Lisa indicated to me that I should wait a short time, when she disappeared between the trees.
A short time later she came back to me in her human form and with new clothes.
"Come, I'll help you walk."
She supported me and we walked carefully into the cave.
I wondered why she had changed back, the cave was big enough for her, so she could have gone into the cave in her dragon form and carried me on her back.
That probably would have been a lot easier, oh well.
At first it was super dark and I couldn't see anything, luckily Lisa guided me through the darkness so I didn't run into the walls.
Until I could see a slight blue glow on the walls every now and then, coming from little crystals that shone bigger and brighter the deeper we went into the cave, until I could see the path in front of me pretty well.
We walked for a while longer.
Until I just couldn't take the silence anymore and finally asked my questions.
"Who were those people from the village? And why was I there?"
Lisa kept her gaze forward as she answered me.
"I'm not sure if I should tell you, even though you said you'd help us."
Lisa was apparently very suspicious of me, which of course I could understand.
But she could also be a little nicer and at least try to build up a conversation with me.
In the end, however, nothing more came of it. We finally arrived after a short time in a cave, and WOW!!!
It just looked so beautiful.
The whole cave was soaked in a light blue, and just huge.
I think it was even bigger than three Olympic stadiums together.
From the ceiling, as well as from the floor, there were many pointed stones, in which there were also blue crystals, from which the light came.
In the center was a huge lake filled with crystal clear water and you could see almost everything under the water surface.
The walls of the cave shimmered damp and a little further back you could see more tunnels connected to the Moon Lake cave.
I suspected that they were either further entrances or that they led to other caves. There was also no one to see, until something moved in the lake.
Something big.
And it came closer and closer!
Lisa stood close to me and was ready to transform at all times.
But when the long and tall figure jumped out of the water into the air, she relaxed again. "That's just Skyler."
She said, turning to me.
With tremendous and magnificent wing beats, Skyler landed right in front of me and Lisa. "Hello Lisa!" he bowed politely to her.
"How are you, I haven't seen you in the Moon Lake Cave in a really long time!"
Lisa walked closer to Skyler.
"You know me and Ryan were looking for information for Queen Saphira. Where is Mineva?"
I wondered why Lisa was so cold to everyone, surely she wasn't always like this.
Skyler pointed with his big dragon nose to one of the tunnels, which was connected to another small cave.
"She is in the herb cave, one of the dragon mothers is highly pregnant. Mineva has also decided to move her nest to the herb cave." Lisa nodded simply and walked towards the tunnel Skyler had pointed to.
I followed her automatically and wrinkled my nose when I smelled the strong scent of herbs.
As we rounded the corner, what Skyler had called the Herb Cave bared itself.
In it were many moss nests, which were probably for the sick dragons.
In the walls were three large slits that were used as storage for several herbs I figured.
In the center was a small hollow filled with some water dripping from a small hole in the ceiling.
In the darkest corner of the cave was a triangular passageway, which Lisa walked straight towards.
I ignored the dragon with a very large belly and beige scales, that had to be the pregnant mother.
Through the passageway was also another small cave, but this time so small that only a single nest fit in.
"So you finally decided to move your nest here, weren't you going to do that a very long time ago because you couldn't sleep because of the young dragons?" spoke Lisa into the darkness.
I could barely make out anything, only that something big was moving in the dark.
"Yes, I wanted to and I did! I see you brought a guest, Lisa."
Lisa looked at me for just a moment, probably to see if I was scared, and my big eyes betrayed me.
"Yes I did. So would you be so kind and come out to the Moon Lake, you should explain some things to her that I can't explain."
The dragon, or rather Mineva let down a warm cloud of breath on us, which to me was to tell that Lisa should go ahead.
So we did, we went out of the small cave, through the herb cave where the pregnant dragon was still sleeping and out into the moon lake cave.
On the short walk, I hadn't even turned around to see what dragon was chasing us.
But when I turned around, once again my eyes almost fell out of my head.
Mineva was a not really big dragon, maybe even a few meters smaller than Lisa, with beautiful purple shimmering scales.
Two sinuous horns protruded from her head, and she also looked at me curiously with her fire-colored eyes.
I could just see that the underside of her belly, as well as her wings shimmered in a lavender blue.
She was just a very beautiful dragon.
"So little human, what is your name?"
Her voice was softly plaintive and I answered her still full of wonder.
"My name is Kayla."
