It had been a little over two months of Calleys stay in the hospital and as each day passes Calley grew stronger and was almost fully recovered. She spent her days in the hospital bed counting the days to go home knowing that soon she would get to go home. Sitting and laying all day in the hospital bed was not fun at all she thought it was almost slightly driving her crazy. Finally the day had arrived and Calley eagerly awaited for her doctor to bring in the dismissal papers. Xai was right by her side staring at her with his gentle expression on his face as she was growing impatient as the minutes passed by. Calley could not stop looking at the hospital clock and pacing the room back and forth. She was absolutely sick of being in the hospital bed and just wanted the freedom of her own home but she knew it was for the best to keep her precious child safe until delivery. Calley rested her hands on her belly rubbing it gently and sitting back in the hospital bed while looking up at Xai who had a loving expression but concerned look on his face as well. "I wonder what he is thinking " Calley thought to herself while staring intensely at him biting the bottom of her lip. He walked closer to her as if he had read her mind and rested his hands on her hands and gave her a gentle smile. He looked really happy she thought to herself. It was growing closer to their 1 year anniversary and she was falling deeply in love with this man standing beside her. As each second passed she grew more attached to him. She started to memorize his facial expression for every mood he was in, and she was noticing his likes and dislikes. He fascinated her because there was always something new she learned about him each day. Others saw his cold business like appearance but with Calley he showed her his gentle loving side letting her see all of who Xai is which she thought herself as lucky "Yes I'm the luckiest ever" she thought while staring into his baby blue eyes giving him a smile. He was so very handsome to Calley and everyone around would agree but when he smiled he could brighten her day with just smiling at her. Calley looked forward to his daily smiles and hugs as if she was a child on Halloween awaiting for candy. She felt safe in his embrace and was very thankful to have him in her life. Especially with this frustrating hospital experience, he was beside her comforting her every second of the day. He slept by her hospital bed nightly. "I love you Xai, I know it hasn't been even a year yet but I really really love you." She said quietly not caring what his response would be. "Thankyou for staying beside me these past couple months I don't think I could do it without you." she quickly added. He bent over and softly kissed her lips and then her forehead. "I love you too Calley, I really do." They smiled at each other still rubbing her belly.
Xai looked at her after both of them had finally expressed what they feel about each other. He was truly happy at this moment and wish he could pause time and spend this moment with her for eternity. The door opened and the nurse walked in with the dismissal papers going over Calleys daily instructions and informing them both it was crucial to follow these rules for the safety of Calley and their baby. Both Calley and Xai quickly agreed while not being able to hold in their excitement of getting to go home. He noticed Calley was ear to ear with a smile firmly on her face as if it were a permanent tattoo. He returned it with a smile gently hugging her and kissing her cheek over and over. "Let's go home Calley" he said while grabbing her hand in his and gently guiding her way through the hospital halls and forwards the exit. Just 6 more months to go and they would get to welcome their child to this world he thought hopefully. Calley let go of his hand and he stopped walking and notice she was staring at a couple who were happily holding a baby. Xai didn't need to read her mind because he knew exactly what she was thinking because Xai too longed for this moment. In 6 months this will be them he thought to him a little hesitant to think this way because he still had a million of worries. She nodded and grabbed his hand while Xai started to guide her through the halls once more with the exit sign getting clear in to view. He gently bent down and scooped her up holding her gently deciding to carry her the rest of the way. Calley just smiled and didn't say anything letting him carry her out of the hospital. Waiting in the car in front of the exit was Kyler who had been instructed to pick them up. He flashed Xai a smile and quickly opened the door to the happy couple. Xai carefully put her in the car gently putting her seatbelt on and kissing her shoulder then sitting down beside her putting his seatbelt on. Kyler closed the door and walked to the drivers side getting in and starting the car. Once they were on the road Calley rested her head on Xais shoulder causing him to smile and he rested his head on hers. "Home" she quietly said while closing her eyes. This was something that both of them were eager for while resting on each other. As Kyler pulled into the driveway Calley lifted her head in excitement kissing Xais cheek. He returned her kiss with a kiss it was only fair he thought while smiling. They we're finally home.
Calley wanted to jump out of the vehicle and run into the house but she decided to wait calmly as Xai gently helped her out of the car and into the house. Kyler nodded to them and pulled away and Calley watched the vehicle vanish into the distance. She sighed softly glad that she was finally home. Xai led the way as they walked into the house and Brenda was there with open arms pulling Calley into a hug and then smiling happily. "It's good to see you miss" Brenda said. Calley smiled brightly and nodded then looking at Xai she spoke softly. "I think I'm going to the bedroom to lye down I'm feeling a little tired." He nodded as if knowing exactly how she felt he gently picked her up and carried her upstairs to their bedroom leaving Brenda alone to finish fixing supper. "Let's both take a nap." He spoke into her ear as he laid her down in bed tucking her in then he laid down beside her. She smiled snuggling into his body. "This feels good." She whispered into the back of his neck.
