Chapter 8 - chapter 7

Ryan and Lisa also seemed to wonder where everyone was, but they didn't pay any attention to me. I wonder if they will lock me up again. Of course I didn't want that, so I tried to sneak away while they were still distracted. I made it into the forest, but just as I was about to start running, Lisa suddenly stood in front of me. I ran into her with full force, knocking us both to the ground. I didn't realize it until I saw that I was lying on top of Lisa. Heat shot up my face and I blushed. "Um, sorry, are you okay?" I asked uncertainly, trying to sit up, but a sharp pain in my right ankle stopped me. "Yeah, I just hit the ground with a 50kg person on top of me, but other than that I'm fine. Looks like you hurt yourself more than I hurt myself, though, in that oh-so-terrible fall!" She grinned at me. Yes, Lisa was just bubbling with sarcasm, but her grin was really cute. Stop!!!! What am I thinking!!! I quickly shook my head, causing Lisa to look at me a little confused. She pulled herself out from under me and stood up.    "Can you stand up?" With a jerk I was up "Of course I can get up!" . My ankle hurt, but I just shifted most of my weight to the other. "And walk?" Now I looked at Lisa uncertainly for a moment. She turned and started walking, at a slow pace so I wouldn't have to hurry. But when I tried to walk, I immediately fell on my nose. Nope, I couldn't walk after all. Lisa turned around and looked down at me. She sighed and came back to me. "So you can't walk after all?" I looked up at her. "Do I look like I can? Now help me up."  She knelt down to me and helped me up. With Lisa's help, I managed to limp back to the village where Ryan was waiting. "And why exactly did you run away now?" Ryan asked me. I looked to the side, my face was still red. "I didn't want you to lock me up again, and that's why I tried to run away." I briefly glanced at the faces of the two dragons and, they both just had to hold back the laughter so hard. "Hey, what's so funny!!! That's not funny at all!" now it bursted out of them, and a glorious laughter filled the silence. "Oh, sorry, but your look on your face just looked too funny!!!" They both continued laughing. "That's what Viola would've said." I winced, had I just said my thoughts out loud? Great, that's even more embarrassing, but the two dragons had fallen silent and were just staring at me in disbelief. "Who do you mean by Viola?" Lisa shivered slightly, but why? "My best friend since I was in elementary school." Ryan also looked a little shocked. "What does your best friend look like?" Confusion spread through me, yet I answered. "Tall, beautiful half-long hair I guess, emerald green eyes, and a few freckles." "Shit!" I cringed when Ryan said it just like that. "W-what do you mean?" my voice sounded really weird when I asked that. "You have no idea who your best friend really is, do you?" Uncertainly, I shook my head. I've known Viola for years, but what does Ryan mean by that? He took a deep breath until he started a new sentence and said. "Your so-called best friend is one of the greatest heroes of Inular, the territory where we are right now, and she's also one of Vera's greatest enemies. Kayla, your best friend is a dragon warrior!"
