Glenn sighed as he watched Viros's body completely vanish from existence. He felt sorry for her, but at the same time he knew she deserved it. Although she didn't chose to be born as a demon, she still chose to destroy and enslave humans, that was her mistake.
"Everything feels so real," Glenn watched his hands as he clenched it into a fist. "Is this really our reality now?"
Screech!
Glenn looked up and saw that there were now a lot of undead soldiers around him. He was too occupied with Viros that he forgot that there were enemies around other than her.
"Tree of Death!" Glenn launched his skill. A black tree that was made of energy sprung from the ground and damaged the enemies nearby. Glenn watched the undead soldiers get the random curse that the tree inflicted. Some were burned, electrocuted, and even drowned.
He then looked up to see people right by the wall looking at him. He signaled Gina to create platforms that he could use to climb the wall and she did just that.
"Are there any casualties?" Glenn ran towards Melissa who was commanding the garrison forces at a tower. "I just came back."
Melissa shut her eyes and touched her head. "My head hurts. It's like I wasn't me for these past few days."
"That's because you weren't," Glenn said. "But we don't have the luxury to discuss these matters right now. What we have to do is defend this town."
Melissa nodded. "I already sent all the Adventurers and Knights to the different parts of the wall to defend. They said that the number of undead soldiers is almost zero."
"Good," Glenn said. "There will be a short time before the second wave. By then, everyone should be rested and prepared."
"Where are you going?" Melissa asked Glenn when she saw him about to jump off the wall. "Are you going to leave us?"
"I will be back," Glenn said. "Gina, please help them while I'm gone."
"Alright," Gina nodded. She waved her staff and created a giant falcon made of glitters. "The most versatile class in all God's Omen. Let me show you how an Enchanter is both a mage and a support class! Falcon of Parable!"
Gina fires the falcon in the air. The butterfly flew around the wall, sending glitters down the people on the wall. The glitters provided them enhancements in their attributes, making them more passionate about defending the town.
"Wow," Melissa watched in awe. "I wasn't me these past few days, but I still remember everything. The three of you must be really strong."
"I'm not gonna lie, we are," Gina smirked. "Especially him. He can do anything if he set his mind and soul to it. I've seen him conquer the impossible and achieve the unachievable. Glenn Adams, he's the Legendary Healer."
–
Glenn panted as he ran through the swamp. He saw the solid soil path, so he used it to get inside and call out their names. "John? Felix? Cecil? Don? Patrick?"
"Here!" John yelled from nearby. There was a faint white light right where he was, so Glenn knew instantly where they are.
When he arrived there, his heart almost stopped. Patrick kneeling on the ground with John tapping his back. Three unconscious bodies were sprawled on the ground, all not showing any signs of waking up.
"Switch," Glenn said. The color of his hololiths returned to their light gray hue as he held Patrick's hands and smiled. "You did a good job. Let me take it from here."
Glenn raised both of his hands and spun it above his head. "Circle of Life: Miracles from the Gods."
There were small blue butterflies made of energy spinning on his hands. The butterflies were burning with the gentle blue fire as they made the ring on flame bigger. Glenn sighed and opened his arms above him, the ring exploding and the flames that it was made of fell onto the three younger Adventurers.
The butterflies ran across their bodies, sending the flames at them and replenishing their lost HP. Glenn continued this for a few seconds before he heard Felix groan.
"Oh," Glenn smirked. "Wake up now."
Felix opened his eyes and he immediately sat up. "Big Brother Healer! There was a skeleton monster and we defeated it but there was another one and we got defeated and– wow. What happened?"
"Patrick protected everyone," John said. The boy he mentioned fainted on his arms while he smirked proudly. "When I got here, the three of you were already unconscious while Patrick stood up for you and shielded you. I killed the beast and then he instantly kneeled down to heal you."
"If it wasn't for his quick response, I wouldn't be able to save you," Glenn said. "Patrick is the real hero here."
"He is," Felix agreed. "I am so thankful for Patrick."
It wasn't long after that Cecil and Don woke up too. They thanked Glenn for helping them and then thanked the sleeping Patrick for protecting them.
"Let's go back to the town," Glenn said. "It's not safe here especially now that the second wave is right around the corner."
As they walked back to Galaron, Felix asked. "Big Brother Healer, what is the second wave and what does it do?"
"A rain of burning arrows will be unleashed from the skies," Glenn said. "But don't worry, we know what to do when that happens."
"A rain of burning arrows," Don whispered. "That sounds so scary."
"It does, doesn't it?" Glenn chuckled when he saw Don's reaction. "But we don't have a choice but to defend. When that happens, I will make sure that the number of people in Galaron is still the same. None shall perish."
"You're so cool, Big Brother Healer!" Cecil said with a blush. "I wish to grow up and be as cool as you."
"I know for a fact that all of you will be cooler than me when you grow up," Glenn smiled. "Every one of you is so strong. That's why I know."
"When that happens, we will treat you to lunch," Felix said. "Let's eat duck stew."
They went on about how they will treat Glenn when they grow older, but the latter had his mind elsewhere.
In the game, there was a guide that would tell them where the Bow Hunter is. A side event would happen and they would help this guide. But they weren't sure if the guide existed now.
Glenn could only hope that fate was on their side this time. If not, then it would be harder for everyone and even harder for him.
"Help!"
