Chereads / Healers Can't Deal Damage / Chapter 9 - Vision Scatterer

Chapter 9 - Vision Scatterer

A giant tree sprouted from the bell tower of Galaron's church. The tree grew twice the size of the tower, with its roots scattered down to the ground and released the small light particles.

"Woah," John gasped as he watched the treee shed its light and purification magic into the citizens of Galaron. "It couldn't be. Is it him?"

For a few minutes, the town was glowing. Glenn had to make sure that all the dark miasma that the parasites excreted were purified.

When he was done, those who were affected by the miasma fell unconscious. The entire citizens of Galaron fell asleep, leaving only the Adventurers behind.

"What's happening?" one of the Adventurers said. "What was that light? Was it from one of us?"

"Maybe? They saved us from these people. But what did he do?"

"The light also made me feel better! I don't feel sick now."

…

The Adventurers started cheering after they felt better from the purification that Glenn just casted upon them. The poison from the Iron Blue Bugs were purified along with the dark miasma that the parasites produced.

John watched the Adventurers, smiling to himself and then he glanced at the bell tower where Glenn wasn't there anymore. The tree that was made of light was gone too.

"Where is he–"

"Sir?" John was cut off when a soft male voice spoke from behind him. It was Patrick. He turned around to face the four young Adventurers that Glenn helped. "Are you Big Brother Healer's friend?"

John leaned down to level his eyes with the smaller boy. "Do you know where he is right now?"

"Finneas ran after him, but we don't know where he is," Patrick said. "Finneas said he wanted to help Big Brother Healer, but he's just a boy and is very weak."

"Don't worry, I'll find him," John smiled. He led the youngsters to a dark alley and raised his arm to the side. He also closed his right eye before casting, "Vision Scatterer."

His arms bloated and formed small sparrows that flew away instantly. These birds had only one eye and they were all able to move swiftly.

"Wow," Cecil awed at the skill performed in front of them. John was using the birds as his eyes to locate Glenn. Even for a level 90 like him, casting a skill with that scope would drain every single ounce of energy that he has.

A couple of seconds into his visions, John smirked when he saw a younger boy drag Glenn. He shook his hand and made all the sparrows retreat to him where they combined to become his arm again.

"I know where they are," John said. "Let's go."

–

"Heavy," Finneas groaned.

After Glenn casted his skill on the town, he felt his body weakened heavily. He tried to climb down, but his body eventually gave up right before he could even reach the ground.

Finneas, who was stalking Glenn, saw this and immediately ran to rescue the man. He leaped from the ground and caught Glenn's body halfway. He didn't realize how bigger Glenn's body was compared to his, so when he was about to land, he ended up rolling both of them.

Finneas saw that a crowd had formed around them. The Adventurers who were on the town square was now running towards the bell tower to see who casted the spell.

Fearing that Glenn would be put on a tight spot, Finneas used as much strength as he could muster and drag Glenn's body away. He first went to an alley where he waited a couple of seconds for the Adventurers to get past them before he continued dragging Glenn away.

"Why. Are. You. So. Heavy?" Finneas groaned a he continued to drag Glenn. He didn't know if the latter would scold him for doing so, but he thought that it would keep Glenn safer if he dragged him away instead of letting him lay there.

In the middle of his dragging, Finneas felt Glenn's body get lighter. He turned around to see John gently scooping the man off the ground and carrying him on John's back.

The older assassin ruffled the younger one's hair and smiled. "You're an assassin too, right? His body must've been twice as heavy for you."

"Big Brother Assassin, will Big Brother Healer be okay?" Cecil asked, eyes tearing up as she watched Glenn's sleeping form.

"This man is a tough nut," John joked. "He won't die easily. Everyone, good job. But we have to go to the forest for now and wait for him to wake up."

"Why the forest?" Cecil asked.

"You'll know," John smiled at them and led them out of the town. He knew where Glenn camped the night before, so he placed Glenn there and instructed the kids to stay with him.

"Where are you going, Big Brother Assassin?" Don asked. "Please don't leave us here."

"I'll be back," John smiled. "I just have to clear their heads off of what just happened."

"You can do that?" Finneas asked. He was intrigued because he was also an assassin just like John. "What's your class, big brother?"

"I'm a Rogue," John said. "Rogues specializes on vision and memory manipulation for its victims. You're a Thief, so you're more of a looter than a utility class. I'll explain more later."

John vanished from their sight, leaving the kids in the camp. Glenn was still asleep, but was now gently snoring.

Patrick then stood and walked over to Glenn. He raised his staff and casted, "White Light!"

The head of his staff glowed and a faint ray of light shone from it, shining over Glenn. "Please get well soon, big brother."

Meanwhile, in the bell tower stood John who was watching all the people inside Galaron. They were all confused about everything that just happened.

"Okay, let's do this," John said. "They can't know about things like this."

John raised both of his arms to the side like he was feeling the breeze. He then took his dagger and vanished, reappearing behind a woman who was in the bell tower with him.

"Who are you and what do you want?" John asked, pointing his dagger at the woman's neck.

"I'm Gina Oswold," the woman introduced. "I'm a Level 90 too."
