The air was taken from his lungs in seconds, as was the leftover shine surrounding his cheeks, everything he once had been, was striped away from him in only a few seconds. His blood boiled and burned under his skin, as he felt his eyes burn the same, then relax, returning to normal, as for a moment he wondered what about him had changed. His physical structure remained the same, but his orra The orra he had circling him, the orra that was his magical power, gleamed and shined under the darkness of the midnight, clouded, sky, underneath him, as his shade of orange flames, turned black in seconds. Studying the leftover bits of baby flames along his palm, he sighed, shuting his eyes slowly as his palm turned into a tight fist. He was angry with himself, but as he rose from where he sat, from his knees, to standing, where the surface of black grass, and clouded smoke surrounded his vision, he rose to a stand. Glaring and taking in the sights for what they were, he let out another defeated sigh. The air he breathed felt tight around his lungs, as a leftover toxic aftertaste proceeded to dance along the tip of his tongue. It was sweet at first, but grew rotten the more his chest rose, allowing the air to poison him from the inside out.
His first thought from earlier, coming off less than false, burying into the back of his mind. The air was survivivaale, but toxic the more he breathed. He could survive, but his physical body, mind, and spirt were going to be tested. Tested in the realm of circles, circles who had but one task, turn him into a dark, hated, creature. A demon to be more exact. As he walked a few steps in front of him, he felt the distant breeze of the freezing cold wind, as it blew through the small piece of clothing he had placed over his entire body. He sighed as he fought to keep it down. Fighting with himself for unleashing his full form, that burned all his clothing. If anyone would dare find him now, how embarrassing it'd be for him. He blushed as he thought about the problem, but was able to get over it, as he got another thought.
He wasn't sure at first how he'd do if he tried again, but ignoring his doubt for the second time all around, he decided to go for it. In seconds, his body was burning with flames roaring and going up and down his face. Up and down like water, rising up and down in the veins. Again, he threw himself into his full form. As to be careful not to damage the piece of clothing he'd received from Aaron, he quickly threw it off from his body, proceeding to make sure his flames kept to a low in order to keep the fabric from catching the flames instantly, holding the soft piece of fabric close to his body, the scent of the sweet after smell, belonging to Aaron, sweetly danced along his nostrils, as he thought about Aaron being left behind to fight Alice. The fear only lasted a single second, before his eyes found a dark, run down looking castle, looking at him from the distance.
The castle was large. Large and dark. Covered with so many shadows and darkness, Edward found himself remissing the sight of the beautiful sunshine he'd seen so many times back on Nation Valley. The sun, must've been burned out on Demon Nation? That would explain why the land was surrounded in so much blackness, no light could even think to survive. He figured that was the reason behind none of the planets being able to grow, for the sun wasn't there. Demon Nation was nothing less than a dead planet. A dead land, filled with so many dead, dark, souls, Edward found himself saddened as he walked along the rocky path underneath his feet. He was thankful for the coursing flames running up under his feet, for he didn't need to worry about the pain of stepping on some of the large rocks, for his flames kept him protected. Plus being skilled with his flames that given him some avantages. One, his unleashed form could last as long as he wanted, as long as he remained away from any moist areas. Water and flames? Not a very valued match.
Dark rocks, and smoke greeted him as he continued on his way. He figured getting to the castle would at least cost him a two days walk, and as tired as he was, he knew he had no reason to stop himself now. As long as he kept his flames up, he wouldn't be surrounded by the darkness. He could keep the surrounding toxings away from him, be able to save himself from the awful, terrible, pain of becoming a demon. Demon Nation was sick like that. Make the air filled with so many toxins, a few high breaths of it, would have you overrun with black veins, then sharp teeth, proceeding with demon horns and wings, the striping of your orginal power would be the last and finale part of the changing. You'd have become a demon. Unable to survive on your planet from before. Your original home would have no place to stand in your heart anymore. You'd be unable to survive anywhere else, unless you were able to somehow be in possession of magic. A certain magic spell that would act as a demon concealing agent. Most likely, Ren and Bright had gathered all they could before being banished. How else could they have called Earth there home.
The demons banished to Earth were banished there only for one reason. To be killed. Murdered, die in their own cold bloods. Why? Because without the concealing agent, no demon would survive being anywhere else beside the place in which they'd been created. Or in this case, brought to demon nation after receiving demon lungs, as Barron had. Either way, the demon lungs could only do so much for Barron transformation. Simply being given a new pair of lungs sadly couldn't take over the human DNA in his body. A half demon species, Edward would've never figured.
How his father made everything seem earaverseable in his explanation of the two of them. Edward was sure everything was starting to make sense to him now. He and Barron were only half what they were given. Which would explain why he was fed the information that if he gained the power of a cold one. he could be a hybrid, and finally be complete. He was being played right from the very beginning. Even before his true origins had been told to him. How the hatred for his father only increased the more his thoughts became more clear...
''Take that!''
Edward gasped as rapid cold temperatures cooled his body. Smoke from his flames going out flowed into the air, as a kick to his back sent him falling to his knees. The cracking of his knee caps as he landed atop a giant pubble align right in front of his path, as the protection he'd once had from his flames, vanished in seconds. The cool air followed by the toxings flew into his lungs again in minuets, as he wrapped his arms around his chest. Try as best he could to keep himself from catching a cold, as he reached for both ends of the clothing. Proceeding to throw it over his shoulders, as he turned his head, just past his shoulder, afraid to stand.
''I should've known....'' The voice whispered. Seeming to match that belonging to a youthful female. A teen perhaps? Edward could only guess on how soft, and high it sounded. Seeming to only grow more excited the more information she gathered from his body. Edward figured it out in moments. She recognized what he was. Demon Nation was aware of Nation Valley. Which mean't this demon was aware of his abilities. To bad he wasn't going to be able to get the drop on her, not with all the water soaked into his skin. He was angry with himself. How he'd let himself be weakened a second time. It was Alice all over again. Although, he knew Aaron wouldn't be there to save him. Not with the portal having been closed the moment he went through it, alone. He was so screwed.
''Gosh? Last thing I thought I'd see today, a warm one? And a powerful one at that? Tell me, why have you come here? To my home?!'' She hissed.
''What, no formal introduction first? I'm sad at your lack for manners..'' Edward mumbled.
''Quiet it! I asked you a question, I expect it to be answered!'' She hissed, taking one swing at the back of his head.
''Don't need to be so rough with me, I was going to answer you, just wanted you to be nicer about it, is all...'' Edward complained. ''Just because your people are demons, doesn't mean you lack manners.''
''That's exactly what it means?!'' She shouted. ''I'm a demon, and that means I do not need to be nice!! Got it? Now, continue, don't stop till I have all the facts! Who are you? Why have you come here?!'' She repeated, pressing harder in integration.
''My name is Edward. As you saw earlier from my flames, I am a warm one. I've come here to rescue my brother. A demon named Barron. My guess is, my adopted stepfather brought him here so he could be expected in front of his own people. Seeming as though I was supposed to be executed in front of mine..'' Edward whispered. ''The bastard of mine deserved to die..''
''Wow, I'm gathering a lot of anger and tension in your voice. I'm guessing you really don't like your father.. As for your brother? I think you've made a mistake on that factor...'' She whispered.
Edward rose his brow as he sighed. A annoyed expression on his face, as he frowned. ''Why's that?'' He asked.
''Let me just start from the beginning alright? I think if I do, things will be cleared up..''
''Alright?'' Said Edward really slowly. He wasn't sure where the demon was taking things, but as interested as he was, he had no reason to stop her for further questioning, everything was clear....the moment her lips moved to sound out her name, followed by her role.
''I am a half human, half demon. My name is Dvina. Guess you could say I have a really close connection to your friend Barron. I'm his sister..... His once human sister, from the planet Earth. There, we had a human mother. A mother and another slibiling. The youngest he was. Green eyed emerald just like Barron. Always had a sweet spot for candy. Mainly the certain kind Mom kept in her pockets most of the time...I guess you could say the color of the candy ìs remembered every time I stare into your eyes, Edward..." Her voice got really soft as she seemed to be growing closer to finishing her speech. So far, Edward tried to keep from protestesting to some of her statements, neither one of them kept him away from forming more questions in his head.
"Barron and I, along with the youngest child, our brother, were taken from Earth. I still remember the shine of the blue light of the portal, how foolish I was for letting those strange men take my brothers. I had to follow, I couldn't lose Barron... and I couldn't lose you too,
Kal....."
"Why are you addressing me as Kal?! How do you even know that name?" Edward questioned, his face left puzzled and his mind overflowing with even more mysteries.
"You were the youngest, the youngest child.....Just cause you've grown, and got a name change, doesn't mean I don't recognize you. You may not have those same emerald eyes, but your eye shape isn't far from what it used to be. Deep down those emerald green eyes are still there. Connecting you to us, the demons who were once mortals. Your mortal family..."
"I don't understand, keep explaining!" He hissed angrily.
"To my surprise you weren't brought here with the two of us, when we were taken, you were brought to Nation Valley, I learned about that later....after the fog and smoke cleared from my memory. We all went through some sort of operation that changed something in our human bodies, that allowed us to breathe....the poisonous air....we were separated from each other..... still I got to be with L, or Barron, the name he was renamed. I knew there was still a chance i could get to Barron, make him remember me. Feed him memories we shared, try and get him to remember me, try to get him to remember as much as he could, from his memories he had of me from his time as a tiny, middle, baby. To my shock though, he was instantly taken in to live with a demon family. A cute couple, and their two sons. I had no time to tell him who i was, and the odd change I saw him I was devoted to keeping my distance. The villages we lived in were already a terrible place to be, as much as I hated holding back, I knew I shouldn't draw any attention. no need to make the streets worse....I guess now that you know everything... I was wondering if you'd grant me your permission for something?" She softly asked.
"What is it?"
"I figure I deserve the privilege to call you brother again, just like I used too. I mean, if you could accept me back as your sister?" She questioned, her soft face replacing the frown she once had to a youthful smile. "Even though our relationship is so different..."
