Below the building where the Celestials had congregated was a maze of separate rooms that made up the basement of the building. At the centre of the maze stood two guards armed to the teeth and each wielding a spear that had a slight aura pulsating from them. Each guard had a sword hung at their side and a pair of battle axes on their backs, so that despite their foe they would be able to take them on.
The guards at the centre were the best of the best but their skills had diminished because of the amount of time they spent away from battle. These two guards stood day and night to protect the room behind them and never had to face any intruders because no one could make it through the maze without a guide. The guards had never faced an enemy attack before as you couldn't get to the maze without first finding the Hidden Village of Unazia which was an uncommon occurrence.
As the guards were standing and watching ahead down the dark corridor, they began to here footsteps approaching. The guards looked at each other and nodded. They readied their spears in the air to throw at the incoming opponent while slowly unsheathing their swords with their free hand. The two guards crouched in anticipation to leap at the unknown enemy.
They were both ready to release their spears when they heard a second set of footsteps along with the first. They then heard voices conversing from where the footsteps where coming from and lowered their weapons when two figures came into view. They voices and footsteps belonged to two young woman who seemed to be aged in their thirties and forties respectfully.
The older woman was the Griffon representative for the Celestials, Phaenna, also known as the Mother of all Griffons and creation. She had long gold-blonde hair that came down to her thighs. She was quite a tall woman by human standards, standing at 6'2. She was proportioned nicely, and her natural beauty caught the attention of every man and woman around. The guards watching her approach had to restrain themselves from asking for her hand in marriage.
She had dazzling blue eyes that reflected everything all of humanity wanted, however behind those wonderous eyes was a woman who knew that if you wanted something you had to give up something in return. She wore a white dress and had bracelets made of gold around her wrists and neck. The dress stretched down towards her ankles that met with her white sandals. The dress didn't cover her arms which revealed her delicate skin and made it harder for the guards to avert their gaze.
To her right walked a woman who wasn't as attractive as the almost perfect beauty beside her. She was the Human representative for the Celestials, Olivia Walker. She was the youngest of the Celestials as human's had a shorter lifespan then other creatures. She looked to be in her early thirties but was actually closer to 300 years old. Human celestials would normally last ten times longer then the average human.
She wore the clothes of a middle class individual so that she could blend in with society better. She wore a light shirt that had a woollen jacket covering it. She had a short, pale, day dress that went to her knees and meet with her long, white socks and black shoes. She had short brown hair that had light grey tinges at the end of the hairs, which matched her silvery-white eyes.
While she walked next to Phaenna she spoke, "Why do you have to come with me? He isn't a Griffon. He falls under my protection, and I shall do with what I want." The Griffon stepped in front of Olivia and pushed the door behind the guards open as they stepped aside for her to pass through.
"I told you why earlier. There is a chance that he has a part of any of us inside of him, so we can't rule out the possibility of him not having some Griffon blood." The Griffon walked through the door with Olivia right behind her. She went straight to a machine at the back of the room. It was a capsule filled with a light green liquid that surrounded what was within.
Inside the capsule was the body of the boy that the Celestials had been discussing earlier. He had a mask over his face to provide him with oxygen. He had tubes connected across his nude body that floated within the liquid and only bobbed up and down ever so slightly. There were bubbles coming from the mask every time that the boy breathed.
"You are exactly right, we don't know if he has Griffon blood, but we are certain he has human blood flowing through his veins as he was born from a human and there is no evidence of interbreeding between the species in his mother's family tree." Olivia said while looking through all the records The World Tree had provided them with.
"And what of the father? We know nothing about him. Maybe he is the reason that this boy is the way he is. You can't deny that." Olivia started rummaging through the records, trying to find some evidence to help her argument against the Griffon but there wasn't any available.
"This doesn't make any sense though. There is nothing on the father, it's almost as if he never existed in the first place." The Griffon pondered on the words of her colleague and realised that it didn't make sense at all as the World Tree had been collected information for centuries and it wasn't normal for it to be missing gaps like that, especially when it came down to important figures in society like this young boy could become.
The Griffon's train of thought was cut off when she noticed something on the boy's body. "That is true, but I think I found something more interesting." She called her colleague over and pointed at the centre of the young boy's back. "Do you see that mark there. It is barely visible, but I am sure it is there." Olivia moved closer to the glass of the capsule to have a clearer look at what the Griffon was pointing at.
"You are right, there is definitely something there but what could this mean." She pressed a button on the capsule and the liquid drained out and the capsule opened. Olivia caught the boy and placed him face down on the capsule. The two of them looked closer at the mark. "Could you please pass me the cream behind you."
The Griffon did as instructed and handed over a tub of yellow cream which Olivia placed on the mark on the boy's back. The cream evaporated immediately, and the mark disappeared along with it. "Just as I thought." The Griffon said. "His power isn't able to stay contained in his body. If he continues to release energy like that he could kill all those around him."
The Griffon transformed it's left arm back to it's original form and placed it's claw on the back of the boy. She drew some symbols on his back that sunk into his body and disappeared. "That should do it. Once his body is stronger we can release the seal and he can fight properly. We should send him back to his people, I'm sure they are worried about him." The Griffon opened a gateway and placed the boy on the other side after wrapping him in a towel.
