Xai quietly with desperation waited in the er waiting room with his head bent down and his elbows propped on his knees in disbelief while his and Calleys parents were by his side the whole time trying to comfort him and they also worried to themselves as well, but trying not to show it. He was surrounded by support and love but still that didn't comfort Xai even knowing he had so many people supporting and loving him. In fact he was very hopeless at the moment. There was probably nothing anyone could say or do to bring him out of the hopelessness he was feeling. As each second passed his pain grew stronger. Earlier the doctor had informed them that Calleys fever and blood pressure was spiked and she was facing a possible stroke. He also had informed them that the chances of keeping the baby were very low. They were thinking of aborting the baby to save Calleys life was threatened. Xai had been speechless …. how could he give them permission to abort their baby. Xai knew perfectly well that there was no way Calley would forgive him if he chose to abort the baby so he didn't give them permission but the dr informed if it comes to Calleys life or the babies life they would save Calley. The rest of the day Xai sat on edge in distress and he felt like he was quickly loosing his mind. Once in awhile he would hide in the bathroom stall crying uncontrollably "how could this be happening" he thought as he would cry out into the empty bathroom as if the bathroom would answer back. He could almost visualize Calley and the child happily sitting beside him while watching cartoons but all his dreams of his perfect family were disappearing right in front of Xai. This was driving him crazy to the point of wanting to break something to pieces. Throughout the day friends and family would bring him food and drinks but he couldn't keep them down. He found himself vomiting every time he tried to eat due to stress. By the end of the day he was exhausted from trying to put a fake smile on his face and he was slowly losing faith that everything would be alright. Xai began to realize there was a definite chance that things would not be alright. Seeing Calley laying there almost lifeless and there's nothing he could do but just stare helplessly as she's hooked to machines and her life was in the hands of the doctors who were trying everything in their power to keep Calley and the baby alive. He would listen to the machines beeping that mimics her heartbeat and wondered would it stop and if so when would it? He could loose them both at any moment which terrified him making him angry at life. He tried to control his emotions but how could he when the woman who means everything to him is lying there possibly not going to make it. Fate is playing tricks on him he thought angrily tugging on his hair with his hands while deep in thought. He's known her for over a half a year but it already seemed like a lifetime….just when he's accepted her she might be taken away from him at any moment how cruel can fate be he thought.
The doctor walked into the room informing them that they had nearly lost Calley due to a stroke . Xais heart had dropped but decided to let the Dr finish his information. They had managed to bring her back and she underwent surgery on the brain due to a blood clot erupting. So far Calley and the baby were out of harms way but Calley hadn't woken up yet. She was in a coma the doctor had told them but making sure to focus on the fact that both mother and child were safe. Xai felt a little relief but not much since the woman he loved laid in the hospital bed in a coma. Yes he thought to himself I definitely love Calley and my child. Yes Xai confirmed his feelings although some would say it was too fast he he was definitely 100% sure that he loved Calley unconditionally. This woman has managed to taken control of his heart. His heart beats for Calley and his child. "Please be alright" he prayed quietly to himself.
Calley opened her eyes blinking several times and trying to focus but everything was hazy and she couldn't quite stay awake. She heard familiar voices as she faded in and out of consciousness. She tried really hard to wakeup but it was almost impossible. After awhile of fighting herself to stay awake she drifted back to sleep. Weeks passed by with Calley waking up several times then going back to sleep. She was finally starting to recognize faces and the voices. The doctor was able to stabilize her and the baby. She knew all she had to do was fully wakeup but something kept pulling her back into dreamland…. "I must wakeup" she told herself over and over again. Then finally she opened her eyes and took in a deep breathe. There was Xai sitting right beside her bed staring intensely at her with a worried expression that soon disappeared into a smile. "Xai" she quietly spoke. "Shhhhh it's ok Calley just rest " he said while petting her hair and giving her a kiss on the cheek. Calley smiled and touched his hand while a tear came down her face. "Is the baby ok?" She asked him worriedly. He smiled softly as he spoke"yes our baby is fine. We thought we had lost you both but luckily we didn't. We just have to take it easy til the baby gets he" Calley nodded in agreement as her stomach rumbled. "I'm hungry" she sighed while rolling over because she was a little uncomfortable. Just the the doctor walked into the room to check her vitals. Once in the clear he told her she could eat some food starting with chicken broth and jello. Anything sounds good she thought to herself. Once the food was in front of her she scarfed it down within seconds wanting more but Xai told her to wait awhile and not to over eat or she would get sick. She sighed deciding to take another nap and within seconds she found herself fast asleep.
