"I assume you are the reincarnation everyone is talking about?" General Fend looked at Felix impatiently.
"Ye-Yes, Sir!" Felix almost stuttered as he watched the man play with a knife as if it was made from rubber.
"Good, we will be staying on this Star for precisely one year. This period is how long the West-Gate Portal will need to charge for us to get back to Ximen Star. During this time, we will travel around this Boundless Star and train some of the youths who look promising."
General Feng stated his intention.
"I'm looking forward to your performance."
Felix just respectfully reassured the general and sat down.
"Next, all the branches will gather youths up to the age of 7, and we will examine if they got some talent. This event will happen ten months from now. We will take back promising ones."
General Feng issued order after order while greedily looking at his wine cup.
"And lastly, I want to see reports of all opportunities on this Boundless Star by tomorrow. Now, everyone, let's have a nice party!"
General Feng smiled and sat down to drink wine while some servants cleaned up a pile of dust, formerly known as Tyro.
Everyone inside the hall resumed their festivities, ignoring the previous evaporation of Tyro.
Felix just sat while waiting to escape from this hall as soon as possible.
"I feel like this is the danger they were talking about when they said outside is a cruel place! WHAT ABOUT THE INSIDE?!! IT IS CREEPILY DANGEROUS HERE AS WELL??!"
Felix was very vexed inside his mind.
After the ball ended, Felix rushed into his courtyard and recounted his ventures.
"Well, I have only a little understanding of this world, for now."
Felix was sure that this overprotective way of keeping children in the house was a way for the Westgate Clan to foolproof their safety.
"Still, I am kind of glad that I was safe and easygoing all these years. I don't want to die for no reason, nor killed for looking the wrong way!"
Felix was sure this survival of the fittest came from excessive power levels cultivation let achieve.
"For now, I can only use some energy in my mind. I have no real way to protect myself! Those spells I learned are like decorations, full of flashy effects, but no substantial damage or defense!"
Felix knew now that his talent was passable. However, he understood that Clan was first taking care of business in this Purple Sand Sub-Continent.
However, this branch was ready to return to their home Star and cultivate to become valuable assets to this humongous authority.
"I must stay low-profile! This reincarnation label is annoying, but I think everyone will forget it eventually. Now I must keep calm and not offend someone like General Feng!"
Tyro's fast demise was still a clear image in Felix's mind. That moment was a revelation that he was not on Earth anymore. Felix knew that death was as easy as blinking, one wrong move, and goodbye magical world!
"Alrighty then, I will try to find a way to finish my Mind Palace as fast as possible. I already found some clues about fire law. So now I only need to deduce everything from that point!"
Felix comprehended the mysteries of fire the most among his runes.
He already had the feeling of receiving more information from fire energy. Thus, he was sure he was close to finding out the truth about fire law.
Even with low-quality information in this branch's library, he learned that the second-star mage had to comprehend the corresponding runes of his magic.
The Law Magic was a fancy name for runes evolution to innate spells.
According to some records, Felix read that an innate spell formation could preset and store a complicated magic matrix.
This matrix could store such spells for fire law as burst, burn, explosion, and much more. But, of course, the same effect happened with other elements as well.
Felix even found that elemental magic had matrixes, but even more mysterious magic runes like summoning, materialization, and even destiny reading!
He looked forward to learning real powerful magical abilities as now he could only burn some trees or shatter some walls.
At first, he was excited with his abilities, but now they looked dull and useless, as everyone in this Clan seems strong beyond belief.
Days passed, and soon Felix got a summon from General Feng.
"So it begins!" Felix wore an expensive protective attire as he was ready for the journey around the Boundless Star!
General Feng, Senior Thunder ( His great-great-great-grandfather ), and other guests waited in the main hall together with Gyro, Abbadon, and other experts.
Felix deemed some other youths as possible talents as they will travel together.
"Everyone is here! Let's head out. I will explain everything on the road!"
General Feng leads everyone away from Dragon-Kite City, towards the Northern Mountain Range of Purple Sand Sub-Continent.
Felix had the chance to go through maps of important places of this Star and knew that Purple Sand Sub-Continent was a famous destination for cultivators to train.
Even though it was a bit too small to be considered a continent, it had the features of a high-level training place.
The Northwest part of the Sub-Continent was called Northern Mountains, and it was a free land as ferocious beasts of land occupied it and were regularly attacked by the sea beasts from the bottomless gulf of Shadow Sea.
Low-level warriors would die soon if they went too deep in this mountain range.
"Everyone listen as I won't repeat myself! The experts above the third stage will protect the kids from monsters above their powers. For example, if you are in the first stage, we will help you fight second-stage beasts. However, if you can't kill beasts with the same cultivation as you, well, then die!"
Felix was shocked by this arrangement. He didn't even have any battle experience!
"Am I going to die like a turd?! I know some spells, but heck! They aren't even strong against most warriors! So what am I going to do now!?"
Felix was a bit panicked. However, his weird calmness soon returned, and this composure didn't manage to evade General Feng's eyes.
"You will have a chance to train before we go deep into beast's territory! Don't be shy to ask, as there are many stupid questions. However, remember that you can also have stupid deaths! It is better to make us laugh than mourn as you die like an idiot! We will only train you for three days, so make it worth it!"
General Feng explained as the view of the city was left far behind them, and the mountains were towering ominously in front of them!
"I need to remember fathers tricks!" Felix thought as he remembered his mom and dad teaching him how to survive in the extreme wilderness.
"Felix, remember! In the wild, you must be not only careful of the surroundings, terrain, and beasts, but also poisonous plants, traps, and most importantly, other cultivators!"
Felix remembered Silvers teachings as he tried to prepare for this training mentally.
"Child, also remember that a human's heart is the biggest mystery. Nobody knows for sure what others hold in their heart! Greed, envy, and even love can make others do terrible things, so be on guard against even your family members when you are outside of the territory where the laws of ancestors protect you!"
Silver tried to give the best advice to Felix, and only now does he have the chance to use it in real life.
"I can do this, be careful, and survive!" Felix pumped up and composed himself.
Soon they reached the mountainside and erected tents for the evening.
"Okay! We will spend the night here, and your training begins right now!" General Feng shouted and entered his tent.
Felix watched as all other kids and teens stood with confusion-ridden faces.
"Let's not question that man, Felix! If he said training began, it means I am in danger. I should make preparations first!"
Felix quickly placed his tent and entered to prepare for the night!
He learned a lot from his parents, granny, and Lyrius, so now he was doing everything to make sure he survived.
Felix took his bag, took off his clothes, and placed all his belongings in front.
"Granny said this powder makes all smell and aura disappear for a whole week, and only water can wash it off!" So Felix poured some yellow powder on everything and his own body.
"Now I need to count all my elixirs!"
Felix had a few bandages, healing potions, pure energy potions, and mental energy potions!
"So I can get hurt seriously only three times!" Felix counted his regeneration elixirs and looked at the bottle of starry liquid.
"This is a mental energy restoration milk! Granny Ofelia said it was a treasure for anyone below the fourth stage!"
Felix carefully placed this starry liquid inside his bag, as he recalled that it could fully restore his magic and mental energy and even shortly boost his power!
He deemed this potion a lifesaving treasure for now!
Felix learned from Lyrius that the Clan forbade the elders to give kids a lot of treasures. It was unnecessary, and everyone needed their efforts to become experts.
Only merit could buy treasures, information, and skills. Everything else was a detriment to the cultivator's willpower!
"Potions are ready. I am left only with weapons!" Felix looked at a small glass orb and a piece of metal pipe.
He was already wearing his mental energy ring, scarf, and other gifts he had received during the years. But, unfortunately, they were not precisely handy on the battlefield.
"This is a spell mirror orb I found in the garden and star metal rod that is a good energy conductor! I already tried the orb, and it really is effective for doubling the spells, and this rod makes my spellcasting speed twice as fast!"
Felix put the orb inside his pocket and tied the rod on his equipment belt.
He also had a dagger, an expanding shovel, and even a sleeping bag! Felix carefully counted his rations and looked at how much water he had.
"The only thing left is this thing!" Felix looked at a small pouch filled with dusty powder.
Felix managed to refine this himself, so the experts allowed him to take it on this journey!
It was a few portions of severe cold poison he accidentally refined while inside his granny's alchemy room!
Felix already tried one portion with testing beasts, and it was highly effective, as the warrior-level beast was frozen solid with this powder!
"Now that I'm ready, I should look around to see the terrain!" Felix recalled his dad's advice and stepped outside with a new protective set of clothes.
Granny made his uniform from dark and mellow colors that effectively camouflaged him in this wilderness.
Now everyone looked at him as he looked very charming small kid.
Felix cutely walked around the tents and tried to memorize the terrain as quickly as possible.
There was a path towards the mountains and a forest towards the east. Felix also noticed a small hill nearby.
"Hmm, it seems there are a lot of cliffs on these mountains, but the snow is a bit deeper!" Felix watched everything with an experienced observer's look.
"I can also hear a lot of howls and screams from this eastern forest." Felix frowned as his enhanced mental energy helped pick up ferocious sounds from the forest.
"It seems the experts are waiting for questions." So Felix deduced as he saw a big bonfire and older people sitting around it with a small square left for the trainees.
He was the first to arrive near the fire and sat down in a lotus position near General Feng and Abbadon.
Other kids and teens noticed the bonfire, and the gathering began.
Felix soon saw his fatty friend Marcus. And they both exchanged happy looks.
"It seems this fatty is not so simple!" Felix remembered the childish pact the two exchanged during the shuffle event.
"Hi Felix, I knew you would be here!" Marcus laughed and sat down together with Felix.
Abbadon watched with a smile as he was pretty surprised by his grandson having a friend so soon.
Marcus was still the same talkative fatty, so Felix was not bored while waiting.
"Did you know that only twenty youths were chosen to go for this journey?" Marcus proudly said to Felix.
"No, do you know what is special about the others?" Felix politely asked about other trainees.
"Of course, I know! There are many here who have Ximen bloodlines. Even though they are very diluted, they are still critical!" Marcus began explaining.
Felix was a bit shocked to hear this, as he learned from his granny that Ximen's bloodline was their ancestor's bloodline!
He heard that this bloodline was an ancient one!
Ximen Bloodline was said to have passive restoration, body evolution, and many more advantages. Moreover, the more concentrated the bloodline, the more valuable it was for anyone who possessed it!
It was a common saying that there was no end to the potential for ancient bloodlines.
"Should I know about any individuals, Marcus?" Felix went straight to the point.
"Yes, Felix, there are four people you should remember! The first one is that teen with a long face!" Marcus pointed at the older eleven-year-looking, long-faced kid.
"He is Wang and has the most concentrated Ximen Bloodline! I heard he already had his first evolution of body!" Marcus said with an excited voice.
"There are also those twins!" Marcus pointed at two boys.
"They have United Mind Constitution! I heard someone say that they have powerful potential later in life! People say that this constitution would let them communicate from vast distances. The higher their cultivation, the better the distance!" Marcus said with an interested smile.
"And lastly, it is this hateful wench!" Marcus pointed at a cute-looking four to a five-year-old girl with two ponytails.
"Who is she?" Felix asked as he saw the girl for the first time.
"She is Amelia! She has the Seven Secrets Eyes! She can see through people and sometimes even the future! You can't hide your inner thoughts from her! She already made a laughing stock from me for thinking about food all the time! She is the worst!"
Felix was shocked to hear Marcus pout so miserably.
"Well, now he is acting like a child!" Felix laughed inside his mind as he looked at the sulking fatty.
"What is this Seven Secrets Eyes you are talking about?" Felix asked with great interest.
"Dude, you need to go out of your room more! I believe you heard of bodily constitutions, bloodlines, and even different attunements as common talents in this world?"
Marcus asked as he watched Felix nod.
"Well, there are many more talents. however, they are rarer or even extinct now!"
Felix saw that Marcus was very proud of his knowledge, so he looked amazed.
"There are a lot of weird mutations and body evolutions out there, and these Seven Secrets Eyes are one of them! Everyone says that the Seven Secret Eyes can help their masters see life, present, past, future, energy, heart, and destiny! They help more and more the higher stage you reach, so she is pretty much the princess of Purple Sand branch, and if not for a freak of reincarnation like you, she would be the most talented this generation!"
Felix was surprised to hear such an overpowered talent!
He was looking at this girl, and she looked back at this moment.
Felix felt like some beast was looking at him, and coldness washed through his body.
This cold wave tried to enter his mind-space. However, he watched as his magic runes revolved in a fury and sent mental energy after this energy!
"What the hell!?" Felix couldn't control this sudden outburst, and soon this furious mental wave rushed through the cold wave straight towards the little girl!
General Feng and others noticed this energy fluctuation and watched as this little girl was struck and bleeding from all orifices.
Marcus watched with mouth wide open. He didn't understand what happened just now, as he only felt cold, and soon Felix released a boundless aura.
Amelia kneeled on the ground, and soon General Feng appeared near her.
He waved his hand expelled foreign mental energy from the girl's body, and ordered other experts to heal her.
Amelia soon regained consciousness and looked at General Feng with fearful eyes.
"Little girl, you are talented. However, you are too weak to spy on everything in this world! So be careful next time, and you will be fine!"
"Felix, it seems your Mind Palace is close to law energy! Don't be aghast! You couldn't control law energy yet. It was this small amount of law rules that backlashed spying from this little girl, so it's not your fault!"
General Feng returned to his seat and explained what had happened to everyone.
"This can be your first lesson, trainees! Never spy on a mage! The mages have the highest mental ability from all the schools of power! The second closest is almost extinct, Fairy Race! Each mental energy cultivator has powerful defenses against those who try to enter their Mind-Space."
General Feng said and sipped some wine.
"Elder Xi, you are the most knowledgable. Please explain this to the kids!" General just ordered elder Xi, who still had a plain look.
"Listen, kids! I am also a history professor of Ximen Academy, and I expect that at least a few of you will become my students in the future!"
Felix heard about Ximen Academy for the first time and looked at elder Xi with great interest.
"As you all heard General explain, you should avoid spying on mental energy cultivators, and spying on a mage is a taboo in this universe! However, you will learn later that all mages above the second Star can use spiritual and mental energy fusion always to surround their bodies to feel probing of foreign entities!"
Everyone listened with great interest to elder Xi.
"Now what happened with Amelia and Felix is called mental backlash! Felix has some law energy, and this girl has none, so she was attacked by the boy's power with furious rage! You will learn that laws have feelings, and they can even become dormant or excited, so you should avoid angering them!"
Elder Xi said and looked at interested kids.
"Now, there are some beasts who have tremendous mental powers as well, so be careful, if you don't recognize the beast, do not use probing at any cost, as it can be the last thing you do! The same goes for seeing stars indicating that the cultivator is a mage! Again, do not probe them under any circumstances, as it will alert them!"
Felix was a bit upset hearing the elder explain how to avoid mages perception.
"Especially later in life, if you reach stage four, remember that a four-star mage is one step higher than you! If you alert them with probing, you will die a terrible death. That is all for now. If you have questions, ask away during this meal!"
Elder Xi commanded, and many kids asked various questions about mages and cultivators. Still, soon Amelia asked the best question, and elder Xi, General Feng, and everyone else looked with exciting looks.
"Elders, you said that a mage is from a different school of power and uses mental energy to wield magical power. What other schools of control are there?" Amelia asked with a quivering voice and shyly turned her head.
"Victoria, it seems you are the best suited to answer this!" Elder Xi said with a smile.
Felix watched as this woman dressed in a red gown and golden chain around her neck stood up.
"Good evening, children. I am the red saintess of the Ximen Star! As you can see from my attire, I am very different from others, and I do not cultivate!"
Children were all surprised by the woman's statement.
"I am the saintess, one of a hundred, who are believers of the Red God Titan. Our religion gives us the power to fight, and our God is our cultivation. Thus you could say that we belong to belief school of power!"
Victoria smiled and raised her hands, saying some weird prayer Felix couldn't understand.
Soon the sound and light vanished, and they saw how everything they could feel melted into crimson red color.
"I can't even feel my body. Even my mind-space is full of red!" Felix was scared of this weird redness.
Soon Victoria dispelled the prayer, and everyone took a deep breath.
"This is what I call the Gods Effect. We believers give our everything to God, and he responds only to us!"
Felix was disgusted with Victoria's maniacal expression. "It seems that religion is still brainwashing!" He instantly judged religion as a bad thing.
"Get on with it, Victoria. We don't have a whole night for this!" General Fang ordered the woman and took another sip.
Felix noticed how unhappy Victoria was with her dismissal, but she still explained.
"Yes, General Feng! I belong to the school of religion! Felix is talented as a mage, and they have their school, so he belongs to the magic school! There are also Buddhist, Demonic, Body, Sword, and many other schools. For now, you only need to know that you all belong to Body cultivation school! The only exceptions are Felix and Elder Xi, Elder Sound, and Me. As you can see, the Body Cultivators are the most common. Any other questions?"
Felix spent all evening listening to a lot of information, and soon nighttime came, and everyone went to sleep.
