Chapter 7 - Sorrow filled

*unedited*

Alicia stood up proudly, waiting to hear the information the head witches had to relay. She had been successful in gaining enough trust to be able to attend the monthly meeting held by the witches.

"What do you think the meeting is about?"asked Alicia to the witch beside her.

The witch shrugged her shoulders," I don't really know but I heard our other brothers and sisters saying the head witches finally found a way to harm both night creatures."

Alicia pursed her lips, she would have to relay this information to the lord and his brother. But for now, she would silently listen to what others have to say.

The large crowd of witched quieted down when three witches walked in. They looked no older than thirty years, but if one was to stare directly into their eyes, one would be able to see the knowledge and wisdom gained from experience, swirling in their eyes.

Despite the looks of the head witches, no one dared look down at them.

"For centuries our kind have been pushed into hiding. The night creatures and pathetic humans have made sure that we are always lurking in the shadows. But that period is over. Decades of always hidden had noe come to an end! "

The witches listening to one of the head witches speak cheered excitedly. For too long they have lived in constant fear of the other creatures. For too long they have been left to eat the crumbs from the table of the nightly creatures.

"We have already been successful in getting the humans against one of the night creatures.." The head witch continued once the crowd became quiet, "But now it is time for the night creatures to fall!" The head witch raised a small glass tube that contained a silver colored liquid.

Alicia, like others wondered what the potion could do to the night creatures.

...

"It was a pleasure meeting you Gina." Stella waved before entering the carriage with Zoey behind her.

Gina's birthday party had been successful and it was time for the guest s to get going.

Gina looked at the number if carriages that were still parked in the shed and let out a tired sigh, some of the guest had decided to stay at their mansion for the night.

She glanced up at the moonless sky and was glad the moon wasn't going to show it's self today.

" Wouldn't you stay for the night? Its quite late." Gina tried to convince Luna to stay but Luna shook her head,"I'll be alright. Besides, your brother said he will accompany me."

"Which one of them?" Gina asked curiously. Lucas was too busy talking to interacting with the Duke's sister and Nicholas had half of the guests to entertain.

"It's Nicholas. I'm surprised myself." Luna added when she saw Gina purse her lips.

"Are you ready?"Luna turned to see the lord with one hand in his pocket while his other hand held a pocket watch.

Luna nodded."Yes!"

Gina waved Luna good bye before stepping back into the mansion.

" Would you have you dinner at the dinning room?" Michael asked with his hands behind him.

"I'll rather not. Too many people. If you could, please bring it up to my room." The butler gave Gina a short bow before leaving to order some servants to begin serving dinner.

...

Luna stole a quick glance from Nicholas before continuing to look out the carriage's window.

Since they began the journey back to her home, neither she nor him had spoken a single word.

"You seem to have something to say." Luna turned to the Lord with a confused look on her face.

"With the way you were looking at me.."

He noticed?,thought Luna before she cleared her throat.

"I wanted to apologize for not being there when you parent passed away."Luna said.

She noticed the way the lord stiffened by the mention of his parents death.

"It isn't your fault. It wasn't anyone's fault." The lord said the latter part of his statement in a whisper.

Luna nooded. Her presence then wouldn't have had any difference.

The carriage became quiet again with only the sound if the carriage being pulled by the horses.

When they reached the town Luna lived in with her aunt and uncle, they noticed a slight commotion.

Luna eyes widened when she saw a man snap one of the townsmen's head like it was a twig.

The town was being raided by wolves!

...

After Luna's aunt baid her goodbye, she went to the kitchen to prepare the evening meal. She knew the was a high probability of Luna coming late so she preserved her dinner for her. But what seemed to be wrong was that her husband was yet to arrive.

He had earlier gone to the forest to collect some wood for the fireplace and was yet to come.

She couldn't tell how relieved she was when her husband barged into their house.

But something seemed off.

"We need to leave!" her husband said in a rushed tone. His face was covered with sweat and with his heavy breathing it was obvious he had ran all the way home.

"What about Luna? She will be coming soon." She said, becoming more anxious by the second.

"She will be alright. I'm sure the lord would take care of her but we need to go. Now!" Her husband said before throwing her a small gun.

Luna's aunt was about to protest but when she heard the eerie screams of people she knew, she went along with her husband.

"Let me take few th-" The door to their house suddenly broke opened and behind it stood a dark figure.

"Look what we have here.." The person growled. Taking a sniff of the air he said,"My, my. Hansonians."

The person took a step forward revealing his blood red eyes and monstrous fangs.

Luna's uncle pointed the gun at the werewolf who had entered his house.

"How naive,"Commented the wolf,"I thought by now everyone would know; bullets don't harm us."

Luna's uncle smirked,"This would." He pressed the trigger to realeas the silver bullet that sunk deep into the wolf's skin.

The wolf hissed as the familiar pain crawled through every nerve in his body.

His eyes narrowed on the gun that contained silver bullets.

Luna's uncle tried to take another shot at the wolf but he saw it coming and dodged the incoming bullet.

He leaped forward and held Luna's uncle's neck and raised him up in the air.

"Let him go!" Luna's aunt pointed the gun at the woof with shaky hands.

"I-I'll shoot if you don't!"She continued to threaten.

Unfortunately she stood too close, the woof used his free hand to slap her across the cheek.

Luna's uncle watched in horror as his wife staggered backwards and hit her head so hard that she began to bleed.

...

Luna looked at one of the wolf that was approaching them with a smirk.

"Good evening, Milord." The creature said mockingly with a bow.

"What are you doing here?" The lord asked calmly.

"As you can see.." The woof made a quick glance at the screaming people," I and my pack are here to have some fun, you?"

The lord stared at the wolf before him with a blank face. He wanted to ask what pack this wolf belonged to but he doubted he would be able to tell.

Luna inches closer to the lord when she saw the wolf bare its teeth at them.

The lord turned to Luna, ignoring the existence of the woof which irked it.

"Can you use one?" Luna glanced at the gun the lord was holding.

She shook her head,"No."

"Pukk the cock and squeeze the trigger." The Lord passed the gun to her before facing the wolf.

The wolf jumped at the lord in an attempt to claw him but the lord easily caught his neck midair.

He stared at his long and elegant fingers before dipping his hand in the wolf's chest as one would do to water.

Luna let out a gasp when the lord pulled out the heart that had ceased beating before tossing the dead wolf to the side.

"My aunt and uncle!" Luna said before rushing to her house.

The lord took out his kerchief and wiped his bloody hand before throwing it on the ground and following Luna.

Luna looked at the broken door and headed straight to her Aunty's room.

She saw her aunt lying cold on the floor with a pool of blood around her head and her uncle being strangled to death.

She did as the lord said and pulled the cork of the gun before squeezing the trigger for it to let out a deafening sound.

The force was enough to push Luna back a little.

Her uncle took in a deep breath before rushing to his wife.

"She's dead." Came the blant words from the Lord. He could only here two heart beats in the room.

Luna dropped to the ground beside her dead aunt with warm tears flowing down her cheeks.

With shaky hands she closed her aunt's opened eyes.
