Chereads / Reincarnation of a Calm Scholar / Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Guests

Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Guests

There were no seasons on the Boundless Star. Instead, this world was governed by magical forces, as powerful beings could decide what climate change they wanted with their ingenious formations and creations.

Felix was amazed by how convenient climate control was. He read in the library that the Purple Stand Westgate branch was in Eternal Spring Formation. It was always a warm and bright spring-like atmosphere in here.

After he renounced his old name, almost a year has passed.

He learned why this whole time seemed like a waste to him. After all, he didn't learn anything substantial over all these years.

"Well, it truly sucks! Why can't they give us the information? I would have already learned so much on my own."

Felix was disappointed to find out that all the information in the library was pretty much just some worn-out junk.

Sure, there were numerous spells, cultivation methods, and all that stuff. However, Felix heard directly from Gyro that the Clan teaches cultivation inside the headquarters ' star.

Gyro explained that all the information found in other branches were old, unconfirmed, or outdated tomes that the Clan had collected over many years.

It seemed that he would only learn when they went back to the homeworld.

"I am looking forward to this so-called headquarters!" Felix smiled as he thought of his conversation with his father.

Silver has told him about the secret mission, and they plan to go back to the headquarters.

Felix knew that people from headquarters would reach the Boundless Star only a few days from now. Then, he will learn more about the Clan.

Thus, Felix's wait began, and he trained his Mind Palace to pass the time.

"Are we prepared, Abbadon?" Gyro's voice sounded inside the main hall of the Purple Sand Westgate branch.

"Yes, we have cleaned all the sensitive information and collect all valuables. I have arranged the welcoming ceremony and everyone around the Boundless Star is on the way. I have made the arrangements of our related powers. Thus we can leave at any time."

Abbadon reported as Gyro scanned through the documents and recent information.

"It appears that those disciple creatins from the central are unconvinced!"

Gyro sneered disdainfully as he skimmed through the central branch response to their invitation.

"They were becoming stupider over the years, forgetting their purpose. It will be quite a show when they find out everything." Abbadon laughed and continued his reports.

The Purple Sand branch experts knew the central branch's corruption and lousy record. However, they didn't report it as they considered it a waste of time.

"Whatever, let them be. After all, they were disciples of Titled Gods, so they can't be useless, huh?" Gyro said as he continued to go through the news.

"Senior Gyro, how is that kid doing?" Abbadon changed the subject as he found the central branch unworthy of his attention.

"Hehe, you will know soon. When the guests arrive, he will be in the spotlight again." Gyro said mysteriously and frowned when a new report reached his hands.

"What is this, Abbadon? Didn't you say there will be no mistakes? How can there be a massive sacrifice, especially on this continent?!!" Gyro raised his voice as anger tainted his calm eyes.

"What?! Let me see!" Abbadon took the report and frowned as he read the information.

It seemed that the capital of Lokapalas Empire, where they established the Purple Sand branch, was utterly devoid of life!

"Senior Gyro, we did as you commanded... Every city had an informant from our branch, and the capitals had one World Class Stage expert stationed in case of an emergency!"

Abbadon said with a complicated voice as he looked at Gyro, whose face showed demonic rage!

"Someone dared to kill our clan member?!" Gyro had a chilling voice, his killing intent almost visible.

"Senior Gyro, if the report is accurate, then the Boundless Star has a dark sect working in the shadows. However, it is not for us to decide what course of action to take now, as these lunatics dared to sacrifice even a fifty million people city!"

Abbadon was scared of the killing intent but still said what he thought.

"WHAT DARK SECT?!!! THEY ARE TRASH! DO YOU HEAR ME, TRASH!!"

Gyro exploded with godly rage as his angry voice echoed through the whole palace.

Abbadon knew that such vast sacrifices were made only by demonic sects.

He read that every dark sect had a demonic temple behind its back in the reports from headquarters. This term was how everyone called Demonic Cultivation Sects that became evil.

This universe has countless power schools, from the ancient Magi civilizations to a holy Buddhist Temple.

Naturally, some dangerous forces used any means necessary to become stronger.

One of such forces was a Demonic Temple. There were more than one of such authorities, and the sacrifices of huge cities were their trademark.

Abbadon was sure it was a dark sect, and he knew that at least one Principle God was involved in such filthy business.

Sadly, he also knew that someone important to Gyro was sacrificed when he was just a child. That is why this situation made God so angry.

"We will do as the protocol dictates, Abbadon. However, if you don't find any clues before guests arrive, prepare yourself for a tasty flight!"

Gyro calmed down and issued a command to Abbadon, who became like a deflated balloon when he heard that he had to complete this or receive Gyro's rage.

"Damn those maniacs, such terrible timing!" Abbadon was very irritated as he began to plan how to find the perpetrator. After all, he knew that it would look better to the guests if he accomplished something about this shameful event.

Felix was oblivious that maniacs sacrificed a city and continued his calm meditation on the training mountain.

Felix looked at his Mind Palace and was impressed every time he saw the transformation after constructing his seventh rune of Life energy.

He already had the fire, water, earth, wind, light, and darkness runes. But only after he condensed the life rune did his Mind Palace evolve again.

Now it looked like a small planet, or more like the moon in his previous life, only without the craters.

This tiny planet was revolving in his Mind-Space as a fire rune acted like a sun when a light rune accompanied it.

The water rune was just a small lake on the planet's surface, and the earth rune was somewhere deep inside it.

Darkness rune was on the opposite side of the light rune, and Felix thought it looked like a night bringer always hiding from the light.

Wind rune was as wild as ever, energetically traveling all over the place.

Felix also noticed that foreign energies and seeds of other powers were dormant now. He felt no pressure no matter how much he absorbed.

"Now, I don't have any clues for other embryos. So I should take a break." So Felix decided when he completed his meditation.

As time passed, he learned that he couldn't force his comprehension. It either came on its own or not.

When he couldn't train, he liked to spend his time in the library. Even though many of the books were useless, he loved reading about all the weird stuff recorded.

Felix read thousands of books and records during his few years on this planet.

He learned about plants and beasts, ores, and materials. He broadened his horizons by learning more ancient languages and even trained his alchemy with the help of grandma Ofelia.

He could already refine some materials if they were not of high caliber.

Felix also learned some fighting spells that he found helpful. Indeed, he used his shuffle tomes to train. However, he found them to be very confusing and hard to learn.

The ancient scroll was the most difficult. Felix could only manifest one element of beasts through its teaching.

His favorite beast was a firebird. It looked extraordinarily lifelike and remarkable.

The spells he found in the library were always full of defects. So it was the only explanation Felix could find for his Mind Palace to reject the spell formations depicted inside those tomes.

"I should wait until we travel to the headquarters. Then I will find out why all this information seems so bizarre to me."

Felix still maintained his eternal calm behavior.

Soon, a week passed, and three bells rang as one more branch arrived to wait for the headquarter's guests to arrive.

Felix counted that more than a hundred lines of Clan arrived just from this Boundless Star.

Only now, he was sure that this Clan was a colossal entity. Felix could feel nearby members of the Westgate Clan after his baptism, but he wasn't sure if it was individuals or groups.

Thousands of experts arrived, and most of them had reached the fourth stage of cultivation.

The Boundless Star was in chaos when such a swarm of experts revealed themselves.

The Westgate Clan used the hermit method to exist in this world. Only in the central continent, the leading branch was a bit more knowns as a strong clan.

However, even with the central branch's arrogant behavior, they still didn't show off too much of their power. Hence not many even heard of this Westgate clan.

Now that thousands of fourth and above stage experts appeared, the Boundless Star experts were shocked to discover they were just frogs inside a well.

Some Boundless Star's fifth and sixth stage experts followed the Westgate clan's experts and waited inside Dragon-Kite city to determine what this commotion was.

The Purple Star branch accommodated everyone without any discrimination. They just showed how insignificant others were to this ancient Clan.

If you want to watch, watch then. We don't care as long as you follow the rules.

Contempt filled the Westgate Clan for this ant-like existence from this backwater place.

Even though you could say that the leading branch was involved in ruling this star from the shadows, even they felt contempt for such a tiny place, with only a few good inheritances.

Felix would differ with these opinions as this world was miles apart from Earth. However, he had little knowledge of the outside world.

He heard that the distinguished guests would arrive only in three days, and his great-great-great-grandfather would arrive as well. So, Felix decided to spend some time with granny and mom to learn etiquette and family stories.

The time arrived fast, and only a few hours remained until the event.

Felix was waiting in a huge waiting area in front of the branch palace.

There were rows of people waiting patiently. They were standing according to their status in the Clan.

Regular members were standing according to their level of cultivation. Weaker ones were waiting in the far back, and the strongest was standing closer to the front.

Purple Sand branch placed the central branch experts near themselves as they were still descendants of Xitian Star experts.

The front row consisted of Gyrus, Abbadon, Ofelia, and experts at Titled God Stage.

The first time the central continent's people saw this line of powerhouses, they lost their will to argue for rewards as they declined to a state where they only had a few Titled Gods. So now they stood with deflated spirits while watching the backs of these previously unremarkable Purple Sand branch leaders.

"They are here! Everyone salutes your elders from the Ximen Star Domain!" Felix heard his grandfather's command and quickly assumed a respectful saluting position.

Felix already heard that Ximen Star people had higher status and had a commanding ability over other branches all over the star fields.

He concluded that everyone inside Ximen Star Domain was responsible for governing the clan affairs.

Felix heard a rumbling sound as a considerable shadow created night in the middle of a day covering the sky.

"What is this thing..." Felix dropped his jaw in shock like some hillbilly.

Only the experts were still calm. Everyone else below Titled God had shocked expressions.

A colossal ship descended towards the Dragon Kite city with shining crystal and metallic materials.

Soon it stopped and hovered above the Purple Sand branch estate.

Felix was sure this ship was at least thousands of kilometers long, and its size was unbelievable.

"How can this ship maintain such control of the surroundings? I don't feel any wind blowing as it moved closer to this place." Felix was shocked by this technological level of magic.

"Felix, calm down. You look very uncouth with such an expression. " Sitri rubbed Felix's head and calmed his shocked face.

Felix regained his composure and watched as people flew out from the giant ship.

Three men and two women in the group appeared above the waiting crowd.

"We greet the Ximen Elders!" Everyone waiting saluted with a respectful tone.

"Everyone, raise your heads!"

Felix heard a soft voice coming from above as a plain-looking woman waved her hand and diffused this critical atmosphere.

"I am elder Xi, from the Inner Palace of Ximen! You can call me elder Xi in the future."

Felix heard this woman introduce herself in a calming manner. But, unfortunately, it looked like she disliked such occasions quite a lot.

"That is correct. You all don't need to be so nervous. After all, I am from this branch as well."

Soon everyone heard a booming voice similar to Abbadons howl through the air.

Felix looked at this man, shocked by how similar he looked to Abbadon.

The only difference was their completely different styles of clothing and hair color.

Their faces were almost identical.

"Well, that is what I call an uncanny resemblance." Felix joked inside his mind.

"I have trained inside the Ximen Star, and only now I returned as you finished this mission. Now I am a full-fledged Principal God, so trust me when the Clan cultivates everyone willing to work hard. So keep going, and you will reach other stages as well!"

Felix heard the encouraging words of this man, who had a booming voice.

"You can all call me senior Thunder!" The man introduced himself and smiled cheerfully.

"Let's get on with this, shall we? I am Victoria, pleased to meet you." The second woman rushed to introduce herself and softly landed.

"Fine, we shouldn't keep you waiting. I am Fara. You can also call me elder Sound in the future."

One of the three men introduced himself, and Felix noticed that his voice had such a musical sound that it was alarmingly beautiful.

This man looked like a pop star from his previous life, very cool looking and beautifully dressed.

"Little Sound, don't be a rascal. If I hear your Principal Voice again, you will have to stay inside the ship!"

The man who spoke now was looking very old. But from its looks, he had the highest status among the five people.

"I'm General Feng from the headquarters ' foreign affairs department!"

The older man, who had a very mild and warm look, said concisely.

"You can address me, General Feng or Elder Feng. I won't mind that! Now everyone, let's go inside. I am looking forward to this planet's cuisine!"

General Feng descended and led the group towards the palace, completely ignoring everyone else.

Abbadon was a little embarrassed by this, but he soon regained his composure and led the man to the reception hall, which was ready to accommodate every single one of them without a problem.

Everyone took a seat, and the guests had the highest positions.

Near the foreigners, Purple Sand sat the closest, and the central branch was close by as well. Others just sat by the status of their power.

Felix sat with his grandparents as his father and mother sat near each other, talking heartily.

He was quite an exception among everyone, as no other kids were allowed inside the hall.

Soon the servants served delicious food and lovely wine. Whatever requests anybody had were fulfilled with efficiency and grandeur.

Felix ate while listening to conversations and enjoyed this very much.

"I thought this would be very strenuous as some problem occur, now it's so calm its amazing!" Felix sighed at the unity of this Clan.

However, it seemed his thoughts jinxed everything as soon everything took an extreme turnaround.

The central branch was seated near the Purple Sand branch. It appeared their patriarch was an old guy, and he was calmly speaking with Abbadon.

Unfortunately, that older manufactured a mistake to assume he was considered a leader who put the Purple Sand branch on this continent, leading them to complete the mission.

"It seems you believe that you have accomplished this mission, not our Purple Sand branch, Tyro?" Abbadons voice was too loud. Therefore, everyone looked at the commotion.

This uncomfortable silence made Felix feel shivers on his back.

This so-called Tyro was an older man, and now he had a vicious smile.

"Tch, we lead the Boundless Star clansmen for so long, I don't believe the headquarters won't give us even a tiny reward for the completion of the mission!"

Tyro thought he still influenced the rewards even though his branch only wasted years and numerous resources. The rot of having a lot of power and influence eroded the central department much more than Gyro and Abbadon assumed.

Felix looked at the guests as he felt ominous air fill the hall.

Senior Thunder only had a small smile and remained silent as he watched this farce begin.

"Well, I am not saying that my leading branch completed the mission. I am only saying that we contributed as we helped look for the treasure all over this Boundless Star."

"Well, this is true, and haven't you received anything in return from the clan for your "hard work"? " Abbadon enunciated the words hard work and continued in a calm voice.

"Well, we are not ungrateful for clan support. However, we do trust that our contributions will not be neglected!"

Tyro said in a convincing voice. He was bent on getting at least something from this situation.

"How can this Purple Sand branch be better than us?! I can't stand their contemptuous looks!" Tyro hated Abbadon, who just calmly smiled and remained silent now.

"Tyro, was it?" Soft voice descended on the hall, filling every corner.

General Feng spoke while sipping spring wine.

"Yes, General Feng!" Tyro was happy to see his words have a result so soon, so he turned to look at the central seat with a fawning look on his face.

"The Westgate Clan stayed in this world for precisely 26574 years. For most of this time, our Clan funded your leading branch with seven Titled Gods Inheritances, Twenty million middle-rank spirit crystals, three opportunities to become inner disciple, three times lifespan extension ritual, five cultivation furnaces, and numerous other rewards."

Calm voice recounted everything in a quiet matter.

All branch leaders frowned as they listened to the number of sweet rewards. They have never heard the central branch talk about these funds.

They only talked about their hard work all the time as they exerted their arrogance in central lands.

"Now, over the first thousand and three hundred years, you lead your people to expand all over the Boundless Star, claiming it will be easier to find the treasure if we look everywhere."

General Feng continued his speech without stopping.

"Afterwards, the only achievement you made was to give birth to one child with Principal Constitution."

Everyone listened to the General talk and waited to see what this meant.

"Now, Purple Sand branch received no funds from the Clan for the first seven thousand years, as we only got one report from them! It stated they would follow ancestral teaching and investigate the news about the artifact."

Felix was unsure where this was going. "Are they just gonna talk all day?"

"Exactly ten thousand and eleven years ago they sent back to the Clan a boy with Godbeast Bloodline, three hundred years after that. They found a lead on the mission."

Gyro was sipping wine as he listened with disdain in his heart.

"Thousand years after that, they cultivated their first Titled God, soon others followed. They contributed twenty-seven talented individuals for the Clan to develop in all this time! Four Principle Gods were born right in this Purple Sand branch. They also found and retrieved the legendary Void Compass by themselves."

Everyone was shocked by the power this unremarkable Purple Sand branch had.

"The Clan rewarded them for their previous accomplishments, and the Clan will reward them for the completed mission as well! Therefore, they will receive most of the contribution, as everyone else on this world will get their due respect according to their contributions!"

General Feng looked at Tyro and sighed.

"You disappoint me, Tyro! To demand something from the Clan is a serious offense! You surely know that the family never stops rewarding its members. There is no need to question it as it never happened. Having the gall to ask for more than you deserve is serious blasphemy towards teaching our ancestors established."

Tyro was scared witless by the words of General Feng.

"Please, forgive me for my tardiness, General Feng!" Tyro bowed and waited for the decision of General.

"Today is a joyous occasion, so that I won't make a move personally. But, unfortunately for you, I have Soul and Bloodline Formation on me. You will enter it, and if it shows that you have malice towards any clan member, you will be punished accordingly!"

Felix watched as Tyro trembled in fear and walked straight inside a small circle made from some rope.

He had never heard of this formation before, so it looked like it was just an unremarkable rope circle to him.

Soon everyone watched as the formation showed inner thoughts of Tyro.

They watched his hateful face as he looked at Abbadon.

What was the most creepy when they saw that Tyro was looking with killing intent towards Felix as the formation showed his inner thoughts without stopping!

"Preposterous! Killing intent towards a child?!" General Feng looked at the formation and waved his hand.

Soon everyone saw the hologram materialize, and even Sound was added, showing the exact memory of Tyro's thought.

"Where did this Purple Sand branch appear from?! So they were doing nothing all this time now they accomplished the mission?"

Everyone saw an embarrassing memory of Tyro. However, they soon heard truly horrifying phrases.

"This decree is probably connected with Purple Sand branch. Therefore, I must investigate it..."

Everyone watched as this leading branch patriarch found out about Felix and his baptism.

Tyro threw everything in rage in his office.

"Unforgivable!! How can there be such a thing?! I treated these bastards with a good heart, and they don't even tell me about such a talent? It should belong to my branch, to MEE!!!"

Tyro was screaming in delusion, and everyone saw how he wanted to contribute for himself.

"Damn, I have to think of a way to take this reincarnation inside the central continent. If I send him to headquarters, everything will belong to me!"

General Feng watched as Tyro planned to contact Felix and send him to the central continent and headquarters.

However, they saw Tyro couldn't contact Felix, as the kid cultivated inside his branch without ever leaving.

"We cant abduct him, and we can't kill him?! WHAT CAN WE DO THEN, JUST WATCH AS THEY RECEIVE THIS CONTRIBUTION???" Tyro screamed to some people he was colluding.

"What the hell? I never even met this old fart. So now he wants to kidnap me and do as he commands?" Felix was horrified by what he saw.

Soon the image changed, and they saw how Tyro gave up on this but still wanted to kill Felix.

"Now this is disgusting, to want to harm a child for profit?!" General Feng stood up and raised his voice for the first time.

"As a ranked General and a God-King, I sentence you to death in body and soul! Our Clan needs no scum like you !"

Felix watched as General Feng smacked his palm down, and tremendous pressure exploded Tyro into tiny particles.

"My God, I should never anger these monsters!" Felix watched in horror as Tyro vanished. However, he was satisfied with this punishment as he didn't want this old man creeping around, thinking of how to abuse him.

"Now, let's get on with the official business so that I can enjoy the wine in peace!"

Felix gulped as he saw General Feng say and turn to look at him with a very vicious glint.
