The Head doctor directed Professor O'Brien into the room where Sasori lay on the bed covered from head to toe in bandages. "What the hell happened to this young man, Professor?" The Head doctor pulled a bin full of bandages soaked in blood. "I have never seen a patient this badly injured in my life that lived to the next day."
"I have no idea what happened to him. We were having a hand-to-hand combat lesson when he started to fight against another student as though he was a professional. Then there was a voice in my head and a portal opened taking him through and then a portal opened in the same place an hour later and he was thrown through naked. There was blood all over him so I rushed him as a quick as I could."
The Head doctor put his hand on the professor's shoulder, "Alright. Calm down now. Breathe." The professor stopped and slowly breathed in through his nose and out through his mouth on the doctor's instruction. "Now that you are calm, let's address what I said earlier. I haven't seen anyone who would survive something like this, but this boy's vitals are normal and stable."
Professor O'Brien looked at the Head doctor confused, "What do you mean? There is all that blood and he had holes all over his body. How can he survive after so many injuries?" The professor looked up at the doctor for answers, but he had none to give him.
"I honestly don't know. From what we saw he should be dead. All the holes were over major organs and arteries, but nothing was damaged except the flesh. It's like whoever made those holes knew exactly what they were doing and were able to completely miss all the vital organs, but it is only a theory and a completely ridiculous one."
The professor thought to himself for a moment before replying to doctor, "Well it could make sense because the voice said he would return and be alright but why would they stab the person they said they were going to help. I don't understand this fully enough to come to any conclusions, but I think I know someone who might." Professor O'Brien left the Infirmary before the Head doctor could ask any more questions.
*********
At the back of the school campus Mrs Ferg and Professor Nara were walking out of the forest and walking back towards the Year 1 dormitory. "Why couldn't I take something there, it could have helped me with my research and maybe even helped the magical community." Mrs Ferg walked behind the professor to prevent him from running back to the Hidden Village of Unazia as he wanted some equipment and resources from the sacred village.
"I already told you that those materials and weapons belong to that village and that nothing that is made in that village leaves it without getting permission from the village elder or from someone of higher ranking." Mrs Ferg walked ahead of the professor once they left the forest as there was no way he could return without her.
"Surely you could have granted me permission. You were called Celestial or something like that. Doesn't that give you some kind of authority. Even the guards that attacked me didn't do anything to you, so you must have some ranking." The professor's logic was correct except for the fact that Celestials didn't need equipment of a sub par standard as they could make better equipment themselves and a Celestial granted permission for such resources was highly unlikely, even more so for Mrs Ferg
"You are correct I could have, but I won't and never will." Mrs Ferg didn't miss a step as she walked away from the disappointed professor. "We are here." As they walked around a tree the Year 1 dormitory came into sight and so did the sight of a panting Professor O'Brien. He was standing outside the Year 1 dormitory trying to catch his breath as he had run at full sprint from the Infirmary to look for Professor Nara and Mrs Ferg.
The two of them approached the professor, "Is he back?" Mrs Ferg said to Professor O'Brien. His face showed a shocked expression and Professor Nara seemed to be confused.
"What do you mean is he back?" Professor Nara said. "We go all the way to this place in the middle of nowhere and talk about.." Before Professor Nara could finish his sentence, his mouth was forced shut by an unknown force. He looked down at Mrs Ferg who looked directly into his eyes. He could read her expression clearly, 'Don't tell him a thing or else.' The professor composed himself. "I mean, who are we talking about?"
"Sasori. The student in your class that disappeared during my lesson. But let's move on from that. How did you know he was back? What was that voice that spoke to me and told me to trust it? What the hell is going on here?"
Mrs Ferg ignored all his questions and walked past him. "If you want to know ask that man. He can answer you." Mrs Ferg pointed her frail, old finger at Professor O'Brien and then looked into his eyes as a warning. The professor gulped down his saliva as Mrs Ferg walked inside the dormitory.
"What was that about?" Professor O'Brien asked as he turned to Professor Nara. "Are you alright?" Professor O'Brien said. Professor Nara had gone white and there was sweat coming down from his head.
"It's all good. Don't worry about it." Professor Nara said. "Now tell me about this boy. Professor O'Brien told the professor all about the events that had transpired before and after Sasori's disappearance. 'That was him.' Professor Nara had pieced together what had happened. He had realised that the boy he had seen at the Hidden Village of Unazia was Sasori and that the holes in his body had been inflicted on him there.
'That old lady. What has she got me wrapped up into now?' Professor Nara took a deep breath and then explained to Professor O'Brien what had happened while leaving out all the detail about the village, Celestials. He only spoke about seeing Sasori okay and reassuring the professor that Sasori was not experimented on or tortured and that that was the reason for the holes in his body.
The professor sighed in relief when he heard that and the two of them headed back to the Infirmary together to check up in Sasori.
Watching from 100km away was a cloaked individual. He stood within the shadows of the tree while watching the school campus through a small portal that covered the distance. He pulled out his communication amulet and dialled a rune. "Hello, Master. Can you hear me? There has been a development. There are more players then we thought."
