Charis' cheeks flamed and she swallowed hard as she came back to the office, heading directly to Prisca's desk as she entered. Prisca looked up from her computer and scoffed when her gaze met the younger woman. "What do you want?"
Biting her lip she looks down at her feet, "I..." she sighed heavily, "I came to report to work." She knew the reaction she was going to get yet she needed to do this, apart from the attendance recorded when you showed your ID card at the machine to get into the building t was company policy to check in with your superior when you came to work. It was paramount for a recommendation for a permanent job after a year of internship.
It seemed futile doing so when her superior was so obvious in her dislike for Charis but she couldn't choose not to do it either. So far Charis had not missed a day and she intended on keeping it that way. The disregard in Prisca's eyes was vivid and Charis shut her eyes in anxious expectation, too impatient to have the lecture and public embarrassment over and done with.
"Intern" Sebastian's voice called from the other side of the door and even Prisca gasped. "Come here" he said his words curt and his eyes narrow. Did she do something wrong again? She looked at Prisca briefly before she ran out after Sebastian.
Even with her long legs, she had to run to keep up with him, he spared no consideration walking into his office. So he got there long before her, the moment she walked into the office she was blinded by fabric. It took a moment for Charis to realize what happened when she saw a grey jacket on the floor right at her feet.
She looked up at him and he was clutching the crisp white shirt so tightly it hurt her to see such an evenly pressed shirt crumple up in his fist. If the fact that he didn't just throw his jacket at her face didn't give away the fact that he was mad then perhaps his tightening fist. If that still wasn't enough then perhaps the fierce look in his eyes, Charis shrunk at the sight and her eyes instantly ping-ponged back to her feet.
"Look at me" he commanded but she was too startled to do so, "I said you should look at me," he ordered again his voice going higher, but instead of forcing her into compliance it just happened to do the exact opposite. She took a step back and Sebastian huffed, the room echoing the sounds of his angry steps towards her. But Charis' sense of survival screamed even louder so, with each step he took she took on backward, the routine of going until her door broke the tedious cycle.
Instantly after that his right arm slammed into the door by her head and she let out a small yelp, turning to the opposite side to escape his left hand came down hard as well. Trapping her in the heat of his fit form. With a finger under her chin, he lifted her head up and finally got her to look him in the eye.
"What I'm I going to do with you?"

"Fine, we won't do this but you have to go on at least ten dates with me, after that if you still are so reluctant about having me in your life I will leave." He said, "just ten dates, please."
"What do you have to lose? It's not like you have anything better to do" he added and Charity scoffed. "I will not walk away from your life until you agree to go on these dates with me."
Charity opened her mouth to speak but shut it again when words just refused to come out. "Why are you so desperate for this? Look I may look attractive and fit but there are so many more beautiful women who would give anything to have this chance with you. You don't even have to look that hard I am not that pretty, why are you so persistent?"
"I could ask you the same thing, you almost got married to a terrorist but won't even let me have a chance with you?"
Her jaw dropped and she couldn't help but laugh, "wow, at least I did not meet him a sex bar where he was basically forcing me to sleep with him!" She retorted and they heard the Judge gasp.
They all turned to the older woman, realising the awkwardness of the situation she cleared her throat and avoided eye contact. "What are you two doing? This is a courtroom, if you will not be getting married then you should leave." She said and Charity glared at him, walking out of the room but Absalom soon caught up to her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her along with him, whilst ignoring her complaints.
"All this because of that night? Can't someone make a mistake? How can you just judge me because of one night?"
"And how can you want to marry after what? Meeting me once? Which sounds more crazy, go out to the street and ask anybody!"
