John tried to pull Gina's hand while he was carrying Glenn on his back. The woman has already made up her mind and decided to abandon Galaron, meanwhile John was still hesitant.
"You just heard the announcement," John said. "They'll all die."
"They don't deserve us, John," Gina said. "They wanted this, and they can have this."
"There's a lot of young people there," John argued. "Gina, think about this for a second, please."
They were now on top of the wall since the wall was built without any entrance or exit. The only way down was by jumping a hundred of feet down.
"It's no use if we feel sorry for them," Gina said. "There are more towns out there who need our help, ones who actually deserve it."
"But Galaron doesn't?" John asked. "There are innocent people here and you're going to abandon them just because of one person? Bryan is an ant. He's nothing but a clueless Adventurer–"
Melissa handed John a piece of paper. The man was confused for a couple of seconds, so he instructed Felix to show him the paper since his hands were full by carrying Glenn.
"What's this?" John asked. "The notice from… the Knights?"
"It was a unanimous decisions of the Adventurers and Knights of Galaron to kick us out," Gina sighed. "Melissa didn't want us to see this, but she had no choice but to show it to me after I practically forced her to do it."
John was silent for a couple of seconds. "Does Glenn know?"
"He wants to protect these people without knowing that they want to kick him out just because they don't feel safe around him," Gina chuckled. "Do you think I'd tell you that?"
"But how come this is happening?" John grunted. "Viros's mind manipulating powers were gone the moment we defeated her, right? That was two times, first from the miasma and the next one was from her direct powers. But why is this still happening?"
"Maybe because these people doesn't really want our help," Gina sighed. "They feel inferior because our powers far surpass them. It's a flawed logic on their end, but we don't have a choice but to compromise."
John sighed and looked at the town who was now struggling. "Alright. But when Glenn wakes up, you're going to explain everything."
–
"Help!"
"No! Stop. Please don't kill me."
"Where is the Legendary Healer? We need him after all!"
…
Bryan and Melissa watched as the Adventurers and Knigths alike were being killed one by one. After the announcement of the penalty, the army of the dead became more aggressive. Their overall attributes were increased and some of them grew wings so they could fly.
This caused a huge panic in the Adventurers' part, causing them to lose formation and for their morale to drop significantly.
"Bryan, what do we do?" Melissa asked. "You told us you could protect us. You even drove away Glenn and his friends."
"Their power was threatening us," Bryan growled. "Can't you feel how scary it was if they would enslave us all? The part where they save us were just a front, a facade, just to earn our trust."
"I wish I never listened to you," Melissa furiously said. "I'm going to find Glenn. I will ask him to save this town."
"You only need me, Melissa," Bryan said. "Don't do it."
"Shut up," Melissa growled and ran away to search for Glenn.
Meanwhile, a man approached Bryan and was laughing. The curly, slender man placed his hands on either of Bryan's shoulders, leaning in his ear, "Now go to a bell tower and announce that you find out that Glenn is the mastermind of all these."
Like a soulless shell of a body, Bryan stood straight, eyes blank and face void with expressions. "Glenn is the cause of all these. He is the mastermind behind these disasters."
"Start a manhunt for Glenn," the other man said. "Don't stop until you kill him."
"Kill Glenn," Bryan said. "Manhunt for Glenn."
Bryan shook his head and ran to his men where he ordered them to come with him and look for Glenn. Meanwhile, the man stood, smiling.
Screech!
A flying undead soldier was about to slash its sword onto the man but before the beast could even reach him, its body exploded like it was punched by a strong but invisible force. Even the blood that was spilled only splattered on one direction, which was away from the man.
"Oh, Glenn," the man grinned. "You're so fun to watch."
–
Panting, John and Gina, together with the younger Adventurers ran along the forest floor with some of the undead soldiers trailing behind them.
"What the hell?" Gina gasped. "These beasts are everywhere. We killed a lot of them, yet there's still more."
"The significant growth in their power is overwhelming," John said. "I'm sure the entire town had fallen right now."
"Everyone, climbed that tree up ahead," Gina stopped and slammed her hands on the ground. "Metaphor! From forest to swamp!"
A bright yellow light swallowed a large part of the forest. The dry soil became muddy, the trees grew vines and the temperature dropped heavily. When the light vanished, the once beautiful forest transformed into the disgusting swamp.
"Ugh," Gina grunted as she felt the watery soil on her feet. "Disgusting."
The skeleton soldiers got stuck in the mud. "A lot of these mud are quicksand. They should be trapped in here for a while."
"Come here," John called out to her. Gina jumped to a branch of the tree she pointed at, the only thing in the forest which she did not alter. "Glenn's condition seems to be more stabilized than before."
"That's good," Gina sighed. "I'm still trying to figure out where we'll go aftet this. Glenn really like that town."
"Big Brother Assassin, Big Sister Enchanter, do you think Galaron has been conquered by now?" Felix couldn't help himself but ask. "The poor citizens of Galaron. I don't want them to die."
"Listen," Gina cleared her throat as she prepared to speak. "I wanted to be as nice as possible, but seeing as this is our new reality, we just have to accept it. The citizens you though were nice, wasn't so nice to your Big Brother Healer."
"But they were so nice to us," Cecil pursed her lips. "Why can't they be nice to him?"
"To be honest, I also don't know," Gina muttered. "They must have their reason to treat yout Big Brother Healer that way, but whatever it is, I'm sure it's not nice."
"I heard an old woman say that Big Brother Healer was a big fraud and only wants attention," Don spoke up. "At first I didn't mind her because maybe she was just misinformed, but she started to spew rude things about him and I wanted to… I wanted to stop her but nobody would listen to me."
"We're listening right now," Glenn chuckled, making everyone turn to his direction. The man grinned and shrugged. "What? I am listening. And I know what's happening now."
"You do?" Gina asked. "But what?"
"Viros is not dead," Glenn said. "To eradicate a General, you must destroy all of its hearts. They have seven and if I could remember, I only stabbed one."
"So, she's still in there?" Gina asked. "Viros is still inside the town?"
The tall man walked and his body started to morph. Every step, his body and clothes would changed until he became a tall woman in a dark purple gown.
"Oh, Glenn," Viros chuckled. "You're such a naughty boy."
