Dylan was quick to open the door for the ladies after he stopped the carriage in front of the small building that was the local library.
He brought his hand to help Lady Gina, his hand holding her softer ones.
He did the same with the brown eyed woman (Luna) while the blue eyed one got down on her own.
Abigail didn't like to be helped in doing simple things such as getting off a carriage.
Dylan leaned on the carriage staring as the ladies walked into the small building, a small smile coming to form in his face when he notice Gina waving at some kids who recognized her as the Lord's sister.
"Are you going to the library, miss Gina?" One of the children asked.
Gina crouched in front of the little girl, her hand brushing the littler dirt that had settled on the small girl's cheek.
"Yes, I am. Would you like to join me?"
The girl's radiant smile fell abruptly,
"I can't read." Her small voice sounded sad and ashamed.
"I'll teach you if you don't have any problem with it. Do you?"
The little girl shook her head, her red hair coming to fall on her face.
Gina placed the strand of hair behind the girls ear, earning a soft thank you from the girl.
Dylan who was still staring at the lady, smiled wider than before. His left cheek having a hollow dimple.
Gina turned to look at the Dylan when she felt his gaze on her. Offering him a small smile she held the hand of the little girl before leading her into the library.
"Good morning, Mr. Miller." Gina greeted the old man who stood near one if the racks if books.
"Good morning, Miss Allen. I see you have some friends with you." He looked at the two women who stood quietly behind Gina Allen.
"Ah, yes. This is Luna," The old man stared at the woman with brown hair,
"And this is Abigail." His gaze shifting from Luna to Abigail.
"A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Miller." Luna said with a small smile on her face while Abigail just gave a small bow to the old man.
"The pleasure is mine, Ladies. Don't let this old man take your time, go on." He urged them to begin reading.
Luna run her fingers on the books that were neatly arranged on the shelves.
Her fingers came to stop on a book. Pulling the book out she read the title,
'Atonomy of Humans'
Flipping through a few pages, Luna came to see several drawn diagrams of the human body both internal and external.
Luna paused at a page that had a diagram of the heart. She read the bits of notes written about each structure.
'The human heart, though a small organ is very vital. Even though it isn't as powerful as that of the other creatures, it is strong enough to circulate blood throughout the body'
Luna closed the book, already bored as she knew more than enough of the humans. She wanted to know more about the creatures.
She walked to Mr. Miller who was busy reading a book. Clearing her throat to gain his attention he asked,
"Are you looking for the romance section? It is just five racks away from your left, Lady Luna."
Luna shook her head,
"I wasn't Mr. Miller. Do you have any more books about the anatomy of other creatures?"
Mr. Mill pulled down the reading glass that rested on his nose.
"I have them but since no one shows interest in them I added them to my collection. But they are at home. I could get them for you if you want." He proposed and Luna couldn't help but feel bad for troubling the old man.
"If it won't be of any bother to you." She said and he responded with,
"Ah, no. It doesn't bother me one bit. In fact its been a while since someone showed interest in those old books. They are always looking for romance novels." A tired sigh escaping his mouth.
Luna followed him as he lead her to the back of the library that was attached to his house.
He took hold of the bunch of keys that jingled noisily. He attempted to open the door with a few keys before he finally got the right key.
The door opened to reveal a messy room.
Books were literally every where.
"I apologize for my untied room, miss. This old man loves book so much that after he is done with one he jumps right to next one." He chuckled and Luna also followed suit.
She bent down to pack the books while the Mr. Miller searched throw the small rack above his bed.
"Aha! I found them!" He exclaimed, turning around to find his room neater than heblast saw it.
"You shouldn't have bothered yourself miss. This old man is very thankful." He said.
"Do tell the old man he is very welcome." Luna smiled at the man who smiled back at her.
"I will."
Abigail who was leaning against on of the racks with a book in hand caught sight of a shadow that looked odd because it was slowly inching away from where she stood.
When she observed the shadow closely she noticed it looked like a cloaked person. When she wanted to get an even closer look the shadow disappeared like it was never there.
Gina pointed at the words that were scribbled on the pages of the book, explaining the girl that sat before her what it ment.
The girl would occasionally nod her head in understanding. Gina knew that a single day wouldn't be enough to fully teach someone how to read, that was she would becoming here at least twice a week if her brother permitted.
Nicholas could be very stern when it involved her safety and she understood him perfectly.
She was not a human after all. The only reason Nicholas allowed her to come to the library was because Mr. Millers was of her kind.
Dylan gently brushed the white horse that happened to be his favorite. It had a similar story to his.
He paused when he reached the part of the horse that had a deep scar. His mind sending him to the time with his former master.
"What happened to it?" Came the harsh tone of a middle age man.
"It was under Dylan's care, master." Said one of the shivering servants.
"Get him here, now!" Demanded the man and a servant was quick to call Dylan.
Dylan came to were his master was with a passive expression on his face. He knew what he had done would defiantly lead to some sort of punishment from his master.
"Where is the bird, boy?" The man asked looking down at Dylan as he was some inches taller than him.
"I freed it." Came Dylan's calm words.
He had freed the bird his master had brought home, already knowing the fate that awaited the bird if it was still to be here.
The master had this peculiar taste for birds and this time he had brought back a parrot for his dinner.
The master looked furiously at the 17 years old Dylan before him.
"Get me my whip." He demanded.
Dylan was tied to a pole and was given a series of lashes on his back using the master's whip.
He didn't remember the number of times that the cold whip had landed hard on his back but he did remember the satisfaction he got when he plunged a silver dagger into his former master's heart.
The thought brought a crazed smulenon his face, one that would remind several maids of the lord's mansion about their crazy young master. His dull eyes having some life in them.
He had made a request to the Lord to give him the chance to kill his master and the lord had agreed.
Apparently his former master was a wolf that was intent on ruin the race of humans.
How ironic, though Dylan. He had left a wolf who maltreated him only to move to another wolf but this one cared about the servants of hiqqs household.
The crazed smile dropping from his face when he saw the lady of the house and her friends approaching.
To think the lady was also a wolf.
