Chapter 7 - Nightmares

-Brexon-

It's already 03:00 in the morning. I must not let Gerald know that I came home late. Although, I bet he already knew because I wasn't home during dinner. But what to do? Kiara got me occupied and busy that I did not realize the time.

Initially, I thought of going home first just to show my face to Gerald. But Kiara asked me to go with her to the grocery. But it was not a wrong decision to go with her because I saw the new girl with her mom.

Reagan was so pretty talking with her mother while they were shopping. But I find it odd that she doesn't look like her. There is no similarity at all. Maybe she looked like her dad. I even wondered how does her father look?

I decided to talk to her through our minds. This new gift was really convenient and fun. I did not know I could do this not until Reagan came. But that conversation ended up with me being pissed at her. I wanted to say hello, but Reagan refused. I tried to insist because I did not like being told no, but still, she refused. I let her go because Kiara was with me. After that, I had forgotten my original plan, and I succumbed to Kiara's temptations.

Now, here I am, tiptoeing into my room, making sure I would not wake the old guy. Otherwise, I am in deep shit. Gerald would not stop talking like a priest doing a sermon.

I was near the door when I heard Gerald clearing his throat.

"Master Brexon, what time is it now?" Gerald asked.

I sighed before turning to face Gerald and said, "Good morning, Gerald! Sorry I was late. You know how school is."

I forced a smile, hoping I could get away from him and just go inside my room.

Gerald raised his eyebrows and said, "It's 03:00 in the morning, and you got stuck with school?"

"Kind of? You know, doing all those assignments in Science and study groups."

I almost chuckled, remembering what Kiara meant in helping her with Science.

"Master Brexon, I was just called by the principal last week. I don't want to get another call. You know the board members are watching your every move like a hawk. If they found out that you have been in a lot of trouble, they might replace me as your guardian, and you would lose whatever your dead parents have worked hard for."

"Gerald, I have heard you saying that several times but nothing really happened."

"Because I am trying to clean up all your mess, Master Brexon. You are not getting younger. When you reach the legal age, you would have to start working with the company. But until now, you know now nothing about how the company works. How are you going to fight for your position as CEO against all those bulldogs board members."

I laughed when I heard bulldogs. I knew what Gerald was saying, but I could not help it. Plus, I am tired and sleepy. I can't have this conversation right now.

"What is so funny?"

"You said bulldogs. Are the members of the board really that ugly?"

"You know what I am trying to say, Master Brexon! It would be best if you start taking your life seriously. I will not be with you forever."

"Gerald, can we have this conversation later after school? You know I should be sleeping by now, so I don't get late."

Gerald sighed and said, "Go and sleep. But this conversation is not yet over, Master Brexon."

I immediately went inside my room. I didn't want Gerald to change his mind and start barking again.

'Kiara was fun and tasty, but it was so exhausting,' I thought while remembering what we had done.

I removed my jacket, my shoes and threw them aside. I was too tired to change into proper sleeping wear, so I crawled into the bed and positioned myself to sleep. And in a minute, I was dreaming.

I was fighting with a lycan. He was strong, but I was fast. I was able to pin him down and rip his heart. Then, another one jumped at me. We rolled to the ground while exchanging punches. But I managed to kick him and sent him flying with a strong punch.

"You won't get away with this, Rickon," the bleeding lycan said before he ran away.

Then, I heard a wolf laughing, and he said, "What a coward! How are you, Rickon? Did you miss me?"

I smirked and said, "I am good, Evo. It's good to have you back. I thought I would never hear you again."

"Me neither. But listen up, I am still not with you."

"What do you mean? I am talking to you right now. Why would you say that you are not with me."

"Because this is just a dream. You need to find the girl, the princess."

"Which girl? What princess? I don't know anyone."

"You will recognize her, Rickon. Remember to find her. Find her before King Greco does."

"King Greco? Is she the king's daughter?"

"Find her, Rickon!"

I suddenly woke up with the sound of the alarm ringing so loud. I was panting. The dream was almost real. I still could feel the pain from the punches I received from those two lycans.

"Did I really fight two lycans? How was it possible? They don't exist. And who was the girl I was told to find? Who was the princess?" I asked myself and grabbed the alarm clock to shut it off.

I looked at the time. It was only 06:30 in the morning. No wonder I still feel tired. I only slept like three hours. I needed some more. I went back to sleep, failing to set the alarm.

Two hours after, I woke up from the sound of my phone ringing. I grabbed it, and Gerald's name flashed on the screen.

"Hello!" I answered in a sleepy voice.

"Wake up, Master Brexon!" Gerald yelled.

"Gerald, it's early in the morning, and you are yelling."

"What early? You are already late. You should have been at school an hour ago. I thought you were there, but one of your teachers called me saying that you did not again show up in her classes. I should have knocked on your door earlier. But I heard your alarm ringing, so I thought you don't need me to wake you."

"Sorry, Gerald! I was so exhausted, and I had the weirdest dream. I felt like it had made me even more tired."

"Dream? Hmm.. I had a bad dream, too. But you need to go and take a shower now. Attend the remaining classes you have. I am expecting that you would end up in detention once again, and I would receive a call from the principal."

"Gerald, don't be so pessimistic. Nothing will happen to me today."

"Enough of you talking. Go now and prepare yourself to go to school."

Gerald hung up, angry. But as for me, I am still thinking of my dream. 'What was that all about? I still can't figure out who the hell the princess is,' I thought.
