Chapter 28 - Diana the Bow Hunter

Diana walked for a couple more minutes until they arrived at a stone arch that was in front of a large stone cliff. She stepped forward and touched parts of the arch as well as whispering under her breath.

The stone cliff opened, revealing a stone stairs that led up. Diana nodded to the three Adventurers and was the first person to climb the stairs.

Glenn could still remember this scene from the game. The guide, which had different names depending on what channel you were in, would lead the player to their tribe which was located high up in a mountain.

The mountain had a cylindrical shape and the walls perfectly had a flat surface, so nobody else could go up except for the tribesmen who knew the secret path.

In the game, the Bow Hunter launched herself from the ground and right into the top of the mountain. She then attacked the tribe and made herself comfortable inside their altar.

The altar for the Vassos Tribe had a large sphere with telescopic magic. It can see objects that were miles away from them, this was their main defense against both intruders and natural disasters.

This was also the thing that the Bow Hunter used to attack the village. The Bow Hunter was able to launch hundreds of arrows at the same time while they were in a far distance from the target.

"I wonder," John said to Glenn. "Does all the town suffer the same Waves and have different guides? We surely suffer the same miasma problem as Gina's town, so are these events happening in other towns?"

"In God's Omen, yes," Glenn said. "Different towns, or channels, have different names for their knughts captain, their town head, and even the guide. I don't know if the same thing apllies here."

"I think everyone is also affected by these events," Gina said. "And if they are, then there are thousands of guides and Vassos Tribes around the world."

"We're almost there," Diana said, causing the three to drop from their conversation. She smiled at gem before leading higher into the stairs. "There, look at that. That's the opening for this tunnel."

They exited the tunnel, and arrived at the village. It was silent and the thick fog from their high altitude hindered their vision slightly. There was also a cold yet dry sensation in the air which caused Glenn to shiver.

"Diana," a man ran up to them. "Are these the people who can help us?"

"Yes, we are," Glenn said. "Take us to your temple."

Diana and the man led the three Adventurers to a a higher portion of the top of the mountain. It was a giant temple sitting on top of a stone formation right by the edge of their little town.

"She's here?" Glenn asked. "I'll get inside."

Glenn entered the temple and heard the series of pulling the string to fire an arrow motion. He walked deeper into the temple and saw the bow floating in the middle of a large room.

"What?" Glenn asked. "How can this be? The Bow Hunter isn't here."

"She's here!" John yelled. "And she's strong too. Glenn, lend us a hand."

Glenn immediately ran outside and saw Gina and John fighting a woman. She heavily resembled Diana which, let Glenn knew that this woman was Diana.

"The guide was the Bow Hunter," Glenn sighed. "A common knowledge that all the players for God's Omen knew."

"You knew that I was the Bow Hunter?" Diana asked. "But why didn't you kill me back there? You could've avoided all of these if you just killed me."

"No, thanks," Glenn smirked. "We have our reasons."

"Then, your reasons are going to be the reason of your death!" Diana yelled. She hopped back and raised her hand above her. From inside the temple, the bow shook and went straight for her hand, the woman spinning as she catch the bow in the air.

Diana pulled the string and smirked. "Your death will never be forgotten. Goodbye."

Diana fired an arrow, which John blocked easily. Glenn sighed and then chuckled. "This was the reason why we didn't kill you. If we did, then your bow would've continued to rain the arrows. There's nothing we could do when that happens."

Diana grit her teeth. She looked around and saw that everyone was looking at them. Having a plan in mind, she pulled the string of her bow and pointed it up. "I'll bring everyone to death with me!"

"It's not that easy," Gina yelled as she slammed her staff on the ground. "Metaphor. The ground is a dome that encased an area around me."

The ground shook and a stone dome enclosed them, just like what Gina said. The stone dome hindered Diana from firing her arrows, making her growl and glare daggers at Gina. "The moment I saw your face, I knew that I hated you."

Gina casted small wisps around the dome to light up the inside. Since the dome was fully closed, no light no air could pass through.

"Well, a lot of people did say that to me," Gina shrugged dismissively. "What can I do? My beauty is my best feature."

"You're an ugly b*tch!" Diana yelled. Her body shook and she let out a scream of pain. "I'll kill you first!"

Diana pulled her string and fired a beam of energy right towards Diana. The woman simply dodges this attack and approached Diana at high speed. She slammed her staff at her, but Diana blocked it with her bow.

"You think you're so strong, huh?" Diana grunted. "Then try and fight me, then."

"You must be joking," Gina smirked. "You're a Level 20."

"And?" Diana asked. "I have seen the Adventurers. You're just sent here recently and nobody as reached the same level as me."

"Did you hear that?" Gina yelled to Glenn and John who were only watching their fight. "She thinks she's the most powerful."

"Just get over it," John said. "The air is getting thinner the longer we stay here."

After hearing this, Gina did not hesitate to slam her staff right on Diana's face. The latter was thrown away from the impact before she could even react, leaving her to freeze while she rolled to the ground.

"W-What?" Diana asked herself. "But why? The Death Lord even gave us more powers to make sure that Galaron suffers."

Gina kneeled in front of Diana. She had already slammed her staff at Diana's bow and it had been broken in half. "Let me tell you something, little b*tch."

Diana shivered at the aura that Gina had been exuding. "W-Who are you? This aura… it's much stronger than the Death Lord's aura."

"My name is Gina, and I'm the Scarlet Sorceress."

Bang!
