Chereads / Aries Human Mate / Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

I kept my head down and my eyes to the ground, not wanting to cause more of a scene then I have so far. Girls who were walking in kept looking at me as I stepped on to the campus grounds. Grace was waiting for me by the locked as I hurried to unlock my locker. She gave me a questioning look but I just shook my head not walking to talk about it. God seriously was he about to... NO! Don't think about it Alex, just ignore it for now.

Grabbing my books and cramming them viciously into my bag while slamming my locker close knowing it would automatically lock itself, and walked off with Grace in toe behind me, she was still quiet while watching me. I know she was concerned but I wasn't about to tell her right now, I needed to think or at least clear my mind.

All my classes till lunch dragged on nearly killing me with boredom, all the while I stewed in my anger and confusion. Was Aries about to tell me he was flirting with me this whole time? I shook my head of the thoughts as I walked back to my locker. A firm hand gripped my arm making me turn when I reached my locker fumbling with the lock. Turning my head I saw Grace standing next to me her hand wrapped around my arm stopping me from fiddling with my locker.

"What?" I asked with a snap, making Grace let go of my arm. She took a step back looking me up and down concern written on her face. "Sorry." I watched her as she took a step back from me, but I took a step word her pulling her in for a hug. "I really am sorry, I didn't mean it."

"I know, I didn't mean to upset you," She hugged me back with a shrug, before letting me go and moving to open her locker. "So you going to tell me what happened between you and Aries?"

Groaning I turned and stuck my head in my locker and silently screamed, before I looked back to Grace. "He's infuriating!" I growled out, and Grace chuckled at my remark. "What's so funny?"

"You, your funny because you guys are like children. Poking fun at each other making each other mad, I can tell he like you and well...looks like you like him."

"I don't like him," but my voice broke and even I could tell that was a lie. Grace gave me her look, that look like she knew I was lying and wanted me to fess up. "Okay fine, he might be starting to grow on me." I rolled my eyes putting my books away only to pull out the new ones for my last two classes.

Grace giggled again before she got quiet and I felt a hard tap to my foot. "Ow Grace wha-" I turned to look at her but her face was set in stone looking past me. Pivoting on my foot I came face to face with Ellie. Her blonde hair framed her face like liquid gold her light eyes shown bright and welcoming.

"Alexandria right?" Her voice was happy and almost perky, like she was happy to seem me, but a shiver went down my spine.

Great now she's gonna threaten me to stay away from him like all those means girl movies. "Yea, Hi Ellie." I shifted my foot to kick Grace back as she just turned her head tried to ignore our conversation.

"Alex, I need to talk to you." Her eyes flicked to over Grace before turning back to me.

"We can talk in front of Grace, its fine." Slinging my bag over my shoulder I closed my locker and leaned my back against it.

"Well, I'm here-"

"You want me to stay away from him, that's fine. But don't talk to me about it, tell him, he's the one who wont sta-"

"Hey wow, no you got it wrong." She chuckled and covered her mouth to hide the smile. "There's nothing going on between me and Aries, I just wanted to tell you," she stopped and smiled before lifting a hand to touch my hair. "Trust him, he's not such a bag guy."

I was confused, so confused my head was starting to spin, "wait...your not."

"Mad? No." She smiled again before letting go of my hair. "We are just friends, his father is my fathers best friend. Nothing has ever happened between us, I don't know why everyone things we were a thing." She scrunched her face up and cringed before shivering. "He's like a brother to me."

My mouth practically fell to the floor at her words, and I felt Grace's hand come up and touch under my chin making me close it. Ok I was wrong, I was so very very wrong. "I'm sorry." I whispered shifting my face from Grace's hand.

"No it's ok, everyone always has something to say about me and my love life that's wrong. I expected you not to listen to it at least. I mean we were friends once." She gave me a soft smile.

God I felt so bad, she was so nice to me when I was a freshman, and she was right I believed all the rumors that everyone said about her. "I'm sorry Ellie."

Ellie waved her hand like she didn't care. "It's fine, doesn't bother me any." She wrapped her arm around mine looking over to Grace and motioning her. "Come on lets go, I'm starving." She giggled pulling me along with her.

"Uh yea," I was still confused but happy she wasn't mad at me with the whole Aries situation. They were just friends nothing more, and Ellie almost seemed to give me her blessing. Wait, no...I couldn't be with Aries, I didn't even know him, what the hell.

Ellie pulled me to the cafeteria and I had to be honest she was nice, she talked about her family, her house. Apparently Grace had been to her house a few time this past week which made me confused, I never knew they even hung out. The rest of our lunch period went on with Grace giggling with Ellie having me completely confused, they seemed like old friends, and yes I was a little jealous. When the bell rang signaling our lunch was over Ellie stopped me from walking with the other wave of students that headed back to class.

"Yea?" I looked over at her with her hand on my shoulder a little worried, great was this where she threatened me?

"Hey I just wanted to tell you," she looked around making sure no one was around before speaking again with a soft smile. "Give Aries a chance, he's a really good guy, he has a strange way of flirting and showing he cares, but give him a chance."

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked her looking around to see hardly anyone was around us now.

"He's like a brother to me, I just want to see him happy." Her eyes seemed to look past me and glaze over, but with a blink they turned a bright gold then back to her bright blue. I hesitated for a second, taking a step back from her while nodding my head at her.

"Yea...right... ok well I'll keep that in mind." Slipping from her hand I turned and walked back to class. Before turning to open the door I heard her voice call out to me.

"Hey Alex, you should answer his calls and texts while you're at it." I looked back at her just to see her wave at me as she entered her own class.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket I looked down to check it, 5 miss calls and over 15 texts all from Aries. Rolling my eyes I put my phone back in my pocket frustrated with him, yes I might like him but I wasn't about to tell him that. God he was starting to become almost creepy about talking to me. Entering class I knew Aries would be waiting for me after class, I would have to deal with him eventually. The thought of seeing him again made my stomach flutter and my heart race. Geez I must be sick...but the thought faded when I remembered what happened back in his car this morning. My cheeks flushed as heat rushed over me at my thoughts. I would see him again and we would have to talk eventually.
