Chapter 28 - He makes her want to do bad things

Charis crashed unto her bed and went out cold, but when her alarm rang in the morning she felt like she had just laid down to sleep, groaning she reached for her alarm clock by her bedside suddenly realizing that wasn't the source of the noise.

Her phone as though to answer her question, switched on, illuminating dimly the darkroom. She grabbed the phone and groaned, she did just lie down. A mixture of relief and annoyance settled on her, it wasn't morning yet, thankfully. An urge passed through to refuse the call, after all, it was an unknown number but she answered it last minute.

"Miss Sweeney?"

Charis pulled the phone away and stared at it for a moment, was she hearing things? That sounded like Sebastian. Placing the phone back in her ears she responded, "Good evening, who am I speaking to?"

"You keep ripping into me, can't you recognize my voice?"He said again.

"Mr. Delvey?"

"You got it, are you asleep?" He asked and as she was about to respond yes he spoke again, "what I'm I asking? You are clearly not since you are speaking to me on the phone."

"Actually-"

"Can I ask a favor please?"

A favor? Another favor? Biting her lips she looked at the clock on her bedside table, at 11:53. It was almost midnight, "what favor? At this time of the day?"

"Oh it's not for right now" he said and she sighed easily, "I have an important meeting tomorrow and I left my suit at the dry cleaners. I won't have time to pick it up tomorrow so will you go get it for me?"

Charis' lips parted, "uh... I have some-"

"You can go there first and come later to work" he added, and she sighed again. "So can I count on you? Will you help me?"

"What is the name of the dry cleaner?" She asked.

"Oh yeah, the gentleman's choice. It's at the upper side of town," He replied. She had a lot of work to do with the presentation that she couldn't do today with all the errands that she ran but she could do one more thing, after all it was just to pick up laundry right?

"Of course, I will get it for you sir" she replied after a while.

"Great! I knew I could count on you intern." And that was it, the call was over, disconnected.

Charis felt sad, why did he call her intern, did he really not remember her? She had thought about him every day for the last month, mulling it over in her head if she had made the right decision or not to toss his card into the trash. She had never really been attracted to anyone else so strongly for that long before so even though he made her want to do bad things she couldn't help but regret it.

"I guess I missed my chance, even though, I'm I really that unmemorable?"

"Wow if it isn't our dear and special intern that is even more scarce than the CEO himself," Prisca said as soon as Charis walked in. Of course, causing everybody else to turn to her, she kept her head down as she walked around all the scrutinizing gazes to her cubicle. Setting her bag down shut her eyes for a brief moment, praying for strength to make it out of the room again.

"The CEO has asked me to pick up something for his meeting later, I will go and give it to him now." She said without looking at Prisca, and without waiting for her to reply she quickly left the room but not without hearing Prisca's added comment.

"Wow, she doesn't even greet anymore, she must think she is all that after just one day of running errands!"

What was wrong with that woman really? Seriously? Would it kill her to just leave me alone? Charis thought bitterly.

Knocking lightly on the doors she pushed Sebastian's doors open and walked into the room, he was standing with his back to her. Busy on his phone, facing the open glass that offered a view of most of the city. She set the clothes down and instead of leaving as she ought to, she found herself admiring his profile. She always thought men that wore suits had some class and maturity to them. But she never really knew what she liked, when guys looked hot in leather jackets and jeans she thought that was nice, then when she saw handsome guys in suits that attracted her as well. Then the ones that wore sweatpants or jerseys just seemed to look so cool.

But right now it seemed suits were her best pick, he looked like he could walk out of a fashion magazine, the way his hair lay on top of his head and his neck although long still looked firm and strong. Not to mention that lean but sinewy frame of his, and his long legs framed perfectly in those pants it was just...

"Miss Sweeney?" Sebastian's voice snapped her out of her blatant admiration of him.

She blinked, stepped back, and then looked at those blue eyes, the tilt to his lips, he knew she was staring at him! Suddenly heat flooded her cheeks and before he could say anymore she dashed out of the room.
