I woke the next morning tired, so tired that my head was pounding from lack of sleep. It was Saturday so I didn't have any classes, nor did I have anything else to do for the weekend. What I did notice was the dead silence in the house. Slipping from my bed, my legs felt heavy almost like cinder blocks had replaced my feet. Opening the door I poked my head out and heard nothing. The house was dead quiet, not a single word other then my breathing. Where had everyone gone?
I walked back to my bedroom and threw myself on my bed as I riffled my hand under the pillows trying to find my phone. I felt it then the hard piece of plastic and metal touch my fingers, just as I grabbed it, it vibrated in my hand. Well I'll be damn.
I pulled it out from under the pillow and turned it over looking at it. I had 3 missed messages, and 3 texts messages. Looking through the missed calls I saw Grace called me twice and one from George. When I checked my texts.
I left, if anyone asked I'm with friends - George
The next.
We left for our trip wont be back till Wednesday - Mom
And the last surprised me.
Morning Beautiful - Aries
Aries text surprised me the most out of all of them. It didn't bother me that my parents had left, they normal left with out letting us know. But it was Aries that surprised me.... Beautiful? I contemplated what to tell him. His words confused me so much that I was dumb, dumb because I didn't have word to reply back.
What was he getting at? What did he want from me? And what was his comment about yesterday, about soulmates?
Should I message him back? If I did what would I say. Before I could message back my phone started to vibrate again and Graces number popped up on my screen. I sighed, thank God Grace was there to save me, answering it was a relief when I answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Oh thank God you answered." Her voice almost sounded panicked.
"What happened?" I asked sitting up like a bullet in bed, my hair fell around me in awhile mess of black. I had very curly kinky dark brown almost black hair. It was unruly, unkept, unmanageable, and all around just a mess. Some got in my mouth, an I tried spatting and swishing my free hand to keep it away from my face.
"Okay...so don't freak out, but remember when I said I'd help you? You know for the research paper, and Math and everything else?"
"Yyyeeaaa?" I drew it out confused and concerned. "What about it?"
"Well, I need to push that back, but I promise Allie, I swear I'll help you next week. I'll go over and spend the night and we can work through our class work." Her voice sounded rushed and her breathing was coming out in pants.
"Grace...are you ok?" I was concerned and very confused, what the hell was she doing? "Is there something wrong? What are you doing?"
Grace squealed and then I heard a thump and what sounded popping. "Yes!" She screamed but her voice sounded garbled and harsh. "Call you later!" She screamed but the end of her screamed sounded like an animals howl before the line went dead.
Panicked I tried to call her back numerous times, but no one answered me so I called her mom. But when her mother answered me she gave me a vague excuse, "She's not feeling good honey, she's been super sick, and in bed, but she will be back to school on Monday. Oh! She said she would spend the night at our house Monday night for Tuesday. Well got to go honey by." She was quick and straight to the point with a distraction then she hung up.
I pulled the phone from my ear and just stared at my phone. First Aries and his weird question yesterday, and now Grace and her mother...What was going on?
I flopped back down onto the bed as my face hit the pillow and groaned, ok...ok no panicking and no stressing out and no worrying. I lifted my head and thought for a second, I had school work to do and I had the house to myself. I grinned and a wicked thought popped into my head.
4 hours later I sat on the sofa with a bowl full of grapes, another full of crackers, a 62oz of water and another full of juice. I sat my fat ass on the sofa, eating snacks and bingeing a Netflix show called Supernatural. I was laughing, I was yelling and I was crying at the Tv. I was so emersed in the show I hadn't been paying attention to my cell phone, so when I finally looked down at it I gasped in surprise.
18 text messages, and all of them were from Aries.
*Morning Beautiful.
*Alie, Alie, Alie Cat.
*Are you ignoring me?
*Hello?
*Are you ok? Is there something wrong?
*I really hope your ok.
*Alex, you gotta text me back, your starting to make me worried
*Alex, If I don't hear anything from you soon I will head over there.
*Alex?
*Alexandria?
*So help me Alex I'm going to get in my car and head over.
*If you don't text me in 30minutes I'm going to send someone if not myself over there!
The last five messages were a count down and the last message was at 3. I jumped as my phone buzzed again the new text message was from Aries of course and now he was at 2. AH, damn it. I quickly texted him back, annoyed that I had to pause my show and him popping my bubble of happiness.
Stop the count down, I'm here, I'm here, What? - Me
I was expecting him to message me back but instead he called me.
"Hello?" I answered a little startled at the fact that he would actually call me.
"Where were you? Where are you?" His voice was loud in my ear, and I had to pull the phone back from my ear from his pitch.
"Ah, hey wow lower your voice. I'm here I'm at home, I've been home. Why?"
"You never texted me from this morning, I was worried."
"Sorry? I've watching my future husbands and forgot I had a phone."
"Excuse me?" His voice raised and I giggled.
"Yea, and now that you got ahold of me, and I'm fine I need to get back to my men."
"Wait! What men? What fiancé? W-" I cut him off with a click of my phone and smiled, I sent him a quick text of a winkie face emoji and took a picture of the tv then sent it to him. He sent me back a skull and the facepalm emoji.
Laughing like a crazy person I flipped my phone upside down, turning back to the tv and pushed play. No one was gonna stop me from watching my boys while I had the house to myself.
No one.
