Princess Ievna was still observing the servants working on the palace grounds. She could only peek through the small window and didn't dare to make herself visible to the maids.
It was true that the witches of Wemor had been exterminated last night, but she didn't dare to see those people as friends. Someone from another kingdom had indeed killed Sharass, but that didn't mean that someone had the pure aim of avenging the deaths of the Shovalon people.
Fourteen years had passed, and Princess Ievna did not know which was a friend and which was a foe. That was why she would continue to act like she wasn't there. Those people probably thought that Princess Ievna of Shovalon had died, and she had no intention of changing their assumptions.
She was held captive by Sharass in the past fourteen years in the tower prison located near the front gate of the palace. There was nothing special about the tower, and at first glance, it looked like an abandoned tower. Thus, no one had come to the tower since Womer was defeated.
She would not dare to reveal herself before she could decide whether those people were friends or foes. She was just a desperate red rose, but she still cherished her life.
She still remembered how her mother begged the witch to spare her life. She also still remembered how her parents told her to live well right before Sharass burned them to ashes.
Before her parents turned to ashes, Sharass still hadn't cast her spell on her, so her parents probably thought that she could live like a normal person after their death. That was a good thing. Her parents could go to the afterlife without worrying about her tragic life as a red rose.
Her parents treasured her life until their last breath, and that was why Princess Ievna didn't want to die just yet. Her parents wanted her to live well, and she would find a way how she could live well.
The red-haired princess was still hiding near the window, but then she almost jumped when someone suddenly pointed his finger at her. The princess quickly shifted her body away from the window, and she could feel her heart thumping loudly behind her ribs.
"Did that man manage to find me here?" She asked herself as she used her right hand to clench her chest.
It was still the same blue-haired man she had seen earlier. The man entered the castle not too long ago, but then he returned to the palace grounds again before pointing a finger at her.
"Wait. Is he really pointing his finger at me, or is he just pointing his finger at the tower?" Princess Ievna suddenly found another possibility.
The tower was quite tall, probably almost forty feet tall. In addition, she was imprisoned in the topmost room of the tower, and perhaps the blue-haired man would not be able to see her.
"Prince Reigen wants us to build a monument to the late Shovalon royal family. He ordered me to find a good place for the monument."
The princess heard the voice again, and she decided to peek through the window one more time. She hid herself properly, and she was confident that the blue-haired man would not be able to see her.
Prince Reigen. It was the first time for her to hear the name. After Wemor conquered Shovalon, she often heard the people of Wemor talking about other kingdoms and also the kings, but she had never heard that name before.
"But, the prince wants to build a monument to my family? Does that mean he cares about my family? Is he a good person?" The princess whispered to herself again as she considered the possibility.
She had been locked up in the tower prison for fourteen years, and she had no idea what was going on outside the palace. The witches didn't tie her up with some ropes, but they still didn't let her out of the tower prison. That was why she could only figure out the situation around the tower.
"I think this spot would make a great place for a monument, Sir Connad."
The princess could hear someone else speaking, and it wasn't the blue-haired man anymore. That person called the blue-haired man 'Sir,' so she assumed that the blue-haired man was noble in the kingdom.
"This spot is good, but we still need to ask the prince's opinion. You know that Prince Reigen is quite picky, right?"
Princess Ievna once again heard the prince's name mentioned, and she was more curious about the prince.
And when she was still curious about the prince, another man suddenly approached the two men. The man was wearing a red and golden outfit that looked glamorous, and the two men immediately saluted the man. Princess Ievna could guess that the man had a higher position than the two men.
"You arrived in time, Your Highness. I was just about to find you to ask for your opinion."
'Your Highness? Is he the Prince Reigen?' Princess Ievna questioned in her heart after hearing the blue-haired man talking to the black-haired man.
Yes. The man who just arrived at the courtyard had silk black hair with bangs covering his forehead. From the distance, Princess Ievna could see that the man had a rather big build, and his skin was fair. She could also see a pair of golden eyes of the man, and it was the first time she saw someone with golden eyes.
The princess was secretly admiring those aurum-like eyes that were beyond stunning, but suddenly, those pair of eyes were directed at the tower she was currently in.
A pair of golden eyes stared at the tower window, and the princess suddenly felt nervous. She was afraid that the man would see her in the tower.
However, before her worry subsided, what she heard from the raven-haired prince immediately froze her body.
"That tower looks so unsightly. I want to tear it down."
