The past three weeks consisted of friends and family coming over and congratulating them. In between visitors Calley and Xai had had their first ultrasound of the baby of course it was two tiny to tell the gender yet. They were at awe when looking at the tiny alien like ultrasound for the very first time. After the ultrasound Xai was waiting on her hand and foot pampering her when he was not working. He was overly excited and wouldn't stop talking about the baby rather it was shopping or planning baby room. When he was at work Bradley or her mother would come over and spend the day with her doing most of anything and everything for her. She was starting to feel helpless nobody would let her so anything. Staring at the baby magazine she thought about the future and honestly it still terrified Calley. In her mind they were not ready to become parents…..but looking at the ultrasound she knew she loved this baby more than life itself. Calley didn't care what the gender was although Xai hoped deep down it would be a boy. "Hey Cal there is still an hour before Xai gets here do you want to lay down and rest?" Bradley suggested. "No im sick of doing nothing I want to cook supper." Calley exclaimed. "That's not a good idea Cal…. the dr said you were high risk. You have to take it easy. It's almost time to take blood thinner." Calley was sick of doing nothing. Ever since her drs visit they had found she had a protein s suffiency and was pretty told not to do much of anything. "Bradley I'm going to cook I'm not handicap" she said. Calley walked into the kitchen grabbing bakeware to start cooking. By this time Barb was flipping out. "Miss you need to go sit down ill do the cooking" Barb pleaded with her but of course Calley is known for her stubbornness. Calley started to cook she decided to cook a chicken pot pie casserole using biscuits instead of pie crust. She started boiling chicken and she noticed both Bradley and Barb we're making phone calls. Probably tattling on me Calley shook her head displeased. "Who's side are you on you two?" She questioned them. Within 15 minutes Xai and her mother were walking angrily in the room with her dad following them. Calley rolled her eyes seeing Xai was coming closer to her. "Don't you dare" she cried out but it was to late he had carefully scooped her up and carrying her like she was a baby. Calling after them she heard Barb yell. "Don't worry I'll finish cooking supper…. And I'll use pie crust". Calley looked back at her "noooooo I want biscuits for the crust." It was too late she was already halfway upstairs and to her room. Xai laid her gently on the bed. "Calley I had to take off work because of your stubbornness. You know you have to take it easy. On top of that your parents stopped their dinner arrangements to come here." He informed sternly. Calley rolled over not talking to him. "You can give me the silent treatment all you want but you have to promise me to let Barb do these things…. Roll over I need to give you your blood thinner." Xai sad. Calley rolled on her back and he stuck the needle in her belly and injected the blood thinner. "Calley please rest I have to go back to work" Xai pleaded while kissing her on cheek and heading out the door. This was going to be a long nine months Calley thought to herself. She would probably go crazy by then.
Once back at work Xai sat at his office desk frustrated at Calleys actions? Why did she have to be so stubborn? The dr had made it clear to her that she had to take it easy but she seems to be ignoring the drs orders. This woman is going to be the end to my sanity Xai mumbled while looking over a clients paper work. He threw it on the desk and leaned back in his chair running his hands through his hair in frustration. He decided to go ahead and take the rest of the evening off since his mind was preoccupied. Days like these he really missed the club it was his way of calming down. He chased that thought out of his head there's no way he wanted to destroy the relationship between Calley and him. It was slowly turning into something amazing and he also had a baby on the way. Xai wondered if it would hurt to just go there and drink but then nothing good comes from drinking away your problems. For some reason he just didn't want to go home at the moment he was too frustrated with Calley. He decided to sit on his couch in his office and look on his phone at how to build a baby crib. Before long Xai drifted off to sleep without even realizing he was even tired. Xai abruptly sat up and looked at his phone he had 20 missed calls from her, her parents, and Barb. He glance at the time "fuck" he growled it was 3 am. Calley would kill him…. he rushed out the door and home was his destination. Once at home he was heading to the bed room and Barb stopped him while shaking her head no. "Miss is really angry you might want to give her space" Barb stated. "No Barb she has to communicate with me." He said while walking into the bedroom which was dark. He used his phone's flashlight. Before he could say anything Calley turned the lamp on. She blinked at him sleepily. "What happened Xai I was worried." He sat down beside her wrapping his arms around her giving her a hug. At first he could feel her pushing away but she gave in and let him hug her. "I'm sorry I fell asleep at the office I guess I have been overwhelmed. Calley sat there for a minute or so then kissed him on the cheek. "Let's go to bed Xai I'm tired" and with that she pulled him in bed even with him fully clothed. "Calley I need to get ready for bed" she interrupted him with a "shhhhhh" and pulled him in cuddling position falling right back to sleep without even turning the lamp off. How can she sleep with the light on he thought while he wiggled out to take his clothes off and the lamp. He laid back down by Calley and held her in his arms. Soon after he drifted off to sleep with all his worries set aside.
