When I went home, I directly checked the internet to purchase some best-selling novels. I found a lot, but I don't know how to choose. I am not fond of reading, and I am looking for a book here.
"Shit! Which one would she like? I know it's going to be love stories, but there are a lot of them. I don't know what to choose," I complained to myself.
I decided to call Garret to help me out. He had a younger sister who loved to read. Maybe Gaile could help me out.
"Hey, asshole! Is your sister there?" I asked right away the moment Garret answered.
"What do you want from her? Are you two dating now? May I remind you that she is only sixteen," Garret replied.
"Yeah, sixteen but looked like a twenty. But I did not call because I wanted to take Gaile out. I needed her help in making choices."
"Making choices? About what? Whom to sleep with?"
"No, dumb ass! I am going to order a novel, and since your sister is a sucker for books, can you ask her which book should I order online."
Garret's eyebrows raised in wonder, "Are you having fever, dude? Since when did you get to love reading?"
"Oh, come on, Garret! Call your sister, so I purchase online. The book is not for me, so stop your one million questions."
"Oh, okay. I thought you had finally decided to do well in school."
"Like as if I flunked in school. I am just always late, but I am not dumb. I still pass my exams. Now, where the hell is your sister?"
"Give me a sec. Gaile! Gaile! Can you get your ass over here?"
Suddenly, I could hear Gaile's voice annoyed because her brother had called her.
"Idiot! What are you shouting my name for?" Gaile said.
"Oh, don't you dare call your brother idiot, or I will shave your head. Now, come over here, and Brexon is on the line wanting to ask about books."
"You said it's Brexon?" Gaile said with a smile.
Yeah, my best friend's baby sister had been crushing on me since she was eleven. Garret was either stupid not to notice it or just didn't want to talk about it.
"Hello, Brexon!" Gaile said with a shy smile.
I rolled my eyes and replied, "Yo, Gaile! How are you?"
"I am good. What about you?"
"I am good, too. Listen, I need to give a girl a novel. I know you loved reading so much, which is why I asked Garret to talk to you. I wanted help in choosing a book to order online. Can you help me out?"
"Sure, Brexon!" Gaile said shyly with a hint that maybe the girl I was referring to was her.
'Shit! I hoped I didn't give her the wrong impression,' I thought.
"Now, I know ladies love romance novels, right?"
"Yes, most girls do. I love reading them."
"Great! Now, which book should I order online? If you were the girl, which book would you be dying to read now?"
Gaile shyly chuckled. I was right. She thinks that I was referring to her. I needed to correct this later on. I don't want her to spread rumors that I was hitting on her when I was not.
"Well, lately, I kind of loved reading paranormal romance, especially stories involving werewolves. It's interesting to read."
"Really? When you mentioned werewolves, it does sound nice to read. So, do you have any book in mind?"
"Yeah, I was able to read a sample chapter of 'The Wolf Who Saved Me by rcjune28,' and I feel intrigued by it. I am hoping I could read it."
"Great! I found it online. Do you have any other suggestions?"
Gaile gave me a total of ten books that she was hoping to read. And when I hung up the phone, I could really feel that Gaile was expecting me to buy all of those books for her.
"Shit! I did not say that I was buying for you," I complained as I put down the phone.
I decided to order all the ten books for Reagan and deliver them to her house.
"Princess, I hoped you would love them and thank me later for the kind and loving gesture."
I smirked as I hit the button to confirm all the orders. The novels would be delivered at Reagan's house after two days. I tried to ask if it could get delivered in 24 hours, but the customer service said I had placed the order after their cut-off time for 24-hour delivery.
I was about to shut down my laptop when I thought of Gaile.
"Shit! I needed to let her know that I was not referring to her, and I simply asked for her help. What should I do? I also don't want to offend her. Otherwise, Garret would think I was hitting on her, and I broke her heart."
Suddenly, I remembered that her birthday would be after a week. An idea came to my mind.
"Alright! Since I treat you like a little sister, and your birthday is coming soon, I will order the two books that you cannot stop talking about earlier."
I placed the order and put on a request to put a card greeting her for her birthday and thanked her for the suggestions because the girl I gave those books to loved it. I specifically noted that the card with that message should be attached to my order, and they should not forget it.
Then, I switch off my computer just in time to hear Gerald calling me. I heard him knock on the door and say, "Master Brexon, come on down, and dinner is almost ready."
I smiled at him and said, "Sure, Gerald! I will just do a quick shower, and I will be right now."
Gerald nodded, and I rushed to take a shower. After I put on clothes, I could not help but smile. I was excited to see Reagan's reaction once she received the novels. I felt like that would be the start of us getting close.
