The Death Lord that Glenn was fighting against was ways stronger than the one he fought in the game. Back in God's Omen, the Death Lord was only Level 20. This was a level of monsters that a Level 15 can handle, the reason why he wanted the younger Adventurers to reach Level 15.
But this Death Lord was Level 50. The penalty for them leaving the town was too huge that it was hard for even him to defeat this beast.
"Thorns of Roses," Glenn cast his skill at the Death Lord. His hololiths glowed with a dark gray color as three giant rose vines grew from the ground. The vines wrapped themselves around the giant monster, constraining it in place.
Meanwhile, Glenn took out his sword smiling as he ran towards the Death Lord and launched himself from the ground. He struck his blade at the four vines, each exploding with a blood red light.
Each time a vine was cut, the target would receive damage. Their defenses would also be weakened significantly. If all the vines were cut, the target would suffer great amount of damage. Their defenses would also be weakened greatly for a couple of seconds, leaving more room for damage.
In Glenn's fights, Thorns of Roses was his strongest skill. This was a binding skill as well as damage skill that lowered the target's defense attributes. When he successfully casts this along with one more skill, then his win is guaranteed.
Slash!
Glenn successfully cut the first vine. He moved on to the second and third vines where he also managed to cut it with ease. The fourth one was the hardest vine to cut.
Since the first two movement constrictors were cut, Glenn would now have to deal with the target's movements as he cut the last vine. The Death Lord was twenty feet tall, so trying to dodge all of its movements were hard.
"This is troublesome," Glenn groaned. "Circle of Death!"
Glenn fired his attack and hit the Death Lord. His attack had started to take effect, dealing damage over time at his target. Circle of Death would deal high damage over time to its target and it would decrease the target's movements.
But since the Death Lord was not affected by curses, it was still moving with its regular speed, making Glenn clench his jaw in frustration. He wanted to finish this as soon as he can.
He hid Patrick on his seat where Diana would be waiting. When she sees Patrick, she would take him out of the Arena and exit this place to somewhere much safer.
Glenn had planned all of these from the start. But to do that, he must not tell Adventurers about it.
"Galaron's Rule," Glenn smirked.
The town of Galaron was the original town where the original plot of the main storyline was. In this town, the main storyline was different from most, but it was kept exclusively to the players in this room.
The IP address of the players are stored in the game's database and when Galaron is mentioned by the user's any social media platform, the game would automatically track the player's movements.
This would ultimately prevent leaks because the players would be banned the moment they spread out any information from the game. To register in God's Omen, a government ID must be registered, so each player can only create one account.
He thought out that there must be a similar rule in this world. He didn't want to risk his life by saying the secret plot before the Four Waves could even be prevented, so he took it upon himself to write the notebook in case his plan fails.
To Glenn, the secrecy of the secret plot made sense if they planned on doing this from the start. If God's Omen's developers planned all of these, then Galaron's storyline could be the key to defeat the Dark Lord.
It was like they have made all of these random things to make sense because there was an even bigger picture in the end. But never would it occur to anyone that the bigger picture that the developers wanted was world domination.
Slash!
Glenn cut the last vine. He landed on the ground and watched the Death Lord explode. Its defense attribute was already lowered by the vines, so the damage from the Circle of Death should finish it off.
Roar!
The Death Lord let out a loud, shaking roar as it fell to its knees. It panted, looked at Glenn and then fell to the ground face first.
"A-And the winner of the Death Match is Glenn Adams!" the announcer yelled and the crowd burst into a series of applause and cheers.
Glenn looked around, smiling as the memories of the time he defeated the Death Lord for the first time played on his mind. The surreal feeling of defeating such figure was so overwhelming to him.
When he first played the game, his real time progress was the real time updates of the game. This means that he was following the story as it was being updated by the developers.
Glenn was the second one to defeat the Dark Lord and that's where his name started to circulate. He was observed by several groups because he was a healer yet he was the first ones to defeat the Death Lord.
It was after that limelight that Glenn became a popular player, until he reached the pro scene with his friends. Glenn was happy about his achievements and all those feeling that he felt all those years ago resurfaced.
"That was awesome," Glenn grinned as he panted. He took a deep breath and nodded at himself. "Now to continue the story so we can defeat the Dark Lord."

"Are you feeling okay?" John asked Gina after he saw the woman sitting on the edge of the bell tower. "You look down."
"I'm fine," Gina said. "I'm just worried about Patrick. Will he be okay?"
"It has been twenty minutes since he was taken," John said. "If something happened to him, then another one of us should be taken."
"It's done," Philip said. His eyes were rolled to the back of his head and he just returned them back to normal. "Glenn was in the arena and he was the one who defeated the Death Lord."
"What?" Gina and John looked at each other.
"He did it!" Philip cheered. "Glenn did it!"
