A cold wind blew past Glenn as a silence wave followed. Melissa, along with everyone in Galaron except for Glenn, John, and Gina froze as if time stopped ticking for the them.
"Show up," Glenn ordered while looking at the tree. "You're the one who gave birth to all those parasites, aren't you? The General of the Demon Lord, Viros!"
The tree shook violently. Hands formed from the branches, while the leaves dried up and fell. The entire trunk formed an hourglass shaped body while a head flipped forward with hair made of dead vines.
"How can a mere human see who I really am?" Viros asked. Her voice seemed ethereal, like a soft ominous echo followed her every words. "I specifically chose Galaron to be my home because of the rich vegetation, but it seemed like the power has its source."
"It's not even the Four Waves, but a General has shown itself," Gina said. "Glenn, this is dangerous."
"There's no such thing as dangerous," Glenn smirked. "Especially when I'm around."
Viros finished her transformation. The once giant tree that sat in the middle of the town square was now a giant woman made of wood with six arms and legs that resembles a centipede.
"Mother of all Parasites, Viros," Glenn called out. "You became a General of the Demon Lord after you enslaved an entire kingdom with your deadly miasma and mind controlling abilities. My Tree of Life made little impact against your powers."
The individuals that made up the Generals of the Demon Lord are evil creatures from around the Earth in God's Omen. They are the ones who have achieved great evil things and has caught the attention of the most powerful evil being in their world, the Demon Lord.
When the Demon Lord gives them the title of the General, their powers would be amplified. These Generals would end up getting stronger and more violent towards the humans.
In the lore of God's Omen, there are thirteeen Generals and each of them rule their own domain. These Generals, along with the Demon Lord, were sealed by the ancient Heavenly Warriors, the first ones to be sent by the Heavens to protect the world.
But something happened and the Demon Lord awakened. This was the start of the main storyline that the player from God's Omen would follow. They complete trials, scenarios, and would eventually defeat the Demon Lord.
After that, they return to the Heavens and compete in the Arena of Glory which in the game is the PVP. When a player completes the main storyline, they would compete in the Arena where they are ranked according to their power and skills.
The only reason for the ones to have ascended to the Arena to go back to the world of God's Omen is for them to collect materials for their weapons or learn new skills.
God's Omen had more features as each patch shows that years have passed and it was still a massively popular game.
"I'm now even more surprised that you know that much, human. My story is a lesser known story among the Generals, but you seem to know it like it's the back of your hand," Viros laughed. "How can a mere human know my existence, even my past? Who are you?"
"Warriors sent by the Heavens in order to protect this land." Glenn wanted to visibly cringe by the line he just said. "The ones who they sent before failed this mission, but we won't."
"Interesting," Viros smirked. "Especially when you are so sure of yourself. I can't even see a hint of lie in your words."
"That's mainly because I'm telling you the truth," Glenn sighed. "You know what? Let's just fight."
"But you're a healer," Viros tilted her head to the side in confusion. "How can a mere healer defeat me, a General chosen by the Demon Lord?"
"That's easy," Glenn smiled. He threw his staff to the ground as well as the skins from his equipment. He equipped his original weapons, the hololiths that he used on each of his wrists. "Switch."
'Error using
"What?" Glenn's eyes widened after he saw the notification display on his vision. He shook his head and tried again. "Switch."
'Error using
"Oh?" Viros chucked. "Was that all? Is it my turn now?"
Viros raised her upper pair of hands. The wooden branches that made up her arm extended, reaching far above her head. Her lower pair of hands pointed at Glenn. There was an orb of dark purple energy in between her palms which she fired at Glenn.
"Stupid skill!" Glenn groaned. He ran as fast as he could to avoid the path of the attack. "John, help me!"
"Hyperbole," Gina tapped the ground and enchanted the brick. A thick wall of red bricks was formed, bulging from the ground and blocking the attack.
"Why did you ask him for help?" Gina asked while she ran beside Glenn. "He can't block such attacks, you know that."
"I thought he could at least do something," Glenn sighed disappointingly.
"Well now you know that I can't!" John yelle from a roof. "I'm going to try and attack her. Gina, please give me cover."
"Right!" Gina yelled back. She looked at Glenn and sighed. "Please, stay there. We don't want you die just yet."
They split paths. Glenn searched for a safe place to hide while Gina went back to cover John. She tapped a pole and enchanted it. "Personification."
The pole morphed into a knight which attacked Viros instantly. Viros used her middle hands to swipe the knight that was approaching her, destroying in a blink of an eye.
"Is that seriously the best you can do?" Viros looked down to see all the lamp posts of the street were already morphed into knights. "What?"
"No," Gina smirked. "This is the best I can do."
The knights launched themselves off of the ground and attacked Viros. The giant tree woman smirked and shrugged. She then slammed her upper arms to the ground, creating giant thorns that pierced the knights.
"Easy," Viros said. "Now, your turn?"
As their fight continued, a bright dark purple symbol has lit up in Glenn's chest. He felt his breath get constricted, like his lungs twisted itself. "What's happening?"
Glenn continued to breath deeply, trying to catch as much air as he could.
'Kill.'
