The eyes mouth below the multiple pairs of eyes opened and a tongue slithered out of it. The tongue wrapped itself around Glenn.
"What the hell?" Glenn growled. He tried to wriggle himself out of the tongue's sticky grasp, but it was almost impossible. The tongue was overpowering him.
"You need to wake up," the eyes said. "You have a power hidden inside you that you can't escape."
"Big Brother Healer."
Glenn's eyes widened. "Cecil?"
He looked around but it was still the vast and empty darkness around him. He couldn't seem anything apart from the pair of eyes and the tongue that latched itself around him. "Cecil? Can you hear me?"
"Wake up, Glenn," John whispered. "This is not you."
Glenn grit his teeth and forced his way out of the tongue. The six pairs of eyes narrowed itself and gripped its tongue tighter. "You cannot escape your fate. You will wake up and you will rule the world."
"This isn't even my world," Glenn smirked. "I'm not intetested."
With a scream, Glenn pushed the tongue off of him. He hovered away from the eyes and tried to follow the voices that were calling him.
"Glenn," it was Gina who spoke this time. "You need to wake up now."
A few more seconds of endlessly floating, Glenn finally saw a light ahead of him. He rushed to where the light was and entered it, like it was the exit of a dark tunnel.
Glenn's eyes fluttered open. He was laying on the ground with a heavy body on top of him. There was a small buzzing sound nearby and he saw that it was from Patrick who was casting a continuous healing spell.
"Patrick?" Glenn called out and was immediately pulled back up by Gina. "What's happening?"
Glenn could only cover his mouth after seeing John's lifeless body on the ground. It was the heavy thing that was on top of him after he woke up, it was John.
"Let's not do this here," Gina said to Glenn. "Let's go away while the people are still unconscious. Viros's spell drained their energy, so they fainted."
Gina led them to a dark alley where they put John of the ground. Glenn was still in disbelief, not understanding anything that happened while he was trapped in the eternal darkness.
"What happened earlier?" Glenn turned to Gina. He kneeled on the ground and checked on John's vitals. "He's still alive. Patrick, you can calm down now. Big Brother Healer is going to save Big Brother Assassin, okay?"
Patrick nodded and he put down his staff to stop healing John. When he did, he immediately lost consciousness which made his friends worry.
"He'll be fine," Glenn said as he raised both of his hands in the air to cast a healing spell causing the hololiths on his wrists to glow. "Circle of Life."
Glenn formed a ring above John using his hololiths. The ring was like a giant silver ring with golden ancient symbols carved on it. The symbols glowed brightly, the light from it beaming to John which was on the ground.
A few seconds later, John opened his eyes and he took a deep, sharp breath. "What the hell?"
"John!" Glenn grinned. "I'm so glad you're alive. What happened?"
"You suddenly lost control of yourself and tried attacking the kids," John replied. He checked on his wounds and was amazed when there wasn't even any scar on where Glenn stabbed him. "Your healing skills are really amazing."
"John, this is not the time to be joking around," Glenn said sternly. "I almost killed you."
"But that wasn't you," John said. "That was someone else, definitely not you."
"But–"
"He's right, Glenn," Gina seconded. "I saw that person before you fainted. The aura, the voice, even the magic were completely different."
"What if I lose control again?" Glenn asked. "I can't afford killing anyone."
"If you lose control again, then that will be a problem in the future," Gina said. "For now, we have to deal with the Four Waves. Viros is not one of them, I assume. Her presence was completely random."
Glenn wasn't too sure about what just Gina said. After what happened to him, he doesn't think that Viros being here among the hundreds of other village was just a coincidence. There was a reason why Viros chose this town.
"I have a suggestion," Glenn said. "We can't just work secretly, especially now that a large scale battle is going to happen. We need everyone's participation in order to defeat the Four Waves."
"I agree," John said. "The Four Waves is an extremely frustrating task in the game where you have to finish all of them in two hours or else you'll restart the scene."
"But we can't possibly defeat the Four Waves in two hours," Glenn said. "The Four Waves is composed of four hordes of creatures with four different bosses. There's only three of us, and if we take on a boss each, it would still be hard to complete.
"There's already a delay in the leveling up of the Adventurers after the Iron Blue Bug incident," Glenn continued. "The Adventurers' equipment are still not enough to face such a deadly encounter."
'Time for the Four Waves: 3 Days, 23 Hours'
A notification was displayed in their vision and the time for the Four Waves was finally revealed. Glenn looked at his allies, nodding as they were about to let the town know of their existence and their purpose.
"Everyone!" Glenn yelled after the people from Galaron had finally woken up. "In four days, a distaster will come to this town."
"Shut up!" Ryan growled. He ran towards Glenn and tried to push him. "Who are you? I'm the leader of this town. I'm the representative of the Adventurers, so what nonsense are you saying?"
Glenn ignored him. "We need your cooperation and you must upgrade your equipment to at least level 10 so you can survive this battle."
"Hey!" Ryan growled. "Why aren't you listening to me? Are you deaf?"
Glenn sighed and was forced to use his staff and spin it. Using the force of the spin of the staf, he slammed it on Ryan's stomach, causing the latter to be blown a couple of meters back.
"I'm the Legendary Healer," Glenn introduced. "And you will listen to what I have to say."
Everyone nodded.
