Chereads / Cursed To Be A Red Rose / Chapter 19 - WHO'S THERE?

Chapter 19 - WHO'S THERE?

The sun rose again to greet the Earth, and the red rose automatically floated into the air before suddenly being enveloped by a bright red light. The red rose then gradually transformed into a red-haired woman.

It was Princess Ievna.

It was still Spring, and of course, the princess would change into her human form at sunrise. It wasn't like she could control the transformation, and she would automatically transform into her human form even if she didn't want to.

If today was an ordinary day when she was held captive in the tower prison, then she wouldn't mind turning into her human form since that was the thing she wanted most.

Staying as a red rose was torture for her. She would still be able to look at her surroundings, as well as be able to hear any voice around her, but she couldn't move at all.

She would only move a little when the wind was too strong and it managed to bring motions to her red petals or green leaves.

Aside from that rare occasion, she would just stay still like a red rose. Sharass said that she wanted to torture her instead of giving her an instant death, and it was indeed misery she was experiencing.

The princess in the green dress blinked her silver eyes after transforming. When she cast her gaze to scan her surroundings, she knew that she was in her old bedchamber. Her heart fell. She just realized that she missed the place so much.

It was the place where she slept at night in her childhood. Her mother would always come to her with a glass of warm milk in her hand, and she would kiss her forehead before saying 'good night' in her soft voice.

In the morning, it was her father who would wake her up and would give her piggyback to the bathing pool.

Those were happy memories she had in her mind, but she ended up crying as they played through her mind like a broken record.

She missed her parents very much, but her parents were no longer here with her. They had left fourteen years ago before her eyes, and she couldn't even do anything.

Everything had changed, and even the large room had changed. She cast her eyes around her, and she almost failed to recognize the room as a place where she slept fourteen years ago.

Fourteen years ago, the room was filled with the scent of roses. She and her mother loved roses very much, and that was why the maids always sprayed rose essence in the room to please the owner of the room.

Now she could only smell sandalwood instead of rose, and she displayed a look full of disapproval on her face.

The scent was not the only thing that had changed. Fourteen years ago, this room was full of flower decorations, but now she couldn't see anything in the room. Instead, she felt that the chamber didn't have the soul and felt empty.

The chamber felt empty even if someone was sleeping soundly on the bed. The bed didn't change, but it was the bedsheets that were different from her favorite back then.

However, that was not the thing that became her focus right now. There, lying on top of the soft mattress, was the black-haired prince she despised. Yes, that was Prince Reigen.

Princess Ievna loathed the prince even if they never interacted directly. She had never met the prince before, but she didn't like the prince's attitude. Moreover, she still remembered how the prince insulted her father.

To the princess, her father was a hero. Even if her father, King Geraint, failed to save Shovalon from the evil witches, she still saw him as a hero in her life. She only had ten years with the man, but she knew that the man was the best father in the world.

She suddenly felt the suffocating feeling in her heart, and she took a deep breath to calm herself. 'Now is not the time to be sad, Ievna. You have to get out of this room before this prince wakes up,' she said to herself as her silver eyes continued to stare at the sleeping prince's figure.

She stood by the bed, and she could see how the prince was still sleeping soundly. It was still very early in the morning, and it was normal that the prince was still sleeping.

Princess Ievna had been in the room all night, and she knew that the prince had stayed up all night. She didn't even know what the prince was doing, but she could see the prince was busy with books last night.

Glancing beside her, Princess Ievna could see sunlight starting to penetrate through the window. There were two big windows in the room, and if she didn't escape from the room sooner, then the prince's sleep might be disturbed by the light, and the prince would wake up soon.

Princess Ievna had to leave the room soon, but she didn't feel well this morning. Her skin was originally fair, but it looked paler today, especially the skin on her face.

Aside from that, her red hair, which usually looked shiny and healthy, lost its shine and looked dull that it looked almost black at a glance.

'My condition is not good at all. If no one helps me today, then tomorrow I will die for sure,' Princess Ievna lamented inwardly as her hand clenched her chest.

She indeed needed help, but she wouldn't ask for help from the prince. The prince was too nasty, and she wasn't willing to ask help from that kind of man.

That was why the princess decided to turn around and started walking cautiously towards the door. She didn't want to wake the sleeping prince, so she tried not to make any noise.

Not long after, she managed to arrive at the door. She was about to raise her hand to open the door, but a voice coming from behind her halted her movement.

"Who's there?"
