"We need someone else to deal with that," Glenn said. "John, find a Level 7 or higher warrior or any one of the standby Adventurers. The EXP for that creature will be important for them."
John nodded and immediately ran throughout the wall to look for a warrior or an assassin to hunt the large skeleton monster. Nobody wanted to take on the role, but a man stepped forward.
"I'm going to do it," an older man with a younger woman behind him. "I'm with my friend here, and we're going with you."
"What's your name and what level are you in now?" John asked.
"Stefan, Level 8," the man said. "And this id Stefanie, Level 7."
"Alright," John nodded. "When we come down this wall, I will zone out the big skeleton warrior and you both will deal with it. Take its EXP, and we'll come back up."
"John," Glenn yelled. "There's two more skeleton monsters. I guess each one of us will have to guide people."
The mages, rangers, and even the healers were slowly gaining levels as they hunt the skeleton army from above. Each target they kill, they gain EXP. This lead to shortage of EXP for the close combat fighters such as warriors, tanks, and assassins.
"Level 7 and up warrior, tank or assassin!" Glenn yelled. "I need a Level 7 and up–"
"I'll do it," Bryan said. He approached Glenn and smirked. "Me and my guys are warriors, tanks, and assassins. I hope we can gain EXP from this."
"You're already at Level 15," Glenn said. "If you hog this beast, none will be left for the rest of them."
"Then let them fight down below," Bryan said. "If you're so worried about the others not getting the EXP they needed, then let them fighting. Why are you stopping them?"
"Because I want to minimize the casualties as much as I can," Glenn said simply. "Now, if you can't understand that please step away. I need to do something about those bigger beasts."
"Don't be a coward," Bryan said. "You never change. You're still that coward that caused a huge accident."
Glenn grit his teeth and pulled Bryan's collar. He raised the shorter man from the ground and glared daggers at him. "What are you saying?"
"You think I don't know?" Bryan smirked. "The name Kyrie Schwartz?"
A memory flashed through Glenn's mind. A huge smile and a bright shining hazel eyes. Fist bumps, laughter, games, and a speeding car taking away a friend right before his eyes.
'Glenn, you should be team captain.'
Glenn lost his control and threw Bryan off of the wall. John gasped and immediately jump towards the man. Gina helped him by enchanting the wall and created platforms for John to use.
"Glenn, what the hell?!" Gina growled. She walked over to Glenn and watched the man fall unconscious. His eyes were open, empty like the soul was sucked out of him. "Everyone, I will be taking over."
"What happened?" Melissa approached them. "Is he okay?"
"Please bring him to the infirmary," Gina said worriedly. When a Knight carried Glenn, Gina approahced Melissa and whispered in her ear. "Just in case, tie his arms and legs and fortify it with magic."
Melissa looked confused. "What? Is that necessary?"
Gina sighed and nodded. "Yes. Just please do it. I will come there later to check on him."
John arrived back at the top of the wall as he carried Bryan. The latter immediately leaped off of the assassin's arms and cleared his throat. "Everyone! That's what he's capable of. Your "Legendary Healer" is nothing but a man with anger issues."
This caused a pause in the Adventurers and Knights as they listen to Bryan. Seeing everyone pay attention to him, the man smirked and climbed on one of the towers.
"You need a leader who doesn't have anger issues, one who can control his emotions well especially during times like this," Bryan said. "A man like me, the one you declared as the leader before these people came."
"You provoked him," Gina growled. "Even anyone who gets even an inch close to you would get mad. If you talk, that anger boils, if you provoke them, that's what happens."
"Is that a threat?" Byran dramatically touched his chest. "Excuse me, madam. Are you threatening me? You see? It's not only Glenn, but she too has anger issues. I'm sure that assassin also has one. Are you all letting these people lead us?"
"This little–" Gina was about to pounce on Bryan but John stopped her.
"Gina, Gina," John called her name repeatedly. "Don't do it. It's not worth it. You'll only make it worse."
"Yeah," Byran nodded and grinned. "Listen to that skinny boy. Wait, are you even a boy? Your waist is so thin that I would mistaken you for a woman if it weren't for the fact that your face looks like an ogre."
In a blink of an eye, a dagger was pointed at Bryan's neck. A man stood behind him, eyes blazing with anger. "I used several products on my face so I would have this youthful glow, and you'd call me an ogre?"
"See?" Bryan yelled. "They're now even pointing weapons at me! How could this be?"
"Just stop," Gina yelled. "Everyone, do what you did before. John and I will lead some of you agains the larger beasts."
"Are you willing to listen to her?" Bryan fake gasped. "Those who still believe them must be sick in their minds. These people are menace. What if we glorify them and they have the high positions they wanted. What will happen to us? They will surely abuse their powers."
It was shocking for John and Gina to see that the people around them seem to agree with Bryan. These people know that they can save this town, but just because of a guy spouting nonsense, their belief in them was wavering.
"So, you want this the hard way?" Gina smirked. "Fine. I will take Glenn and the kids to somewhere safe, somewhere far from this town. Let's see if you can survive on your own. But if things go South, and the population of this town would decrease significantly, never ask for our help."
"Who would want your help if you even threaten us like that?" Bryan snorted. "We don't want you here. You even made them built a wall for what? These skeleton cuties? I could crush them down in my sleep."
With a scoff, Gina left the wall with John jumping off of the tower and trail after her.
"Gina," John called for her name and ran up to her. "Glenn wanted to save these people. He said he aimed for zero casualties."
"What's the use of saving people if they don't want to be saved?" Gina asked. "Let's go find a large tree or something."
"But what if they die?" John asked. "There are children in this town."
"Children NPC," Gina corrected. "The children and old people from our world are yet to be found."
"But still–"
"Are you coming with me or not?" Gina said to John, leaving the man sigh.
"The three of us needs to stick together until we solve everything," John nodded. "Let's go."
A loud siren rang from the skies, making everyone look up to it. A female voice spoke like a giant speaker from the heavens. "The Prime Adventurers have cut ties with the town after the citizens unanimously decided for them to leave. As a penalty, the difficulty of the Four Waves is increased tenfold. Good luck."
