am oh shit!

I hopped out of bed like a fire was light under my ass. Shit Shit SHHHIIITTT.

"I'm coming!" Grabbing the skirt and button up shirt hanging over my bed frame I pulled it on. I had 15 minutes to get ready and walk my ass 3 city blocks to the bus stop or else I wouldn't be on time for school. Again. For the 3x in a row, or was it the 4th? Maybe I could ask...nah he would say no.

"Alexandria Domal, so help me god you better be dressed and almost out the door!" Her steps were getting closer, 4 solid steps and she was at my door. I had pulled my cloths on and was just slipping my knee high covered feet into my shoes when the door flung open. Her face was red, and I could practically see the fumes coming out of her ears.

"Hi mom." I gave her a cheeky grin as I grabbed my backpack from the floor next to the door frame.

She looked me up and down before rolling her eyes. "You are gonna be late again. Hurry your ass up before I beat you." She was wearing her work 'gear', gray pant suit but without the blazer. She worked in accounting for some health care company. We looked a lot alike, I guess...if I lost the weight like she kept telling me to. We both had brunette hair except hers was darker then min, plus my hair was curly where hers was straight. We also had the same button nose and ear shape. But I have fair complexion where she was a dark caramel color. My father had been fair skinned as well.

She said they met at some family gathering or was it school? I'm not sure, but she regrets the decisions she made in that relationship...or even being in a relationship with him. Whenever she was angry she would take it out on me and say she wished she never met him and didn't have me.

*"If it wasn't for him I would never have had you. He told me he wouldn't leave me if I had you, and where is he now? HA! Scum bag. You look just like him, makes me sick."*

"She's gonna be late again." George... my brother, well step brother, but still my brother drawled. He walked past my mom as I tried to scoot past her, my back to the door frame and wall as I inched on by. His pack in one hand while twirling the car keys in his other hand. God he annoyed me.

"Why don't you drop me off? You are going that way anyways?' I was hopeful but didn't hold my breath. he always told me no because he had to pick up his friends, and he was embarrassed of people knowing we were related.

*"I don't want people knowing I have a fat sister."* His exact words a year ago when he first started to drive. But i was practically always praying he would take me. It was the beginning of November and the weather was getting colder, walking was always a hassle for me now because of the cold weather.

George looked me up and down before rolling his eyes, and sighing loudly. "Fine but only too Burok St. nothing past that." He waved me on, as I jumped excitedly.

Yes! No walking in the cold. But then I remembered I hadn't brushed my teeth or hair, and Burok St. was a 15 minute walk from my school. Well I guess it was the half way point from both our schools. George went to an all boys high school, Devon Worth Gents High, while I went to Valmont Lads High.

"Um....I-" I was cut off when he said "You have 5 minutes I'll be in the car."

Crap cake. I took off to the bathroom and brushed my teeth like my life depended on it, while simultaneously trying to fix my hair into a pony tail. It'll have to do for now, I could fix myself at school. Wiping my mouth with the towel I ran to the front door and grabbed my gym bag. Just as I opened the door I heard his SUV come to life.

Shit shit, he's gonna leave me.

My mom was behind me and yelling to my dad that she would see him later. I forgot my phone. Crap. She must have been directly behind me because when I stopped to turn around and go back in the house for my phone, she bumped into me from behind and groaned.

"Seriously Alex, get out of the way." She pushed me to the side, practically making me fall over onto my butt. Moving to side and letting her pass, I rushed back into the house to get my phone when George honked his horn with inpatients. Leaving the house as fast as I could, and hopped in the front seat of his car.

"Uh no, to the back." He didn't even look at me just sucked his teeth. Frowning at him i got out and went to the back seat.

Sheesh no heated seats for me then. Rolling my eyes, and leaning back to look at the ceiling of the car, maybe I should have walked after all.

----

Guessing I had closed my eyes, and fallen back to sleep when the car came to a slow stop, and I heard the doors open and closed. The seat next to me dipped a bit as someone sat next to me and I head two voices.

"Hey Geo, whoa who's this?" the one next to me said. his voice light, friendly and it cracked once while he was talking. Must be in my grade or a freshman, because I heard some of 'Geo's' class mates and the all sounded like truckers with hard deep voices. And wait... Geo? when I tried to call him that he flipped out...Ass.

"My little sister." My heart squeezed when he called me little sister not step sister.

"I thought you were an only child. You never said you had a little sister." Whoever was talking got closer to me so much so I could feel his warm breath on my face. It smelt like spearmint, reminding me of gum. He took a couple of sniffs at me. Was he smelling me, weirdo.

"Well my dad didn't have any kids, she's from his wife."

Ouch, and there it was.

"Ah so your not related, Uh good to kno-" he was cut off abruptly by another's voice.

"Enough Elias, You talk to much in the morning." His voice was like fire, and hard like stone. Almost making me want to sink back into my seat just from hearing him. But something deep in side my chest felt hot and uncomfortable. As if someone put a hot pot on my chest and left it there.

There was a groan next to me. "No fun Aries." I couldn't feel his breath anymore so he must have leaned away from me.

"You are always so grumpy in the morning Aries." George chuckled and continued to drive. "Late night again?"

"Yea you should have seen him last night, he was awesome. He-" there was movement and a gust of air next to me before a pop, and Elias groaned. "Ouch. oh sorry forgot."

Someone must have hit him or something because he stopped talking all together before George spoke again. "Its fine she cant hear you when she's asleep. She's a dead sleeper."

"No." His voice sounded annoyed and tired. "She may be 'Asleep' but we will talk about this later." I heard how he put emphases on asleep. How could he know I wasn't asleep, he didn't know me. This was the first time I met either of them.

The rest of the car ride was quiet, no one spoke another word, and I wanted to open my eyes but I couldn't. It felt too hot in the car, almost suffocating, and the air was tense. We must have been driving for 25 minutes before George pulled over and stopped.

"What are you doing?" Every time he talked it was like a hot towel was being laid on top of my body.

"I told her I was dropping her off here at Burok, and she could walk the rest." George's voice sounded annoyed now.

Suddenly it sounded like an animal was in the car making me jump, and my eyes flash wide open. I looked straight to George and he was having a stare down with Whoever it was in the front seat. And dear God...actually, God was an accurate word to describe him. Wait wait wait....who growled like an animal...how could that noise even be made?

"Take her all the way. We have the time." He never turned his head but he broke eye contact with George to give me a quick look. And his eyes were a deep green, almost like a pine tree. I sucked in a breath, how was he so good looking? But as we watched each other I had to look away, it felt almost dirty by looking at him, like I was in the wrong.

"Now now guys,...we are scaring...ugh, what's your name?" The voice next to me made me jump once again, as I turned to him. He had suck a goofy smile on his face. He looked really young, his hair was a light brown and tousled almost like he just got out of bed and that was it, it complement his darker skin tone. He had a pointed nose and full lips, with one of those chin dimples, but it wasn't too prominent. He looked like the guy in the front seat, at least what I could see from his profile, with only slight differences. He wore the same uniform as my brother, but he only had two bars on the shoulder. Oh, he's a sophomore. Devon worth uses bars on the shoulders to represent what grade level you were, where my school used lines down our sweaters or stars on the shirt collar.

I spluttered before answering. "A...A...Alex."

He gave me another goofy smile, "Alex, aye. Hi I'm Elias." sticking his hand out for me to shake it. Taking his hand in mine I noticed his was much larger, but that didn't make sense he looked so small sitting next to me. Like a puppy with large paws and a small frame. Shaking his hand I couldn't help but notice how warm it felt, as if he had a fever. "And that's my brother Aries." he tilted his head to the front seat, as I took a quick glace at the guy, then back at our hands before letting go. So they were related good to know.

"George." Aries growled out again, and it was like the whole car vibrated. What the hell. George looked down then at me, before frowning and pulling the car back onto the road.

"Ugh no, stop I can walk." I said grabbing my bag to my chest, hoping he would stop and let me out. Pft the car just vibrated, I didn't want his engine to stall or something with me in it.

"Its fine Alexandria," George grumbled out while driving the last few blocks. I was in trouble, I could feel it from his tone of voice, he was so upset with me, so I slunk back in my seat putting my sweater on and pulling the hoody over my head, just as we arrived pulling up to the side of my school. I quickly grabbed my bag pack and jumped out just as he was stopping.

"K well bye." I called over my shoulder, not looking back.

"Alexandria!" A voice boomed from the car making me stop in my tracks. A shiver went threw my body as he spoke my name, and that hot feeling in my chest came back.

Crap what does he want. I turned around and raised my eyebrow at him. Now I could get a full view of him. His hair was straight and cut short, dark almost black, with thick eyebrows that framed his dark green eyes. He looked like something from our history books. He looked so large in the front seat of my brothers car. Almost like he couldn't fit properly, or was his chair too far forward? How was he related to Elias when they didn't look much alike other then their skin color, maybe nose and their lips. Wait what? No don't look at his lips...Why was I even looking there?

"Yes?" I groaned as I looked around myself, girls who were being dropped off had now stopped and were looking at me with their mouths open. He was just smirking the whole time like he was enjoying it. Or maybe he caught me staring at his lips.

He moved and pulled my gym bag out of the car holding it with just two fingers. Damn he must be strong because my bag must weigh at least 15lbs with my track and soccer gear in it. "Forgetting something?"

I walked back to the car, holding my breath and snatched it back. He pinned me with his eyes, I was fighting to not look away, but as I held my breath I couldn't hold his gaze any longer and huff out before looking down "Yea...uh thanks." I turned around so fast and stumbled. I could hear his chuckle again from behind me. It was deep and throaty, and I felt my cheeks heating up.

He called out to me again "Alexandria." I shrunk once again feeling a shiver as I turned my head to look back, "It was nice meeting you."

Was he crazy... The first bell rang signaling we had 20 minutes to get our stuff before class started. I tried to smile but I'm sure it came out a grimace. Ugh was he nuts... He had to be. Turning back to school I practically ran up the steps trying to get away from everyone staring at me and whispering.

Once I was inside I pulled my hoody down and went straight to the Junior hall, where my locker would be. I had 2 more steps to my locker when a body landed on my back, as legs wrapped around my waist and I heard her squeal.

"No fucking way. Did your brother just drop you off with the Dawnwind brothers, and with Aries Dawnwind calling your name no less?" Grace Alice, she was a good friend of mine...no my best friend and she had a habit of jumping on my back or on any ones back really when she was excited. She reminded me of a pixie, slender and small with short hair that always stuck out everywhere. "No, you saw wrong, and heard wrong, just wrong, wrong wrong. I have no idea who they are and no one dropped me off." I leaned back to try and get her off me.

"Your such a bad lier." I could hear the pout in her voice as she slid off my back and leaned against the locker next to mine to face me. "I'm surprised your brother didn't drop you off at Burok like normal." If only she knew he wanted to but was stopped by Aries.

"Yea well he was being generous this morning." Grabbing the books I need for my classes before lunch and shoved my bag into the locker below mine so i wouldn't lug it around all day.

"Well lucky you. They are both so cute..." she let out a long sigh. "If only, they are both so cute and Elias is just a year younger then us and he always goes to the school dances." We started walking to our first period before she stopped and looked at me seriously. "Why were they in the car with your brother?"

Shrugging as I kept walking "No idea. I know he picks up his friends before he goes to school but honestly I didn't know it would be them." Ah yes. Them. Aries Dawnwind was widely know by the girls, I heard he dated around but never took on girl too seriously. His record was about a month or so, so far and that had been with a senior named Ellie Mason. They called her Honey Mason Jar because apparently she was so good in bed. Mental eye roll. She was popular here at school, straight A student from what I know. She was my big sister my freshman year but then stopped talking to me once she found out my brother was George. It didn't bother me much because honestly she only talked to me the first 2 months. It was a program here at school where the sophomores helped the freshman out so they would know their way around the school.

Elias on the other hand was known for being sweet and cute. Never got into fights, always had jokes for people, or so I was told. So far it seemed to be true. He was nice to me in the car, and super chatty.

"Oh, tomorrow want me to pick you up?" She caught up with me and smiled.

"Sure I'd really appreciate that. This way I wont have to take the bus or wait in the cold." I smiled back at her as I bumped her shoulder lightly as we walked into class. It was becoming winter and I hated walking in the cold weather.
