Chereads / Way to your heart (Girlslove) / Chapter 4 - chapter 4

Chapter 4 - chapter 4

My body was shaking and my legs and arms hurt. I

tried to open my eyes, but I could not.

Since I couldn't see anything, I tried to hear something.

Nothing, it was pure silence, my right ankle was clutched by something cold, and it squeezed it tightly.

My hands were also clasped by something cold.

I suspected that they were iron shackles.

And no matter what I tried, my body would not move.

I lay there motionless for quite a while until I heard rapid footsteps coming straight at me. A door creaked, and the footsteps came closer until they stopped in front of my head. A warm hand rested on my forehead, and I could hear a soft snort.

"I thought the girl had died."

Said a boy's voice.

"Did you think I had crushed her? Of course, she's still alive. It's just a little cold in here for a human. So relax, Ryan!"

Said a very nice girl's voice.

The person standing right in front of me sighed and stood up.

"Why did you bring her here anyway? Couldn't you have just left her in the woods?"

"And what if she had told the other people about me?!"

They probably wouldn't have believed me at all.

"How would she know you were a dragon?"

I could already see the girl looking apologetically to the side.

"Did she see your dragon form?!"

Said the boy a bit shocked.

"Ehm, yes, but now she's here she can't tell anyone anything."

"Now she's here, and she can't tell anyone anything?! Now she's here, and you have to take care of her, and on top of that, you have to get the information for Queen Saphira. You're a spy for Vera."

I didn't understand a word of what they were saying.

Who is Queen Saphira, and what is Vera?

I wanted to continue eavesdropping on the conversation, but the door opened again, and the two people stepped out of the room.

With a loud bang, the door closed again, and silence returned.

After a while, I tried to open my eyes again and move.

Despite the fact that it was so cold, I had warmed up a bit and could at least open my eyes.

The room I was lying in looked like the old torture chambers we visited in school, and yes, we did go on a school trip to see torture chambers.

The small room was lit by a gas lamp, which brightly illuminated all corners of the room, and I was very glad that I could not discover any torture tools in the room.

Slowly, I exhaled and tried to move.

With great effort, I managed it and sat up.

My wrists and ankles were wrapped in iron shackles, and these were fastened to the wall with chains.

The walls were also overgrown with moss, and it smelled like a forest.

I liked the smell of the forest.

It reminded me of the time when I was a little child and always played in the forest.

My mom didn't really want me to do that, but she let me anyway because that was the only kind of freedom I had back then.

I can still remember how I went really deep into the forest at that time.

The sun only irradiated a few places because the treetops were very dense.

I found a small stream and even saw a deer. The deer looked at me briefly, drank from the stream, and then jumped over it to my side. Instead of running away from me, it came closer and closer to me, nudging me with its nose.

This memory made me smile.

Slowly, my eyes closed again, and I fell asleep once more.
