Chereads / Healers Can't Deal Damage / Chapter 10 - The Enchantress

Chapter 10 - The Enchantress

Assassins, especially Rogues like John has a set of skills that allow him to work in secret. He can turn invisible if he uses certain skills, silence the sound he produce, or even erase certain memories from people.

His plan was to use a wide spread skill in order to erase Glenn's identity in everyone's mind. This would allow them to continue their secrecy as the only people who knew of God's Omen and their previous world.

"I'm an Enchanter," Gina introduced. "I'm part of the Mage role, the Enchanter. I'm from another town south from here and I traveled to this town to find another one of us."

"You're the only one who knows about God's Omen in your town?" John asked. "Or did something happen to the other one?"

"Executed," Gina said. "I don't think our town was the only one who suffered from the deadly parasite miasma. It seems like all the towns, these channels, we all faced the same crisis. It's just… in our town, we couldn't get past through it."

"Then let's help this one," John said. "You're an Enchanter, right? Then, you must have the Mastery Enhancement skill."

"I do," Gina said. "I assume you're going to cast Memory Alteration in these people? With this scope, you'll die before you could even get to half of them. It's a miracle how that healer could purify all of these people."

"That's why I need your help," John said. "If you help me with this one, I'll let you meet the healer who cleansed this town off he miasma."

"Deal," Gina nodded. She raised her staff and summoned a blue magic circle in the air, right above John who placed his dagger right in his chest. "I'll start. Mastery Enhancement!"

The magic circle fell down towards John, fusing with his body which made his body glow with a blue color. He took a deep breath and calculated the scope of his skill, spanning from the northern wall of their town, down to the southernmost mill.

"Memory Alteration!" John cast. His dagger was flooded with runes that lead outside of the blade and into the town, entering the minds of the people who looked at the floating symbols in question.

"What's this?"

"These are runes?"

"What are they doing here?"

The entire town was filled with questions as the runes completed their span of the entire area. John then took a deep breath and yelled. "Forget Glenn's identity!"

The runes entered the people of Galaron. When these runes fused with their bodies, their memories became altered. Glenn's face vanished from their memory along with what he did and how he did it.

It took a couple of minutes for Memory Alteration to complete, but when it did finished, everyone in Galaron was now obvious. It was like Glenn's entire existence vanished from everyone's minds.

Panting, John fell to his knees. Gina had to cast a basic healing spell onto him so he could recover at least a portion of his power. Even when he was given the enchantment which allowed him to increase the effects of his ability by 400%, he still needed to use a lot of his own just to reach all the nooks and crannies of their town.

"That was good," Gina nodded. "No less from a Level 90 Rogue."

"I'm part of the Beta testers," John said. "We have our own special ways."

"I am too," Gina said with a smirk. "Now, take me to where the Healer is. He needs to explain everything."

Back in the forest where Glenn rests, the children just saw the bright blue light that engulfed Galaron from where they stood. When they got back to where Glenn rested, they saw the man already sitting up and touching his head.

"Big Brother Healer," Patrick ran towards Glenn. "Are you okay now?"

"My energy was just extremely depleted," Glenn said, but in his mind he was saying something. "Maybe I should've equipped my best gear before I purified the entire town. That took a heavy toll on me."

The kids were concerned for him, but he was more concerned of the aftermath of what he did. He showed everyone his true powers, that he could cast such complex and high level magic.

"Even for Level 90s, that wasn't normal."

Gina Oswold walked towards them with crossed arms. "I am one too and my ally was also a Healer. He was a professional player and– why are there so many of you?"

Glenn shook his head, "Not here."

"You should talk somewhere else," John suggested. "I'll watch over these children."

Glenn used whatever strength he got to stand. He also supported himself with his staff, using it as a cane for him to walk and lead Gina from where the children were.

"Who and what are you?" Gina immediately asked. "And why are those children with you?"

"I am Glenn Adams," Glenn introduced. "I didn't even get to introduce myself to John, but my in game name is Krimxon Prinxe."

"The legendary Healer of God's Omen's first League," Gina whispered. "My in game name is Ice Queen. We battled at the semi-finals of the first League."

"I remember," Glenn said and smirked. "The Enchantress who could enhance skills way above anyone's comprehension. I was watching over your moves in the League."

"But why is this happening to us?" Gina asked. "And that John, he said is in game name is Absolute Miracle, but he's not a pro player."

"Let's deduce these conditions when John is here, for now, tell me what happened to your town," Glenn said. "From one of the first introductory quests, the grandmother and the parasite in the son."

"The miasma of the parasite had already infected the people from our town, Osha," Gina sighed. "I was with the other Level 90, hunting the Iron Blue Bugs when he was taken and was executed. He was a healer and he was blamed for the poison."

"This is ridiculous," Glenn said. "Why is God's Omen doing this to us and what happened after that?"

"I came up here and saw the bright white beam," Gina said. "Glenn, the skill you cast to purify these people showed your location. You basically announced your identity to everyone."

"And that's bad because?" Glenn pouted.

"The other towns," Gina said. "With the players who failed to purify their people. They will think you're one of the Lord of Darkness's General. A colored beam of light signifies a settlement of a General, do you even know that?"

Glenn shook his head in disbelief, "No. I do not."
