John was facing Viros with his stealth. For a woman that was thirty feet tall and with her body made of rotting trunks of wood, she was stealthy.
She could keep up with John's movements even with Gina firing different enchanted objects at her. This is why she was a General in the first place, her strengthen was something to be wary of.
"Yeah, I don't think this is working," John said. "In the game, Viros is the seventh General to be faced, meaning her powers are far more superior than more than half of them. But even when we're level 90 with the best equipment, we seem to have trouble defeating her."
"Maybe because she consumed a lot of energy in this town," Gina suggested. "She had killed off a lot of Adventurers, absorbed their powers and now she's like this."
"How did you know all of that?" John scrunched his face. "I didn't even get a hold of such information."
"I came across the grave of the ones who died of the poison from the Iron Blue Bugs," Gina sighed. "It was an unsightly scene to face and I hurled my guts out after looking at it."
John scoffed. "And you never told us? Where is Glenn anyway?"
"I didn't know a General was responsible for this," Gina scoffed back. "Glenn is somewhere safe. For some reason, he can't fight."
John opened his mouth and was about to say something when a burst of power emerged from the town. It was an ominous aura that made all the hair on their bodies stand in fear.
"What is that thing?" Even Viros was afraid of the aura. "That's the darkest aura I've ever felt since the Demon Lord."
"Switch."
In a blink of an eye, a hole was created through Viros's face. John and Gina's eyes widened after their eyes caught glimpse of the being that managed to defeat the General in a split second.
"Glenn?" Gina called out, seeing the man hover behind Viros's head. His body was glowing with a bright dark purple color. He was facing against them, not moving as he let Viros's body fall to the ground.
"Glenn?" It was John who called out this time. "Is that you?"
John was suddenly thrown away. He crashed through several houses, passing through all the brick walls over and over. When he finall landed, blood spilled from his lips, instantly knocking him down.
Gina couldn't comprehend what was happening. She took a step forward and suddenly felt the ominous feeling in front of her. When she looked up, she faced the darkest and most horrifying pair of eyes she had seen in her life.
Just the sight of the complete utter darkness in Glenn's eyes made her knees weak. The woman fell to the ground, tears streaming from her eyes. "Glenn?"
"There is no Glenn," Glenn said. His voice became ethereal. It was like Viros's voice, but he had a much darker and deeper echo than she had. "It is only me, The One."
"Big Brother Healer!" Felix yelled from another street. Glenn heard this and he looked at the boy who was with his friends.
"Big Brother Healer, why do you look like that?" Cecil asked. She hid behind her older brother, sobbing when she felt the dark aura that Glenn exuded.
"You're not Big Brother Healer!" Patrick growled. "Who are you?"
"Oh," Glenn grinned. He slapped Gina, throwing the woman a couple of meters away from him. Gina luckily landed on a box of fruits that broke the impact from her attack. "These little children wants to play."
"Don't come close to us!" Felix raised his dagger at Glenn. "If you do, I'll be forced t-to…"
"To what?" Glenn grinned. "Kill me?"
He snapped his finger and install, the world became dark. The skies became gloomy, dark gray clouds covered the sun and the light from the heavens was blocked by the darkness. His aura grew stronger, much more powerful and even scarier than before.
"You're just children," Glenn chuckled. "You can't do anything to me."
He raised his right hand, the hololith glowing with a dark blue color. His hand was covered with an aura before it shaped itself to a sword which Glenn gripped with his fingers. "Precious little children."
He slashed his sword and blood was drawn. The young Adventurers gasped after seeing the crimson red liquid flow from the sword.
"Buddy," John coughed. "You're not you. What's happening?"
John took the blow. His stomach was pierced with the sword. "Wake up, Glenn. Look at them. The kids you once swore to protect."
Glenn didn't display any emotions. He just let blood flow out of John's lips without showing any signs of guilt. "Was that all?"
"Green Heal!" Patrick casted. "Please Big Brother Assassin, don't die."
John's eyes slowly got darker. Life was slowly leaving his body and Glenn was still unresponsive.
"Glenn," John whispered. "Wake up."
–
"Let me out!" Glenn yelled. He was inside an endless darkness while his body floated in space. There was nothing around him, not even his clothes. "Where am I? Let me out now!"
There was no answer.
Glenn roamed the eternal pitch black space, endlessly floating. He tried multiple ways to escape, but all of them were useless. He was trapped inside and there wasn't any way to get out.
"Big Brother Healer."
His eyes widened after he heard a faint voice. Glenn looked around, only to see nothing. He tried roaming the darkness once more, desperately searching for the exit.
"Glenn."
Another voice. A soft silent voice like a gentle breeze in a cold summer's evening. Glenn felt the voice again. He was now floating as much as he could until he saw a beating heart from afar.
When he got close to the heart, he saw that it was being corrupted. The pure red beating heart had black veins threatening to consume its entirety. Glenn gulped and touched his chest, not feeling his own heartbeat there.
"Is this my heart?" Glenn asked.
"Wake up, Glenn."
He looked around after hearing the voice once more. "John?"
"Glenn. Buddy."
"John?" Glenn yelled as loud as he could. "Answer me, John. Is that you?"
"There is no John here." A deep voice spoke. Glenn looked around and gasped after he saw a six pairs of eyes lined up vertically in the darkness. "You are deep in your consciousness, your true heart."
"Who are you?" Glenn asked. "Why am I here?"
"That's because you are The One," the eyes spoke. "And I will help your true self up."
Glenn paused for a moment. "But who really are you?"
The eyes squinted and a large mouth appeared below it. The mouth had sharp teeth and a pair of fangs on each side. "You'll know."
