Absalom sighed, why was she so stubborn? "What you haven't heard of love at first sight? Or in addition to being so, freaking stubborn are you also such a sadist? I thought Christians were supposed to be believing people!"
The corner of Charity's top lip lifted at the absurdity of his statement, "do you even hear yourself? No also means no." She said turning around to walk away but he grabbed her arm, stopping her from leaving. "Hey!" She yelled.
"Is that why you shiver every time I touch you?" He said, his eyes widening, and suddenly this burly man began to look softer, as much as she would have hated to admit more sincere.
"You do realize that none of this matters right?" She said and he threw his back in frustration.
"Please Charity, at least have some pity, what I'm I supposed to do when I want you so much?" She pulled her arm out of his grip.
"That is the point. I can't give you what you want, I won't be-"
"Fine, sex is off the table, even becoming a man of the night's watch is what you require, is what I have to do to have you then so my watch begins." He said, his eyes full of nothing but sincerity but still she couldn't believe it, she wouldn't believe it.
"I don't believe you, and I won't be in an open relationship," she said softly.
"You are pretty stupid for someone so confident," he said and she glared at him. "For someone so against sex, you seem to hold it in such high esteem. Can't you see how badly I want you, no how badly I need you? I get that we just met and this can be scary. I also understand that it is not conventional in this day and age and to be honest I never thought I was capable of doing something like this." He said, walking closer to her.
"I can't explain it but there is just something about it that brings me to my knees, you have no idea the power you hold Charity" he whispered, his hands slowly reaching for her, as their eyes locked and he bared his soul to her. Pouring even clearer deeper truths into her than he spoke, Charity's mind numbed. All the doubts, all the excuses everything she came up with to resist this man began to vanish. There was that small voice screaming at her to run away but she numbed that as well. What was this man doing to her?
"I simply have to have you, I want all of you to belong to only me, as I am already all yours." He continued, his arm around her waist as he gently pulled her to himself. "All I am asking is for one chance, I have never wanted anything in my life as I want you. The feeling is so intense that I could never imagine feeling this way about anything else, please Charity."
Something about how he begged her, how he handed all the power to her made Charity drunk. There were no games, it was clear who loved the other more and for the first time, she had felt powerful and in charge.
"Nothing more nothing less, ten dates it is."

Charis knew she must be absolutely mad! She was in this situation yet her body burned for attention becoming even more aware of the man standing before her. She felt so hot and so needy the intensity of it dizzying to her. All the reasons came flooding back to her as she remembered exactly why she had tossed his card into the trash and why she needed this man to be anywhere but in her life. When did she become so openly wanton? When had she become a person that lusted after another person?
It took a whole lot of self-control for Sebastian not to just place his open mouth over hers, drawing heat from those soft lips and her shy tongue. Especially after he noticed her clench her thighs, how could she be so responsive? It was like she was made just for him.
"M-Mr, Mr. Delvey?" She squeaked when he hadn't said anything, trembling as he stared at her with such an obvious intent. His gaze caused the heat in Charis to burn even hotter, if she didn't know better she would have thought he wanted her.
Looking away, he cleared his throat and spoke, "you brought the wrong clothes."
"Huh?" She gasped, widening those doe eyes at him, he looked away again, almost unable to resist the innocence he saw in those eyes. He had the dangerous craving to take that innocence and cultivate such a passion in her that she burned so hot for him. Annoyance from the fact that even if this was something he desired intensely he had to wait, he had to be patient. Charis was like a mountain animal being hunted, any small mistake, even a small startle she would be feeling to the other ends of the world. He couldn't wait another month if she ran away.
"Get the clothes back and pick up the right ones. These aren't mine" he said curtly, "How do manage to mess that up as well?" He said, walking back to his desk as soon as he did. He had intended to yell at her, cause he to flinch and bite her lips the way she did whenever she was scolded. But that was all he could manage at that time, even as she slowly picked up the clothes and left the room after a heartwrenching sorry he couldn't look. Out of fear that he wouldn't be able to stop himself if he did.
