-Raegan-
The sudden knock on my door awakened me. I groaned and looked at the time, 6 AM.
'Why is mom waking me up this early? It's a weekend,' Raegan thought.
The knocking on the door went on, and I could hear my mom's voice saying, "Raegan, wake up! Come for breakfast!"
"Mom, it's Saturday!" I complained.
"I know, but come down. You have a package that arrived last night. Come to collect it."
Hearing that there was a package for me made my eyes widen, and suddenly I was fully awake.
'Package for me? From whom? Colton is already here. Why would he send a package?'
"I will be right there, mom. I just needed to go to the toilet."
I dragged myself to the toilet, still wondering who had sent the package and curious about what was inside. I only had Colton in mind who might be doing it. But what he would send for me? He did not mention anything about sending a package before he arrived here.
I stood in front of the mirror, and I looked horrible. My eyes still needed sleep. I didn't expect to be awakened this early.
I washed my face and combed my hair. As I was heading towards the door, I thought of calling Colton.
'Let me bother him this early,' I muttered and smirked as I grabbed my phone from the table.
I called twice, but he did not answer. He was probably still in his beauty sleep. He was not a morning person like me. And so, I went out of my room and sent him a message instead.
When I reached the dining table, I saw my mom making coffee, and my phone rang. I received a message, and it was Colton.
[Colton: What's with you, girl? Why are you waking me up? You know that I need enough sleep to prevent having wrinkles. I almost thought that maybe I was late for school but damn! It's a Saturday. So, what's going on? You are not yet dying, right?]
I smiled while reading Colton's message. My mom noticed it and asked, "Is that Colton?"
"Yeah! I disturbed the queen's beauty's sleep, and now he is complaining like a diva," I answered while typing my reply for Colton.
[Sorry, my queen, for disturbing your sleep. I did not mean to wake you. My mom woke me up early as well for a package that I knew nothing about. I couldn't figure out from who it would come from. I only thought of you. Did you send something before you moved here?]
[Seriously, just for that? Anyway, I did not send a package before I left New York. And even if I did, I should have informed you beforehand. No other relatives to give you that? Or boyfriend that I knew nothing about.]
[I am adopted, remember? So, I could not think of any other person that could do that for me. And like as if you don't know that there was never a guy who had noticed me.]
[Secret admirer?]
[Seriously? What did I just say about boys? No one is in the right mind to be sending a package to someone like me.]
I stopped chatting for the moment and asked myself, 'Was I harsh to what I just thought of myself?'
Anyway, it doesn't matter. What matters right now is who was the one who sent this package and what was inside it?
"So, did Colton send you a package? What's inside? Some of his stuff?" My mom asked while eating her pancake.
I looked at her and shook my head.
"No idea, mom. Colton said he didn't send me a package."
My mom's eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"Do you have any other friends?"
"Nothing that I am aware of that would send a package."
"Boyfriend?"
"You and Colton had asked me the same question as if you don't know the answer about that."
"I was just trying to check if things have changed."
"Nope. I don't know who it is from nor what's inside. I better open this box and send it back just in case it was wrongly delivered."
"It had your full name, so I think it must be really for you."
"My full name?"
I was really hoping that there was a mistake, but when I looked at the package, it indeed had my full name.
'Who in the world had sent you and why?'
"Open it! That's the only way to know who it came from and what's inside. Come on! I am excited about what's inside."
"Seriously, mom!"
"What? It's kind of interesting for someone new to surprise you."
"Just so you know, I know what you are thinking. And the answer is no. It's not coming from any boy."
My mother chuckled and continued to eat her pancake. I slowly opened the box. The first thing I saw was a note saying:
I saw you with Colton entering a bookstore. It hit me right away that you might be a bookworm. Next time, you should be with me wherever you go.
'What! Why the hell did this stupid Brexon send me this bunch of books?'
I looked at all of them and was shocked to find love stories. But one that caught my eye, 'The Wolf Who Saved Me,' was the title. If Colton were receiving this package, he would fall head over heels with Brexon. He loved this kind of gesture, especially since there were two or three werewolf stories here.
"You ordered books that you have forgotten that you did?" My mother's eyes widened to the number of novels inside the box. I was pretty sure she must be thinking if I used her credit card to buy them.
"No, mom. I went with Colton the other day to a bookstore. Someone had seen us there and thought I was a sucker of books."
"He or she knows you so well. From who did it come from?"
I was hesitant to tell my mother that it was coming from a boy. But she would not rest until she knew who. I sighed and said, "It's coming from Brexon."
"Brexon? Who is he?"
"A bully in school. He sent me this to tease me, and I will return this to him."
"I see," my mother replied with a smile. I knew what she was thinking, and I certainly didn't like it.
'Damn you, Brexon! Why can't you leave me alone?'
