He was bluffing and she was going to catch his bluff, She knew his type, he would promise sweet nothings. Promise the entire world just to get what he wanted and the moment he had gotten it she would be dropped stone cold. The most annoying part was that even though she knew what he was trying to do some part of her felt trilled. It was crazy, the entire situation, the fact that a dirt poor woman like her met this extremely rich man that was also incredibly sexy, and worse he was interested in her. Who was the devil trying to deceive? She knew a temptation when she saw one and Absalom was by all definitions a reason someone would go to hell. Not that she was going to hell or anything but still, he was bad for her and she knew it.
Plus he just had to appear at this very vulnerable time in her life, like a night in shining armor, she should never have accepted that money. No matter what he said it always left a bitter taste in his mouth whenever she had to remind him of his benevolence. No matter what it wasn't right to force him to just give away that money no matter how rich he claimed he was.
She wasn't a fool it was obvious what he was trying to do, and she was going to put an end to this foolishness right now.
"Yes," she said and she could see Remy's eyes from behind Absalom. But Absalom just smiled, like he was expecting her to say yes from the beginning, how incredibly narcissistic.
"Remy get the car, let's go to the courthouse," Absalom said, stretching out his hand for her to take, and she did, slipping her hand into she turned around and walked to the car with him.
"Let's go get married future, Mrs. Moretti."

Charis watched as Sebastian dumped the third cup of coffee into the trash can beside him along with the sandwich he had requested. He didn't tell her he hated garlic, how was she supposed to know not to request any?
Her legs trembled from the exhaustion and she felt like she was about to faint. Then he looked up and smiled at her, "I hope you are not too tired?"
She blinked, smiling back, "of course not."
"I am sorry to disturb you like this but you just keep making mistakes. It's okay, I don't have to send you anymore, I'll just eat when I get back to my hotel. At least I will have gone through a diet today since I haven't eaten anything today."
Charis' eyes widened, "ah, you haven't eaten?"
"It's okay, you are dismissed." He said, looking back at his computer.
"I will, I will get something else for you. Is there any other thing you would want?" She asked.
"No, it's okay. You'll probably just mess it up again-"
"I won't. I promise I won't just give me one more chance, I promise I will get this right."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yes, yes sir."
"Okay then."

They had pulled into the state building and currently waiting in line to be married. Charity had expected them to come to the courthouse, of course, so it didn't come as a surprise when they drove in, even though he had to show some face. Then the walked in and registered, okay... he was really intent on getting in her pants, she knew that. It was quite flattering, there was no way he would go into that room with her.
"Mr. Moretti and Mrs. Sweeney?" The attendant called and he got up.
"Let's go," he said with that hand out for her again.
Blinking up at him she huffed, so he was willing to go this far to put on a show? Alright, two can play at that game she thought. Taking his hand she got up and followed behind.
"Okay, Mr. Moretti and Miss. Sweeney? Where are your witnesses?" The judge asked.
"Right here, we just need two right?"
Charity turned around to see Remy and the woman that styled her for that party enter and she looked at Absalom with wide eyes. "You are serious?"
He gave her a pointed look and smiled, gripping her hand tighter. "Of course, wife."
"Oh don't call me that? How can you want to marry me? We just met!" She yelled stepping back. Giving the judge a sympathetic look he walked to Charity, "You said yes, we came all this way what is going on?"
Her lips parted in utter shock, "what is going on? Did you actually expect me to go along with this? I was calling your bluff."
"I wasn't bluffing."
"Yeah, well that is obvious now isn't it?" She said throwing her hands in the air.
"Fine, we won't do this but you have to go on at least ten dates with me, after that if you still are so reluctant about having me in your life I will leave." He said, "just ten dates, please."
