Chapter 26 - Marry me Charity

"Intern?" Sebastian called staring at the corridor. His hand in his pocket and his head straight, those sharp blue eyes fixed on his target. The whole rose in attention and Charis rose as well, a startled gasp escaping her lips when she met his eyes.

"I called the intern" he repeated and both interns looked at each other before they stepped out from behind their cubicles and walked to the middle of the room. "Not you, her," he said to the guy that walked out with Charis. "Get me coffee."

Charis' eyes furrowed and she looked up at him in surprise at his sudden request. "I don't have a secretary yet you see." He said and she nodded softly. Sebastian scoffed in his mind, she was she a pushover.

"Hot, double shot espresso, serve it in a mug on a tray. I won't drink it any other way." He said plainly turning around and just like that he walked away. Charis scanned the room and walked to her cubicle, hanging her purse around her neck she walked out of the office. Heading to the nearest cafe she made her order and it was by the time she was to pay that she realized that she hadn't thought to collect a card. It was just coffee anyway, she collected it, stopping by another shop to buy a mug and a tray.

After she had transferred the coffee to the mug, she placed it on a tray. Knocking on his door she push the door open and entered. It was the first time she had been in the CEO's office and she had to say it was pretty impressive. Everything was white and clean, it had a very modern chic vibe and she found herself wondering if something of the sort would ever happen to her. He barely looked at her when she walked in, and as she dropped the cup and nodded slightly and turned to walk away.

"Where are you going?" He asked and she turned back around, her brow up in question.

"Back to work," she said matter of factly.

"Aren't you going to wait to see if the coffee is to my satisfaction?" He asked and a gasp of realization escaped her lips, she walked back and watched as he picked up the cup and sipped from it. Frowning when his features morphed into one that could not be mistaken for anything other than the dissatisfaction he clearly felt at the moment.

"What? What is wrong? Does it taste bad?" She asked.

He looked up at her and shook his head, "it's cold."

Her features drooped and she stepped forward to take the tray, "I am sorry about that. I must have wasted too much time buying the mug."

"You must have, you will get me another cup now won't you?" He asked and she nodded,.

"Of course, I will."

"You are kidding right?" Charity stated, stepping away from Absalom. "This is not what we agreed on."

"Why do you keep pushing me away?"

Her eyes widened and she huffed, "fine, since you want me to repeat this a million times, you are not the type of guy no, I am not the type of girl that can give you what you want." She replied.

"And what is this thing that I want and you cannot give me?"

"Sex."

Absalom laughed, "fine, if that was off the table would you give me a chance?"

She frowned, folding her arms across her chest. "That's absurd, I am not going to be in an open relationship."

"Who said anything about open relationships?"

"Oh, so you are willing to go two years or so without sleeping with anyone at all?" She asked,

"Two years?"

"Yeah, that's how long I am willing to date before I even consider marriage, or did you make this offer without wanting to marry me?" She asked, loving the shocked expression she was seeing on his face. Then all of a sudden it was gone, his eyes had become serious and he stepped towards her and as much as she would have loved to step away she found she couldn't move, no, she didn't want to.

"Do you really think it would take that long to get hitched if that was what we were doing?" He asked his voice dropping an octave, as those dangerous eyes scanned her entire frame in such a short amount of time. But then again there was a lot of her.

"What, what are you saying?"

"I like you, I want to sleep with you of course" he stated plainly, and as she opened her mouth to object she stop her. "If the only way to do so is to marry you then so be it. We don't have to wait two years to do it, you are free, I am free let's do it. Marry me Charity."
