Prince Reigen was sure that everything would go according to plan before today. He managed to wrest Shovalon from Wemor's hands, and he even managed to persuade his father to allow him to build a monument to the deceased Shovalon royal family.
He had done many good deeds for Breviel, and he hoped his father would reward him greatly. He didn't expect that his father would give a gift to his older brother in return.
"Why do you wish to give Shovalon to the Crown Prince, Your Majesty?" Prince Reigen dared to question the king's decision because he believed that the king was unfair here.
King Karl turned to his youngest son and looked at him intently. "You know that your brother is the Crown Prince of Breviel, right? He is Breviel's future king, and it's time for him to learn how to be a ruler before he can take over my position in the future. Shovalon has been dead for fourteen years, and I want him to bring it back to life as part of the Breviel."
Prince Reigen would not oppose his father's idea of reviving Shovalon as part of the Breviel domain. Shovalon did have good potential for the agricultural business. The soil was fertile, and the climate was perfect for growing crops.
He knew that Shovalon would give Breviel a lot of advantages, and that was why he would not oppose the king's idea of reviving Shovalon's dead territory.
The second prince Breviel agreed with the king's idea, but he did not agree with the other ideas that came out of the king's lips.
"I know my brother is the Crown Prince of Breviel, but I was the one who managed to snatch Shovalon from Wemor! I am the one who deserves Shovalon!" Prince Reigen dared to voice his thoughts in a rather harsh tone.
His tone surprised the king a bit, but the king remained calm as he asked his youngest son, "Why do you want Shovalon so much, Reigen? I know that it was you who usurped Shovalon from Wemor, and I plan to bestow you with the royal title 'Breviel God of War.' Why do you want Shovalon instead?"
Prince Reigen had never been interested in such a royal title because he had better plans for himself without a royal title, and that was why his gaze on his father remained cold even if his father intended to keep the peace between them.
"I want Shovalon, Your Majesty," replied Prince Reigen firmly. "I am the one who conquered Shovalon, and if you want someone to revive Shovalon, then I will be able to bear the responsibility. You don't need to burden the Crown Prince with this dead territory."
A pair of golden eyes once again drifted to the Crown Prince, but the Crown Prince remained silent and said nothing.
"That won't do, Reigen," King Karl was still against his second son's wishes. "I just want the Crown Prince to learn about leadership, and that's why I want to give him the responsibility. If you want, then you can help your brother here as the second in command."
'Second in command? Why do I need to be the second person again?' Prince Reigen grumbled inwardly while clenching his fists under the table.
He had lived for twenty-eight years as the second prince in the Breviel royal family, and he didn't want to continue his tragic fate. He didn't want to be the hero's sidekick. Instead, he wanted to be a hero to himself.
"I don't want to do that, Your Majesty," Prince Reigen once again dared to defy the king's wishes. "If you insist on giving Shovalon to the Crown Prince, then I will leave Breviel to become a traveler around the world. That way, you can give everything you have to the Crown Prince."
Prince Reigen didn't sound polite at all, and his statement shocked everyone else in the dining room. Even the Crown Prince couldn't maintain his composure anymore as he widened his obsidian eyes.
"How dare you say that you want to leave Breviel, Reigen? Do you think you have the strength to live without your family's support? You were just a spoiled child since you were little, so how do you think you will survive in the wild world?"
King Karl finally couldn't contain his anger and finally snapped at his youngest son. This was the first time he had heard such a thing from his son, and to him, what his son had said was the most ridiculous thing.
He and his wife had spoiled Prince Reigen so much since the prince was a child, so how could the spoiled prince live without the support of his family?
Meanwhile, Prince Reigen's pride was hurt by his father's words once again, and he could no longer hide the anger on his face. "I may be a spoiled prince, but I'd rather live in the wild than live in a family that won't even grant my small wish even after I risked my life fighting the strongest witch of Wemor!"
The majestic dining room was enveloped by a tense atmosphere after the golden-eyed prince dared to shout at the king.
Queen Tassia looked panicked, and she decided to interrupt, "Your Majesty, perhaps you should grant Reigen's wish. This is the first time he wants something from you, so why don't you grant his request?"
Prince Reigen might be a spoiled child, but he always suppressed desire in his heart and never expected anything from his parents. In the past, he had only received what his parents gave him, and it was the first time he had expected anything.
Glancing at the Crown Prince again, he didn't want to lose to the blonde prince again.
"Alright!" The king finally decided, making the three people turn to him. "Prince Reigen will live in Shovalon and will be responsible for reviving Shovalon as part of the kingdom of Breviel!"
And Prince Reigen finally won the battle against the Crown Prince.
