Prince Reigen did indeed do a good job of renovating the ruins of the Shovalon kingdom in just a day. Even though the Wemorians lived in this palace before they were defeated by Breviel, the Shovalon palace was no different from a graveyard with a dark atmosphere shrouding it.
However, after Prince Reigen managed to wrest the palace from Wemor and ordered the servants to carry out cleaning and repairs, Shovalon palace looked like a palace again now.
Even the grand dining room looked so majestic, and the Breviel royal family could eat merrily in the room. The family of four had finished their lunch, but they were still at the golden dining table because the king had not dismissed them.
"I must admit that you know how to handle this palace, Reigen. If I had known that you had finished the work of renovating this palace, I would not have brought the workers with me," the king spoke again after elegantly cleaning his lips with a napkin.
The king did bring some workers from Breviel to renovate Shovalon's palace. Prince Reigen reported to him that he was going to clean and renovate the palace, but he didn't expect his son to be able to do all the work in just one day.
Meanwhile, Prince Reigen could see that the praise he had been waiting for had finally materialized before his eyes, and he smirked before replying, "It's an easy job, Your Majesty. With my abilities, I can handle anything with ease."
The second prince of Breviel acted arrogantly again, but this time, the king didn't seem to mind his arrogant attitude.
"Perhaps I should give you more opportunities to face real problems in the future, Reigen," the king spoke again. "It's the first time I've trusted you with an assignment, and you're doing pretty well. You're quite an adult now, and I'm very proud of you."
Prince Reigen was always full of himself, and his father's praise caused his head to grow bigger. He finally smiled evilly as he glanced at the Crown Prince of Breviel. The Crown Prince noticed the gaze, but he didn't say anything and just averted his gaze from his brother.
"Do you have any other plans related to this palace, Reigen?" The king gave him a question, and Prince Reigen turned to his father again.
Nodding his head, the youngest prince then replied, "I would like to build a monument to the deceased Shovalon royal family, Your Majesty. If you are willing to grant my wish, then I will start the construction next week."
King Karl seemed to be surprised by his youngest son's idea. "You want to build a monument for them? But why? I remember how you insulted the last king of Shovalon for his weak heart, so why did you suddenly want to build a monument for him and his family?"
Prince Reigen expected such a question from his father, and he had prepared the answer. "I realize that you are right, Your Majesty. No one expects misfortune, and the tragedy that happened to the royal family of Shovalon is truly a misfortune. This has nothing to do with the character of the last king. I think we should honor him and his family by building a monument to them."
Of course, Prince Reigen wouldn't tell the truth to his father. He was too cunning, and that kind of benevolent idea was not in his mind at all. However, he knew that he shouldn't let his father know his real purpose.
"Our son is mature now, Your Majesty," Queen Tassia suddenly butted in. "Just this morning you reprimanded him, but he has reflected and is willing to change himself for the better. Please let him do what he wants to do, Your Majesty. I believe that Reigen will be responsible for his decision."
The queen was too easy to fool, and Prince Reigen decided to reward his mother with a small smile.
But, the king was still frowning at him and didn't immediately say 'yes' to his idea. Prince Reigen didn't even know what was on his father's mind, so he just waited for his father to decide.
Until finally, King Karl sighed before deciding, "Alright, you can build a monument to the Shovalon royal family, and you will be the leader of the project, Reigen."
Prince Reigen finally smiled broadly after hearing his father's decision. His plans were going smoothly so far, and he was sure that everything would go according to plan from now on.
However, he knew that he still had to keep an eye on his older brother because the Crown Prince suddenly let his voice fill the room.
"If you don't mind, could you please tell me your plans regarding Shovalon, Your Majesty?"
The Crown Prince Randver was a polite man with a gentle voice. While Prince Reigen had a voice so deep that it could intimidate those who heard his voice, Crown Prince Randver had a voice so gentle that it sounded like a lullaby to his listeners.
Physically, Crown Prince Randver was also smaller than his younger brother. Prince Reigen liked to exercise since he was little, so he had a big body since he was young. On the other hand, Crown Prince Randver preferred books, and he would spend more time in the library than in the field.
As a result, Crown Prince Randver had no muscles in his body, and his stature could not be compared to the burly second prince. Perhaps that was also the reason why Prince Reigen dared to offend his older brother even though his older brother had a higher status than him.
"I have a plan for Shovalon, and this plan is related to you, Crown Prince. I will leave Shovalon to you, and you can learn how to be a good ruler by reviving this territory as part of Breviel."
And the decision made by the king surprised Prince Reigen. He clenched his jaw, and he was about to explode.
